Well said! Millennials & under have inherently absolutely nothing! Rock n Roll & Hip Hop is Dead! We were the lucky last Generation to hear RHCP, NIN, RAIDOHEAD, JANES ADDICTION for the 1st time! Now all the artists don't write their own music or play instruments. They are just cardboard cutouts. An intern tried to play me a machine gun Kelly video...I called her an idiot! Our law department called me saying I HAVE TO STOP calling the interns dumbasses! I said I called her an idiot!!! They laughed because they know it's true!
Most RHCP songs need to be listened to a few times before you can appreciate its full beauty. I used to just like the top hits but then after buying the albums and listening to all their songs i found my self loving the less known songs even more! Huge fan of the Chillies
I could dance to all 8 minutes and 7 seconds of this song. It has such a great feel to it. You gotta love Anthony's "Pa-ta-ra-pa"!! Can't get tired of that bass line, drum beat, and Josh's little notes here and there; mesmerizing and groovy!
What john has as a gifted guitarist is pure expression from his feelings he knows how to interpret them into music , so I think that's how you can build up fans, people look for music that touches to their feelings.
People may complain how repetitive this song is, but I honestly dig this song. It has a great, groovy bassline along with Chad's fitting drums; Josh's reverberating guitar coats the groove with a sweet atmosphere. And hey, it's fun to jam along with this track with our own instruments! I play guitar & this is one of the best jams to play along with online :)
Bands change. Josh is awesome. I enjoy the singles project, and look forward to another full album. The live show they did in Glendale rocked the house, their live game is good right now.
Some people just don´t like change, but those ones have to realize that is change what makes a band alive! Without change it wouldn´t be innovation and innovation is always good from a band like this. Great music, make more RHCP!
love the chili's for their production. 4 things - voice, guitar, bass and drums all clearly mixed, no extra bullshit. this is a good example. great tune!
That's how I first heard of them. It was on Rock Band, it intrigued me, I listened to the 'Stadium Arcadium album,' and I was sold. Listened to all their discography within the week, and I know their history. That scenario doesn't always end with people just liking/knowing their popular songs. They've been my favorite band for about 3 years now
Hell yeah! RHCP is my generation's version of Led Zeppelin ... every album has it's own unique sound and is impossible to mistake for a different artist. They will be around doing their funky thing as long as the Rolling Stones have been doing their thing.
i'm 14 and i'm so proud to say that i listen to rhcp since i was 5 years old... i'm thankful to my family, they teached me how to have good taste on music
Hint for your 20s hehe: there’s no such thing as “bad taste”. There’s just people who prefer different things than you and that’s ok! We all can be glad that we appreciate RHCP and get emotions from their songs, but remember that other people feel the same way about different stuff and they’re not wrong.
@@luciana.garcia098 But you think that you old enougt to taste the original “jam” where this song originally came from? mod: If the answer is yes, just let me know ;)
millennials & under who are known for their ENTITLEMENT, NARCISSISM & that SMUG look "they" always have on their "I am inherently given everything in life" face! Who are soooo spoiled & never had to do anything for themselves, so they can't function in the real world. That said, I have a millennial brother that @ a young age showed him the right movies like..A Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a dream, Fear & loathing in Las Vegas & showed him RHCP, NIN, Raidohead, Jane's addiction, ect... He now is I think 35, never had a job in his life, was given everything & doesn't talk to me cuz I wouldn't help him w/ his career. So girl, you are an exception. Rock n Roll & Hip Hop is Dead! The musicians today are cardboard cutouts that don't write their own music or play their own instruments. This music is GENERATION LAST!!
8 minutes of hypnotic, cosmic, magical energy riding on waves of vibrations which splash against your tympanic membrane, filling your subconscious with razzmatazz, xanadu, and azure shades of ecstasy :)
Couldn't agree more, cant wait to see what they come out with as Josh gets more say in the band. So far these B-Sides are awesome, way better then I'm With You...in my opinion at least...anyone else agree?
he is cnsidered by many to be one of the greatest drummers i find him to be just incredible the things he can do are mind blowing he has very powerful and funky drumming and is really good on slow songs to
I'm a John Frusciante fan myself, but try to put it in perspective for Josh here: RHCP fans (me) had come to Love what John put into their music. After Navarro seeming "out of place" the last time John left and then 3 INCREDIBLE albums made upon John's return. There are a lot of Peppers fans that would be completely opposed to any sort of lineup change. Then Josh comes in and does his thing. Like it or not (which I do), you have to respect someone brave enough to come in and do their own thing.
Really like Anthony's singing in this. I don't know why, but it reminds me slightly of Sting's voice. In fact, this song reminds me entirely of Desert Rose, and I adore that song. I'm glad Anthony is always open to experimenting. It's a healthy thing to do as a musician, I think.
I love the new psychedelic/chill route they have been going with these b-sides, its kind of going back to their earlier routes when they went down that route of the psychedelic vibe.
This is by far the best I'm With You b-side with Strange Man. Anthony's singing reminds me of the off beat style he used on One Hot Minute! Its amazing!
It would undoubtedly sound interesting at a concert! But then again, that's open to everyone's own aesthetics. What's interesting about music to you? Crazy dancing around head banging? There's emotions involve in songs like this that are very minimalist that can outplay fast speed tunes. With regards to the bass line, I think it leads the song magnificently.
John is aguably our generation's best songwriter/guitarist.His contribution to RHCP are some the greatest pieces of music ever recorded. RHCP did a good job on IWY,people just can't get past John's absence to recognize that it's a good album, even without John. RHCP has had a reputation for putting out very good records lately, unlike other bands. Their standards are incredibly high, and thats okay. I just feel like IWY is not far from what they've BEEN doing. I agree with your Conclusion.
I agree with DieByTheDrop. I mean, I was devastated when I heard John left the band. But after hearing The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie, I was hooked. With Josh in the picture, all it means is its time for a "New Normal". RHCP will always be great, no matter who they play with, or what they play. Period.
like said before, the second album with josh will be great, and going by all the live recordings, i think some of the new albums songs will be more jam based as josh is getting better every day and they are becoming more and more comfortable with each other. Roll on new album :)
Ivan, Your comment should get to to the top for the amazing spelling and just the point behind the statement, the comparison is relevant and also true, 'Jistin' is definitely in the same field of music and a good comparison to the red hot.
this jam is really fresh and innovative. AK lets the music breath without drowning the groove in too many lyrics. keeps it simple. this choice really highlights their super-tight rhythmic engine. definitely a more mature sound here which doesn't need to rely on a screeching guitar solo to suit the traditional rock-stereotype format. love the floaty synth component too. in fact, it kind of sounds like this track might've been inspired by JF's masterpiece Letur-Lefr. Fucking brilliant.
