For a game that existed before Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, this game really has such impressive gunplay, but it's still underappreciated I guess. Props to Tripwire Interactive for making this possible. Edit: The melee bashing animations for the guns are decent though.

Kinda surprised some of these guns (PPD40, M38, MP41) didn't make it to Red Orchestra 2 And man, you can really feel the tripwire interactive Killing Floor-esque feel of shooting the guns

never understood how they could ruin the Mosin's sound in RO2. It was powerful in RO1 now it feels like an airsoft gas gun in RO2.

because ro2 takes place in early war and this game takes place lye war

@@williamjames7293 Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (originally) takes place, as the name suggests, in the battle of Stalingrad, which happened in the middle war period. Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 on the other hand takes place throughout the WW2 Eastern Front. So the time period isn't the reason why there was not some weapons from RO:Ostfront in RO2. Weapons in RO2 would have to be made from a scratch, so that's probably why some early war weapons were left out. Although some new weapons were added, such as PTRS-41 and Nagant revolver, latter one being more common than TT-33 during WW2. Still it would've been nice to see PPD-40, Luger, PTRD, Mosin M38 etc. in RO2.

All the open bolt submachine-guns fires from a closed bolt...The PPD-40, PPSh-41, PPS-43, MP-40 and MP-41. And the scoped Mauser Kar98 has it's safety in the safe position. But still it magically fires. Blasphemy!
