Can't get enough of this one. That dreamy chorus effect is so chill. Gives you that nostalgic feeling of a time gone by but it's fresh too at the same time.
… VERY TRUE… and why is this a GOOD thing??? Bastards of light was ONE album ago… this album is total GARBAGE. 100% SHIT. This is literally the leftover dried up sperm from the load they blew off the last album. These are definitely all the leftover trash records that didn’t make Unlimited Love….. and im a HUGE RHCP fan. LIFELONG. Have all the albums went to see many shows many decades. This album is a BIG disappointment. Big bummer let down.
John is definitely my favorite guitar player and maybe artist, but kudos to Flea. In my opinion he is responsible for the coolest parts in those songs. Also when I think of every fucking live intro. I know it's about the chemistry between Chad, John and Flea blablabla but for me Flea is a master on a different level.
Agree. Flea somehow continues to impress. He's been playing for 40+ years and still manages to sound amazing and fresh? And on top of that he seems like a great guy. What the hell, that man's my idol (even though I'm a guitar player lol)
Totally agree! John is one of main influences and inspirations for playing the guitar but FLEA constantly outdoes himself time and time again. I think hes consistently got the most creative ideas.
The flow from the stellar Bella to Roulette perfectly encapsulates an effortless Californian summer breeze. The guitar fills accompanying Flea's driving bass line couldn't be more perfect. What a joyful love rollercoaster. Genius...
Dude just came here to see if anyone commented on this part of the song! Listen to the album since it came out … and suddenly that bridge clicked with me! Love the vocal melody!
This is sneakily the best work frusciante has ever put out. He’s casually worked himself into a perfect groove in between the dry and nonchalant californication and the face melty guitar hero of stadium arcadium
This has to be my favorite track from the new album (which is killer). It just highlights all the bands perfections.. So grateful to hear this masterpiece!
This new album is really nothing special. Too long, quite boring, no catchy songs, no radio bangers. Dude, this is far away from being a masterpiece. The last good RHCP album was Stadium Arcadium, that was something!
@@Kjbt70 It's not about old vs. new. New albums can be great too, but this one's not. This sounds like leftovers from Unlimited Love, which is way better album than Return of the Dream Canteen and 2 previous albums with Josh in my opinion. I know this is just a matter of someone's music taste after all, but still I think majority of people would agree that new album isn't that great and it's far behind "mighty" Stadium Arcadium.
This is like a cross between Freaky Styley, Mothers Milk (Verse and chorus) and Stadium Arcadium (bridge), all in one! One of the best songs from Return of the Dream Canteen!
[Intro] One, two [Verse 1] The college years were lean, well Coming out, but maybe not so clean, my love And if I stay much longer My feelings for you, they might get much stronger now A Motorola coma Sleep your way into a deep diploma, girl At the dormitory You've come to pour me one of your best stories, girl [Chorus] And I feel your face getting wet Like the color red of roulette And I place my losing bet On your side And I see your eyes of regret But you gave as good as you get Like a Massachusetts thrеat Running wild [Verse 2] A pair of dirty jeans, well You would wash inside my brass machinе, that's good Laying on your mattress A thing of beauty, we would need more practice now Hall & Oates were singing The funny notes that you were always bringing, girl And elevator's closing Hard to hide when love is so exposing [Chorus] And I feel your face getting wet Like the color red of roulette And I place my losing bet On your side And I see your eyes of regret But you gave as good as you get Like a Massachusetts threat Running wild [Bridge] When I drover her, to Villanova Light me up when you decide Stark aroma of your Tacoma A tiny box where we reside A-battle tested, a life invested Duly noted and denied A-fully loaded, space encoded A quiet night out in the sky [Verse 3] Your stack of lies was daunting A tribute to your mind but way more haunting, now A talking psycho killer We'd trade the heads of even Henry Miller, now Conspiracy's a theory I wonder, Tim, if this could be your Leary, love, ah She act like Marlon Brando Born online inside the San Fernando [Instrumental Outro]
I’ve just listened to the interview with John and Rick Rubin about this song and the history of it creation. It was so interesting to realize that Flea and John used quite unique size for the rhythm.
This song is definitely a summer song. You're talking a walk by the beach, or just walking through your neighborhood. While you're looking around watching your neighbors or strangers play or just doing some work on the outside. While you're walking your thinking back to all the memories this song pops into your head while the sun beams down on your skin. But then you're thinking about the "now" times, and the memories you're waiting to discover and make with the people you know during the summer. The bridge at 2:55 is everything, I can hear all the memories bringing you to a good place, reminiscing on all the fun stuff everyone did, and how it kinda brings us to a bit of sadness and wanting to go back to those times.
Me hace sentir viva!!!
