he was always my favorite pitcher growing up. i started as a young sox fan when martinez was in his last seasons with us but i was always so fond of josh and even clay buchholz and papelbon. i loved their mechanics and josh is actually from my home town and we see him around from time to time and he is such a nice guy
I really appreciate how professional all these people were when they were interviewed. Like Tom Hamilton, who politely commented that he thought Fausto Carmona got squeezed a little bit in game 6. I respect that.
After the 2004 ALCS, the understanding that this team could win and all those years of losing and blown games were no longer a part of the Sox psyche, had hit home. 4 WS wins in 15 years, this team is on fire.
Why? Good memories watching this series on the spare porch in CT with Sean Pat and friends and miss those days would do anything to see them again idk how to get over it without the one I like being seen
Eric gagne was a debacle after being a huge trade when it happened and thought this red sox team would win multiple titles but team of the century so far...
Honestly, 07 wasn't that painful to me. Primarily cause Boston was the better team. I knew we would lose the series if we didn't win game 5. Sabbathia was not a good match up against those hitters and it gave them momentum. I seriously can't even look at pictures of 97. That one still ticks me off.
I think around the 10th game of the 2007 season I knew the Red Sox were going to win the WS that year... Amazingly solid and plenty of depth on that team. Great balance between veterans and hungry newcomers...
The True Cy Young Winner(Josh Beckett) beat the AL Cy Young Award Winner(C.C. Sabathia) not once but twice in that ALCS, especially in Game 5 when the Indians went into that game up 3-1 in that series.
CC was the better pitcher during the regular season that year. All Becket did was win 1 more game than CC. CC pitched 40 more innings, had a lower ERA and more K’s on less run support.
@@winser21 Indians lost by 9 runs in the last game. 16’ they went to extra innings in Game 7 of the WORLD SERIES. Think that’s a LITTLE more heartbreaking.
They blew a 2-0 lead to the Sox in the '99 ALDS, blew a 3-1 lead to the Sox in this video.. Blew a 3-1 lead to the Cubs in the WS. And blew a 2-0 lead to the Skankees last year in the ALDS. Pretty rough man.
As a Tigers fan I like to again thank the Red Sox for beating the Indians! Had me scared when they were up 3-1, because I believed then and now the winner was winning the World Series.
It's funny that he said it all happens in cycles and Terry is in Cleveland and they been kicking our asses lately lol Sox just lost there second game in a row against them...I think it's gonna be Cleveland and Red Sox winning and going to the WS 2018 against the CUBS
@@ericsigersmith2831 EXACTLY! After the score was tied in the 3rd Inning, Pedro pitched 6 Perfect Inning to send the Red Sox to the ALCS where the Yankees would eventually clobber them. Five years later, Boston’s luck would change.
Fun Fact Cleveland was so close to going to the World Series in 2007 and would have Won the World Series in 2007 if they did not blow a 3-1 Lead in the ALCS! Then Cleveland Finally go to the World Series in 2016 and Lose to the Cubs after being up 3-1! Go figure!
People like to go on and on about how Atlanta should have a lot more than two World Series titles with all those postseason appearances but I guarantee that fans of the “Guardians”, Rangers, Rays, Padres, Mariners or Brewers would trade places with Braves fans in an instant.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Absolutely broke my heart! Especially after seeing the gutless performance given by the Rockies in the WS. 4zip and Colorado never led once in any game. Worst WS team ever! *lifelong Tribe fan*
Phillip Heard they had an 8 game rest period because they swept both Phillies and D-backs. And they won 21 of 22 games to get to the World Series. Maybe if the Indians wouldn’t of choked then the World Series would of been better JS
@@thegoatcr2338 No doubt the Tribe choked, but they won 3 games and had the lead at one point in 3 others. CR got swept and never had the lead in a single game. Neither of us as fans have anything to brag about.
Are u serious??not taking anything away from them,umm...that is exactly what they were trying to do,Sox ripped off 3 straight and ur talking about 1 day off and still at home if I remember correctly??RIDICULOUSNESS!!!
