What a way to end the album. The first night I truly delved into their music was another late night like this one. Just clicking on whatever music video RU-vid decided to throw at me and that night, they became my fav band of all time. Fast-forward many many years later to another late night (some things never change lol) I was able to see my fav band do it once again. It was a pleasure to be here with you guys tonight and can't wait for the rest of the fans to hear it tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.
@@alienated8113 "And I love you And always had to thank God I found you Beautiful talkin', well, it was to me Do you see? There's no more me I'm happy as can be"
It reminds me of "Road Trippin", the vibe of the song about time with friends. The slow melodic tempo is just amazing, and the moment John is hitting the guitar..
it makes me weep when I listen to it too. the first few times I just enjoyed it and then I saw a comment from someone saying they sung this song to their cat as it passed on and it made me see the song in a new light. now everytime I listen to it I cry so hard
Been listening to this album with my Childhood friend, Shash. He parted ways years back, his family had to shift outside India. But somewhere deep down I knew, we would just connect someday. Today, just very randomly, I messaged him about the new album release of RHCP. For the past 2 hours, we have been listening exactly to the same songs of the new album. Writing long messages, thinking about our childhood times, planning for a road trip and getting stuck here at Tangelo. A sweepingly emotional moment for us. He writes about his Grandfather who is in the ICU apparently " Connoisseur of percipience, Harbinger of bliss, you are the legend of this town, this family tree's very own crown" . Hope he recovers very quick in time. Much love.
This song touches me so deep inside. Anthony really puts it all out there on this one. Those final two lines are HEART BREAKING. Such emotion and one of Anthony’s best lyric writings. I appreciate Anthony so much. Thank you for all you have done
Letra: When I'm with you, I feel like myself No stranger, the shadow of somebody else When I feel you holding my hand I get touched, ain't this life grand? But the form of a life is long never ending And the smell of your hello, I know And the smile of a knife is seldom befriending And the smell of tangelo, I know When I'm near you, I feel like a king A life force inside to do anything When I'm downtown, I pick up the phone I hear you and I'm not alone. But the form of a life is long never ending And the smell of your hello, I know And the smile of a knife is seldom befriending And the smell of tangelo, I know But December came strong, the mending went wrong And the clothes on the line never dried And the crows on my hill came in for the kill But the dream of this love never died When I lost you out in that field My crooked eyes, could hardly conceal Tell me one time and bring me my tray Oh, let it go and now I must pray Let's pray.
Every time I press play on this song, an intense wave of euphoric emotions hit and I immediately get goosebumps. Such an incredible end to this record.
My three-year-old daughter can’t get enough of this song. She always asks us to play “the smell of tangelo song.” The song makes me pretty emotional, so I’ve been trying to avoid listening to it too much, but since she loves it so much, I also can’t get enough of it at this point, tears and all. A masterpiece. 🖤
Perfect ending to a phenomenal album. Take the time to think....damn, RHCP has been around for a very long time. If I could respect you twice, I would. If I could salute you twice, I would. Thank you for a very wonderful playlist for our ever moving lives. It's been wild and so far, we have you here with us. By the way, I'm so glad you came. RHCP until our stories end. Love.
This song depicts the love I have for my daughter: holding her hand in the sun and embracing the rapidity of her childhood. Watching her change as she explores the world with unwavering excitement. Her “hello” and our togetherness are archived in my olfactory-forged memories that make me melt like this song. I also know that one day she will be on her own, and I can only wish the best for her when she gets lost out in the field of life.
Wonderfully put. I also think of this song as a sort of theme for my daughter, too. She was born not long after UL was released, and I had this track playing in my car a lot as I was driving to and from the hospital. Something about it just seemed to capture the simple joy of becoming a parent, along with the subtler, almost bittersweet sense of being so attached to another person.
I'm 16 years old and have been listening to RHCP for like a month. They are one of the few artists whose songs I can listen to all the time and I don't know why but I feel like I've known them for years. I am happy and excited about the new album. They have been making music for the past 4 decades without losing their authenticity and that says a lot about them.
Search John's and Josh's solo songs, but also the songs they made together, before Josh joined the band as the main guitarist. I am sure you will enjoy all their music.
Beautiful soulfull lyrics .This song is showing just how timeless The Red Hot Chill Peppers are. I have been a fan since I was 11 in the early 90's so that's more than half my life now.I grew up in Los Angeles County, Whittier and their music fits the vibe of Los Angeles to a t. Like finely aged wine they get better with age.
That slight pain in Anthony’s voice when he goes “oh, let it go”… the absolute raw emotion. It’s songs like this where his vocals and lyrics shine most to me!
@@AZAZELLO__ ah yes, the good old arbitrary number to sum up one's feelings with art, in attempt to make an objective statement to the subjective experience.
@@danielmunoz456 analysis and criticism is indeed valid and the discussion about what makes music "good" is endlessly interesting. But, rating systems is worthless and arbitrary when it comes to music or art in general. It's not a microwaveoven that can be compared to a marked standard. Ratings where made for people who don't read the reviews and just want to see if an album is worth their time. That is fine, but it bothers me when people uses numbers to discribes their experience of the music music or as a measure of objective quality.
For months after my grandma died I barely could shed a tear. Felt a huge sense of loss with no way of physically expressing it... That's until I heard this song.
Absolutely flawless from start to finish. Their best since Stadium Arcadium, definitely ranks up there with their very best albums. Thankyou Red Hot Chili Peppers 👏
What are your favourite tracks? I particularly love Here Ever After, Its Only Natural, Whatchu Thinkin, White Braids & Pillow Chair, One Way Traffic, and Let Em Cry
"But December came strong, The mending went wrong And the clothes on the line never dried And the crows on my hill Came in for the kill But the dream of this love never died" ❤ Bravo, Anthony Vocally too, this song is so beautifully sung! Especially the ending.
This song, at least to me, feels like a soothing, forgiving outro to the Scar tissue where everything falls into place for Anthony and he finally found his peace
I was born in 1998 and my dad played Californiacation alllll the time so I don’t even remember a time when I didn’t know that album. I wish I could hear it for the first time as an adult lol
This was one of my favourite songs on Unlimited Love. So wistful...made me long for another album from you guys. Hope to hear more music you guys create. I'm so grateful to be able to listen to this magic.
First song I ever heard from them was "Knock Me Down" way back in 1988. They've been growing and knocking me down with amazing music ever since. It's a beautiful thing.
