From their flyer, looks like Salt River Pima-Maricopa is the name of the native reserve/community. If you have indigenous heritage, great that you are connecting with your heritage and sharing this beautiful part of the culture with others. Do you have heritage from this community? Unfortunately, in some cultures, incl mainstream pop music in the U.S., dancing and music become a way to objectify women, glorify violence, materialism. This toxic patriarchal, capitalist culture hurts everyone. I live in Toronto, Canada, Turtle Island. The band Halluci Nation collaborates with indigenous singers, drumming groups. Their videos are uplifting and positive! Like that you share the pow wow website link with others, showing us the lovely doggies, beautiful nature and hiking. @@IndigenousEventRecordings Have not seen the museum. I'm here in Santa Fe and there is a great museum here. Rose's family is from Gallup. Her brother Paul does sweats. Her book is about finding her family when the Church sent her to the Rez as Missionary when she was 30.
