Thanks Captain Blaire! I got my rod and reel about 2 or 3 months ago. I've only used it once because I haven't been fishing very often now. I'm going next week though, But I went saltwater bay fishing and caught 37 fish. I caught and release :)

This was a very successful episode...every one is successful. But you caught regular Red and Bodacious(Mogan) Reds on DOA Lures. It was really great to see you 2 guys catch some Reds, lots of big Reds. Great episode! Goes to show you that you can catch BullReds on DOA. There not too picky to where they just want live finger mullet. DOA makes one that imitates mullet. BaitBuster, Swimming Mullet, & CAL Silver Mullet. Guys and girls go out there and get you some DOA Lures and you will see results.

@McCloud3211 We recommend the shallow running D.O.A. baitbuster in natural colors - black back or green back will work well.

@96waveonwave I would go with the 7'9" Flats Blue fishing rod, so you can get the fish to the boat as fast as possible to give it the best chance of survival without stressing it out.

30# test braid is too heavy for a 1000 size reel. At most I would recommend 15# braid on a 1000 size reel. Anything more than that is going to substantially reduce your line capacity & casting accuracy/distance.

I was going to go with the wright & Mcguille combo but..... I didn't like the little bit of bearings the reel had. So I went with the quantum smoke inshore sl40pts and a field and stream tech spec rod. Could've been a bad decision but there is always next paycheck haha. Hey Blair can you explain to me how to work the DOA cal jerkbaits. I just bought some and wanna make sure I am doing it correctly.

hey man, iv been fishing for a while and love using doa, but i have ran into the problem of the swimbait shads and the paddle tail d.o.a of their tails coming off almost every jig, not that its your fault but i was just wondering if u could say something to mark nichols or whoever

sure it wasn't sea lice all over them because most of the bigger ones i catch in the marsh in south Louisiana always have sea lice on them. Not harmful to humans and ok to eat!
