The night I met my husband an audible voice told me, in two separate instances, that “this is the man you are going to marry”. No butterflies, no passion, just matter of fact as if someone was telling me that the sky is blue. We started dating 6 months later, and married six years later. Unfortunately he is not a believer and we are unequally yoked. He’s also has many narcissistic traits and I am so broken in this marriage. I often wonder why God wanted me to marry this man. Why was he made a part of my life plan? All I can hope for is that my suffering is serving a greater purpose.

Live a Godly life before him and lead him to Christ by your lifestyle, behavior, speech pattern, and handling failures and successes in Godly ways. 1 Peter 3:1 In-Context Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.

Tried dating. Really, there must be another way than the world is teaching. And it is not "just don't have sex before marriage". After my own hurtful and regretful experiences, I have come to the conclusion, the only way you get to have a successful marriage one day is twofold: Keep serving God with all you got and then see who is doing it with you plus sit under one spiritual roof and let Godly leaders speak into both of your lives and relationship. Everything else is secondary. I mean, the only clear biblical instruction given is: Both should be Christians. But honestly, why then are so many Christian marriages failing. It's because there's factually more to it then it being a mere statement.

Dating isn't in the bible. Only the relationship of marriage is. But, the man should lead you closer to Christ. If he's not in the word diligently, he's not going to be a very good leader for his family. Is this something he's willing to work on? If he's fighting mentorship, he may be the type who doesn't want accountability. It's hard to say your Christian and the avoid God and accountability. I've learned this the hard way and should've ended relationships much sooner before my heart became entangled and 2 years of time wasted.
