There is so many good RHCP songs; "Under the Bridge" "Californication" "Dani California" "Scar Tissue" "Can't Stop" "Snow (Hey oh)" "Give it away" and more.
@@blindmelonlemonjello Finally somebody with a head on their shoulders, everybody is only telling Jamel to react to RHCP's big hits instead of their actual good songs.
i mean those are good songs especially give it away, but you have to listen to there more less listened too stuff it’s amazing. mellowship slinky in B major, hump de bump, funky monks, get up and jump, if you have to ask, warped, this velvet glove, BSSM the song. i mean it’s all amazing. when so many people are talking RHCP, it’s always there top hits and as much as i agree there good songs it just gets annoying.
Don’t hate on these songs just because they’re popular. They’re a great place to start for anybody who hasn’t listened to them, and John Frusciante’s riffs really shine in these songs.
People are saying react to this and that. This is one of the most unique bands of all time and I think you should listen to as much as you can from them
This is actually my favorite RHCP video. I love all their music, and this isn't my favorite song, but definitely my favorite video. It tells a story that I wish I could be a part of. A story that I used to be a part of when I was much younger and skating around LA and the Valley.
No it is not. That is only the tip. Dark necessities are your bad habits that you keep so your demons don't come out unexpectedly. Look into the shadow.
Oh man this is another band you have to listen to every song. Ur going to fall in love with them. Listen to love rollercoaster. Its a cover of the ohio players love rollercoaster.
I was at a Chili Peppers' show at the Mayan Theatre in Downtown L.A. a bunch of years ago. One of the security guards at the front of the stage got rough with an audience member. Anthony Kiedis loudly scolded the guard in the middle of the song, telling him not to be messing with any of his fans. The guard quit right on the spot . . . he just walked out of the building.
“Can’t Stop” for sure! Thank you to your mom for mentioning Flea to you. RHCP is one of my favorite bands. Definitely bring funk to a different level. They also cover Stevie wonder’s higher ground. 😁
Man "turn it again" more people need to hear this one by the peppers, love your videos man RHCP is my favorite band so anything else by them I'm watching!
I still listen to it front to back regularly and I can't say that about much else except for Pink Floyd cause that's how you do Floyd and Sgt. Peppers, cause that is also how do Sgt. Peppers.
@@Bushanie24 recommendations are more for Jamal to give him some variety then for the rest of us , esp as Jamal likes to do songs with videos when possible and I think he's probably heard these tracks ( maybe 'at work' without knowing who performed them . These tunes were popular for sure , but for good reason - they successfully reached a broader audience , leading some to look in to the band further , ultimately becoming fans ( then probably dismissing some of these tracks as they discovered the sheer funky brilliance/ variety of the band ) . I saw the Chili Peppers for free at Rutgers back in the mid 80's ( college radio played them) - had no idea who / what they were and I was a big prog rock guy at the time - totally blown away by the energy and the playing .
The David Letterman’s March 1990 live performance of “Higher Ground” is the better one, in my opinion. Frusciante is shown as a pure beast in this one, just pure fire! Check it out. I recommend it as the next reaction video I want him to do. Fingers crossed if he’d do it at all. 🌶🔥
This is one of those bands where you have got to start at their beginning to hear how much they've changed over time. It's like they are so unique on every single level they've been on. They change with time yet stay completely legitimate with times.
Oh we're doing RHCP now? In that case we must check out their Breakthrough song, their cover of Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground." Or if you want to get REALLY early check their song "Black-Eyed Blonde" featured in the 1986 movie _Thrashin'_ starring Josh Brolin making it one if the first mainstram exposures to "thrash rap" that was their early signature sound and became a staple feature of pop musc in the mid-1990s. Yep, that's how far ahead of the curve RHCP was.
Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the best bands all of time, so many great songs. Finding your videos during quarantine has been such a great blessing, keep them coming!
This is one of my all time favorite bands. They definitely have a sound of their own and a ton of great songs with awesome lyrics, deep as you like to say. Great reaction! 👍
When I first got married, over 20 years now. I introduced her to the Chili Peppers. Started out with give it away. Many years later were still married.
Yertle the Turtle ( yertle the turtle dutch 1990 version) True Men dont kill coyotes, Show me your soul, Catholic School Girls Rule, Knock me Down, and from BSSM: Sir Psycho Sexy or Apache Rose Peacock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All are funky!!!!
Not the best song, but the most commercial one. It's really good though, but the whole last album is very strong and this song really has it's competitors!
As soon as he finds out what "Keep an eye on shadows smile to see what it has to say" really means he's going to be f@cked up in the head for six months.
They covered Stevie Wonder's Higher Ground. Knock Me Down Taste the Pain Give it Away & Under the Bridge which Weird Al covered in Bedrock Anthem Scar Tissue
I always like Rhcp but very casually but when I heard this song 4 years ago it made into a STAN! I joined their fanbase and I met Flea last November at his book release...I felt the same way when I heard this song....that bass was everything!! .I also wondered why Flea was sitting in the sink! 🤣 But joining Rhcp fanbase and following their fansites I have met some of the best ,diverse and interesting people online and in person...I highly recommend it! Flea also has a book club he canceled the meeting this week but is going to reschedule it soon...Flea and his wife are amazing! She is a talented Urban fashion designer and first woman to design for Jordans.
Can I just say your mama is awesomeness!!! Been watching you for a wee while.... and today wiz a Chilli vibe day... and well aye... Dark Necessities is one of me faces so up it pops and next to it is your reaction video... and me thinks ohhh aye... Ah.. clicks it and me wee Scottish heart near pops 🎉 aww mann.. absafookinloute.. ❤❤❤ I noticed how old this video is and you probably won't even see my comment ... but I'm putting my live for your mama and you for this video into the universe .... much love from Scotland xxxxxx❤
Bro. You gotta check out RHCP "I Could Have Lied," "Don't Forget Me," "The Power of Equality, "Sir Psycho Sexy, "Blood Sugar Sex Magic," "Dosed," to name a few. Too many to choose from
Bad timing though! Let's wait and see how this develops. Rest of the band are up there in age and there probably wont be any shows until at least fall 2021, earliest. It's really unfortunate! Also big artists postponing new music right now, theres no money in just releasing music.
The Chili Peppers' cover of Sly & The Family Stone, *"IF YOU WANT ME TO STAY"* !! The funk is smooth. And George Clinton is the producer (I think he did some back-up vocals too).
"Really put your ear to the music" is great phrasing, Jamal. When we pause and really listen to people tell their story, whole new worlds open up. Music and food are the best bridges between souls.
So glad to FINALLY see u do RHCP!!! Been a fan since '86. Ur mom got the hook up with one of the best bassists EVER!!! Cant wait to see more of your RHCP reactions, so many great songs to pic from!!!
Really love your reactions Jamel, really appreciating your videos man. In this period of Isolation you're like a good friend to hang out with spreading good vibes allover. Now I think you can go the next level and try some really interesting Prog Music like Genesis. I think it would blow your mind to listen to Firth of Fifth for exemple. I hope you'll try it! Peace
Wow you have two of my favorite groups together! It took me a while to get into the chilies, I would hear them but I had to really listen to them. They have a lot of deep meaning to their work. They are great musicians in their individual right. But Flea is an absolute master on bass as well as other instruments. I really look forward to your journey into their music, message and minds. They are one of the most underrated genius of modern music!
Wow!! I thought everyone has heard these guys, they old school but a goodie!!! Too cool about ur Ma! Awesome ur catching the Chili's now and seem to enjoy the tunes!! :)
This song is from The Getaway album. That’s one of the greatest albums ever made out of all music history in my opinion. I can listen to it in it’s entirety and I do so roughly at least once or twice a month. My favorite song on the album is Encore but all the songs are spectacular and the album is truly a masterpiece.
As a Californian who's just really getting into this different type of music, I know you're going to love this band just as much as you love Rage. You should definitely check out some more Doors stuff as an L.A. boy as well, for sure. Much love brother; love the channel and the positivity.
Finally you listen to the Red Hot ! I was amazed that you haven't tried it yet, it's surely one of the funkiest bands of the past 40 years. Some suggestions : Get Up And Jump, Higher Ground, Fire, Power of Equality, Funky Monks, Warped, Shallow Be Thy Game, Around The World, Otherside, Californication... And many more !
Love the fact you give love to your mother she is in your thoughts and heart thank her🙏🏼 for giving us you to make all your reactions i enjoy your reactions keep up the good and entertaining views❤
One of my favorite bands to listen to!!! Look forward to the Under The Bridge reaction!! That was the first song I heard from these guys. Back when I was about about 20 years old. I'm almost 50 now,and I still love to jam to the Chili Peppers!!!! Jamel, I think your gonna like them as well!!!!
I'm so happy to see you checking out RHCP, one of the funkiest bands in the land. Lots of great songs to get into. You'll find them, no need to request. The fuse is lit.
Kudos to Mom! I'm a geriatric, but this song and video was cool as sh!t! Loved that Mom's pal, Flea was wearing dishwashing gloves while playing the electric bass ... in the sink! Anxious to hear more music and reactions to this band!
Please react to "Breaking the Girl" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, its old school Chili Peppers. And also Rivers Phoenix was in the music video dancing with a mask on.
George Clinton was a big influence on RHCP so quite a few of there songs have a funk vibe. Also IF you don't know who George Clinton is you need to react to him as well. P Funk 😁
i actually stopped listening to the chili peppers since the album :"by the way"..my loss..i know..but as you get older you just listen to the greatness you grew up with right, or is that just me?
Paul Jansen I don’t think it’s your loss. That’s the last album of theirs I bought, songs like Snow and rain dance Maggie or whatever are straight up annoying to my ears
@@timmatthews1604 good to hear..i guess that it goes for more bands I grew up with..bands like Korn and Metallica and Pearl Jam..and this list goes on..at a certain point yo're not lokking out for new releases anymore..that's when you know the love you once had for a band is over..gotta admid though..Tool and Deftones are the only rock/metal bands I still enjoy and listen to regularly!! for the rest I pretty much stay with what i know and liked from the past!
