I want recomend to you all an anime called Attack no.1: shoujo about Kozue Ayuhara player of volleyball. Masterpiece! One of the best anime I've seen in my life!
Sad how many people never watched this saga. Honestly Blue and Tao were better villains than a majority of Z villains and it showed the first times Goku was really losing a fight against someone evil and only survived because of his friends or his natural luck.
Well technically Blue would've killed Goku twice if the rat and Arale didn't interfere, but in terms of actual technique Tao flat-out kicked Goku's ass.
The first time I ever heard about the Red Ribbon Army was when Future Trunks explained to Goku about Dr. Gero back in the early stages of the Android Saga. And I remember being instantly fascinated, since at the time I knew nothing about the original series.Years later, when I finally watched the original series, I remember getting super excited when I saw the Android's logo on Silver's tanks, because that finally meant I could learn about this mysterious organization. And I gotta say, I was not disappointed. To this day, this is my favorite saga and the Red Ribbon Army are my favorite villains overall. The Ginyu Force being a close second. Obviously.
I was vaguely aware of them before Trunks. Had not (and still haven't) watched the original series, but digging around on the early internet while we were still getting only the Saiyan and Freeza sagas over and over again, I was able to find a little bit of information both on what came before and after those episodes. Enough to know the Red Ribbon Army was one of the major arcs of the original series, but not much else about it.
Fun fact: before Dragon Ball Super, the Red Ribbon Army were the only villains in the entirety of DB's continuity to make a significant (non-cameo) appearance in every single series. Even in Super, one could argue that 17 and 18, although no longer affiliated with the organisation, still count... :P
Constrick I never saw dragon Ball before dragon Ball z so when they said Goku destroyed the red ribbon army I thought Goku was 16 I never would have imagined he was 12 when he took them out.
Funny to think about - if a certain little space alien had never reached Earth, these Devils from Hell might very well have started a literal World War.. and stood a fair chance of winning. Goku being a Martial Artist Hero, and fighting them singlehanded, wasn't a concept, yet - it wasn't a 'thing' that had been done on Terra since Master Roshi was a young man, and he sealed a great evil in a piece of kitchenware. Even if they thought about going Bruce Lee and trying to take on the whole Red Ribbon Army themselves, would Krillin, Tien, Shen, Roshi, Yamcha, and Bulma have stood much of a chance without him?
Maybe? The Kais have a very not interfere policy, but even them could see this was just like FreeZa forces on its infancy. These antagonists had someone like Dr. Gerro on their ramos!
Destroying the Saiyans was for the best. But at the sane time, Beerus should had told Frieza and his family to slow down in the destroying and killing. Didn't help that Shin wasn't doing his job like he's supposed to.
At the time this saga was created we had war movies, the great stars that we admired were from an army or they became one-man army and that is well honored in this arc that brings back memories of a martial artist invading the enemy base and defeating an army although of course on that occasion with help and I speak from the movie American Ninja even has his "grandpa" as Gohan who appears later
Who? A plot convenience created who never existed in dragon ball during this arc let alone Goku encountering him and sparing his life. It was flappe who created anderoids in this arc and it was red who was the leader of red ribbon army not gero
From Japan to America and all around the world, we all got to experience this amazing story thanks to Akira Toriyama. 日本からアメリカそして世界中で、私たちは全員、鳥山明のおかげでこの素晴らしい物語を体験することができました。
in the Japanese dub, it's implied that General Blue is Homosexual, and with the Red Ribbon Army being based on both the Nazis and Soviets, it wouldn't be out of place for the army to condone homosexuality though Blue being a exception similar to Ernst Rohm, the leader of the SA, the Nazi's original paramilitary group before The Night of The Long Knives where SA leadership was purged and the group replaced with the SS lead by Henrich Himler. but Blue being gay is half the supposed controversy as his interaction with Obochaman is hinted to him having feelings for the bionic humanoid who resembles a child. so to those who aren't putting 2 and 2 together, he's the rundown, not only is Blue hinted at being homosexual man but a type that is child predator which is a offensive gay stereotype.
So little views & likes? For shame! Any Dragonball fan worth his salt could tell you that they'd be hard pressed to find a better video for this song. Please be sure to do some more music videos. You're really good.
Many people dont realize how powerful the red ribbon army actually was because they were beaten by a 12 year old, even tho said 12 year old just took down a guy who can throw a boulder across a freakin continent before charging to their main base! They had dozens of thousands of soldiers, each carrying dozens of capsuls. Each soldier literally had a plane, tank, hovercar, speedboats, and a couple of other things that were never shown. One of the reasons goku even reached the red ribbon base healthy was because the air defense system was turned off (since they expected it to be tao pai pai delivering the dragon balls, with tao also confirming he had killed goku beforehand)
Sono appassionata di questa canzone perché negli anni novanta comprai il CD originale giapponese della prima serie di dragon ball e c'era questa canzone

Worst arc in Dragon Ball? Are you fucking kidding me? A million times better than anything GT and Super gave us. Also better than most of Z. You're not about to tell me the Buu Saga is better than the Red Ribbon Saga, right?
