Millions of years of evolution lead to the beautiful red foxes being resourceful predators with a varied diet and sharp senses. And then there's Loki.

They clearly have good fluid thinking, just not necessarily good at planning but definitely creative and curious enough to get up there in the first place. They don't have the agility of felines nor wings so getting up there is a feat in itself.

bacon froyo I tend to agree with you. Fox are wild animals, not domestic. They are not genetically predisposed to such confined interior quarters with other animals, especially humans. Fox are not pack animals, like wolves... or dogs. The best thing you can do for a fox is observe it in a natural habitat, but leave it alone, and don't try to make a pet of it. Human kindness may sometimes be more selfishly motivated than we like to believe. Where I live, this guy would be fined and the animal removed from his home. Even intentionally feeding fox is against provincial laws.

Josh Burton it's a circular twist knob not a handle knob that you push down to open this fox would need to put pressure on the knob then turn yes he is a very intelligent animal but physically it would be extremely difficult for it to open that door without help but either way its still weird to have the plunger in a windowsill for the world to see it 😂

Much better than being on a fur farm and contained to a small enclosure in a pet store. I agree, it's very sad that fur farming is a thing. We have plenty of other materials that can be used to make clothes. I don't see the appeal.

Loki is a boy's name, it's dead (TYR is replacement) and owning a fox is not like taking care of a dog or cat. They require really expensive care products and toys and are *very very* mischievous and cunning, they are guaranteed to tear up a few things or steal and stash food away. They can bite and puncture you if you aren't careful but with training it will determine its strength level and not chomp as hard. If it's not illegal in your country, you can get one from an exotic animal breeder and you need a permit too.
