Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love Stanwyck and Robert Young. I never thought I'd find this movie, and I loved it.

I was watching this on the Roku channel and they ended the movie right after (uncle Sam) Robert Young started his Patriotic speech at about 1:11:00! (why would they do that?) I searched for the movie and thankfully found it here so I could see the ending. Some things never change. Thank you for sharing this. 👍

Thank God for some real good acting and a really great story.... No sex or violence just a good movie.... Shame they don't make them anymore.....

Pretty funny.Obviously inspired by "It Happened One NIght".

A conservative Republican, Stanwyck opposed the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt. She felt that if someone from her disadvantaged background had risen to success, others should be able to prosper without government intervention or assistance.[92] For Stanwyck, "hard work with the prospect of rich reward was the American way." She became an early member of the Motion Picture Alliance for the Preservation of American Ideals (MPA) after its founding in 1944. The mission of this group was to "combat ... subversive methods [used in the industry] to undermine and change the American way of life."[93][94] It opposed both communist and fascist influences in Hollywood. She publicly supported the investigations of the House Un-American Activities Committee, and her husband Robert Taylor testified as a friendly witness.[95] Stanwyck supported Thomas E. When they were chased into Mexico how did Robert know there was a side road round the next corner?

Used the same plot as "It happened one night" but jacked up with anti-communism. I enjoy Stanwyck but the plot was so ludicrous. In view of Hitler coming to power in 1933 and this was in 1935, and Russia was essential to winning the war, right wingers must have been involved with this film.
