Thanx again, Red Skelton Museum, for sharing another little gem! Red was such a wonderful person, such physical comedy, such beautiful artwork, so joyful in his work. RIP, Red, and thanx so so very much for the magic, music, and memories. If bringing laughter and joy to millions was just you doing your job, you did it, and you did it very very well, and we are all the better for it.

Amazing performance given by Tallulah Bankhead, and sadly one of her last on television. She was one of the great ladies of the American Stage and very good in Alfred Hitchcock's film, "Lifeboat".

Tallullah was legendary. But by this time it was obvious she used liquid courage on the set. You can hear the same courage from one of her last performances on Batman just over a year after this was taped but she always knew her lines and performed brilliantly

This is awesome. I’ve been wanting to see this for quite some time. Unfortunately, Tallulah needs subtitles.

I found that playing it at 1.25 speed helped in understanding Tallulah"s dialog.

@@rharvey2124 Southern accents were always a bit harder to understand and Tallulah Bankhead had an Alabama accent which is very southern.

Not a great example of classic television, of vintage media Americana. The only worthwhile aspect of it is Miss Bankhead, who, by this time, was, as is painfully visible, living the effects of four decades of round-the-clock drinking, drugging and debauchery. She was only 63 when this was recorded, yet the cardio-pulmonary distress (which eventually killed her in 1968, as she succumbed to a routine bout of pneumonia) was evident in her labored movements and strained and almost breathless delivery here. All of that in consideration, though, she still commands her scenes. She still holds that presence. The problem is her lines, inane and hackneyed. The script is amateur-hour and spectacularly unfunny, for all of Skelton's painful mincing and mugging. His 'oh-so-wholesome' goof-ball shtick is more cringey than comical. To label it 'dated' would be inadequate. "Oh, look. It's Red Skelton wearing a silly hat, making a laboriously overwrought facial grimace. Isn't this FUNNY?" Uh.....NO. If not for Miss Bankhead's appearance, albeit brief, this would have hardly been worth preserving. And, please, do not employ the he-was-a-clown-not-a-comedian-per-se routine. He wasn't funny - That is the bottom line. Television in the '50s and '60s was a graveyard of ex-vaudevillians who had bottomed-out on their attempts at film notoriety and were scooped-up by television. Tedious and time-wasting.
