now it's sundowner! yes this might seem rushed, I'm just so bad at drawing sundowner and drawing him as a stickman just doesn't work considering how he's built like a truck #metalgearrising #metalgearrisingrevengeance #animation
I, too, expirience an extreme bloodlust upon seeing a man experiencing an extreme bloodlust upon seeing a man expiriencing an extreme bloodlust upon seeing a happy couple enjoying their day
Fun fact: When the song says something warm and pure, it actually means war so yeah it’s a red sun over a bloody battlefield bc sundowner L O V E S W A R
@@bechill2174 Well... True, but that wouldn't be as menacing, now, would it? Besides, they have Combat-Mechs in-universe and in-game, so it still works.
Not just therapy but any sort of attempts to help mental issues that lead to violence. He thinks it's completely natural, shouldn't be suppressed, should actually be openly encouraged, and that not enough people are that way. That too many look for a cure to being dangerous to others
With the whole love thing with Sundowner I kind of perceive it as his own twisted form of love. He mistakes his hate for love because that's all he knows.
this song really does capture just how evil Sundowner is, and how he embraces it, haveing a fun time with his demons rather than killing them. Oh and he's *FUCKIN' INVINCIBLE!*
I don't care if he has the easiest boss fight of the game, Sundowner has to be one of my favorite villains ever (along with Monsoon, Armstrong and Sam of course)
@@yeetmaaster747 Yes he does. Born poor in Alabama, top grades but no money to get into college so he enlisted. The course of his service took him through the most brutal conflicts in the Middle East, and he got so good at following orders he decided to make up a couple dozen of his own! On the plus side, Sundowner would never deny when asked if American personnel would commit war crimes. Mostly because he was probably the one doing them.
Seeing sundowner smile (before he pulls out his goofy ahh scissors) at the cute couple in the thumbnail makes it look like sundowner is a dad to one of the partners and finally happy that they got a partner of their own
So simple in fact i had to actually put an effort in to get to the second stage instead of dropping his health down to zero while stile in the first stage because I wanted to listen to the song
Fun fact: to get an S rank on Sundowner, you need to kill 2 enemies in addition to Sundowner himself. This can come in the form of the helicopters that are omnipresent throughout the battle, or the basic enemies that pop up when he grabs the pole. Or you could just no-hit him lol
The way I see the chorus is this. "When the wind is slow" = Depicts the slow advancements that war has given to humanity. "And the fire's hot" = Depicts countries fighting over land AKA war. "The vulture waits to see what rots." = Depicts the amount of bloodshed that war gives, the vultures having no other options but to eat humans. "Oh how pretty, all the scenery" = Sundowner's view on the bloodshed of the battlefield. "This is nature's sacrifice." = Depicts the sacrifices that nature gives to the humanity just for the better of the other countries. "When the wind blows through with a brisk attack." = Depicts a hail of bullets flying across the wind. "The reptile tail ripped from it's back." = Depicts the animals slowly evolving to fit the nature of humanity. "When the sun sets" = Depicts the war being over. "We will not forget the red sun over paradise." = Represents history. Red sun being war and paradise being nature.
"when the wind is slow and the fire's hot" =are the ideal conditions for an an unforgiving environment because the wind aids in fanning the flames rather than blowing it away, its a metaphor to the perfect conditions for conflict, and it is during this time that opportunists just waits on the background waiting to see what happenes to whomever enters the blaze who are represented by the lines "the vulture waits to see what rots" "Oh how pretty, all the scenery" = its pretty because it is terribly majestic the amount of things we create to take part in the blaze and the amount of things we destroy as we are in the blaze. This is where human coordinated excellence and depravity is displayed in equal measure and it is glorious in its power. "this is nature's sacrifice" = this is most poignant line, conflict exists because nature deemed it so and the people we kill in conflict is us doing human sacrifice to nature's goal of survival of the fittest. "when the wind blows through with a brisk attack" depicts the action of conflict. "the reptile tail is ripped from its back" = some reptiles have the ability to remove their tails to save themselves but in this scenario the reptile isn't even given the choice to surrender something, it tail literally taken from it, kinda like how in conflict people who could have given up something just to survive are not even given the chance to negotiate "When the sun sets" = Depicts the war being over, I agree. " we will not forget the red sun over paradise" = is basically the omen for conflict.
This animation: an ordinary dragon ball fight Mean while the game: no hits taken, 4 shields broken in less than a minute, 50% of sundowner's health gone
I love all the shots of silhouettes with one defining color or no defining colors. Especially showing Raiden with his glowing red eye implying he’s fully embracing his demons whilst fighting someone who also happens to fully embrace his inner demons. Plus all those red sun shots just look fucking amazing like this
I REALLY love the detail of Sundowner not actually having irises in that shot where him and Raiden are staring each other down. It feels like a perfect addition to his character design to make him feel like the cold, merciless murderer he is. Nothing behind the eyes, as they say.
It's honestly a real shame that one if the bosses with one strongest theme songs is the weakest in the whole game. Not his fault, devs let him down. He deserved more...even though he's terrible person but he knows it and accepts it.
Well, instead of being a character with a complex ideology/philosophy (like Monsoon being an Objective Nihilist etc.) his philosophy is basically being an zynical sadist. Maybe thats why he didnt get much love from the devs

@the vengeful one but she is also a much earlier boss.
That glorious beast is literally Sundowner. It's got shields. It could definitely split a small mech in two. And when bastion mode activities, and you've got Trebuchets, you are indeed, fucking invincible.
I love how the music l characterises the bosses, he sees himself as a bird of prey supported by the war machine, he’s at peace with war being his purpose he embraces war like a passionate lover, finding peace being a warmonger, his paradise is the battlefield
1:03 Ok seriously this part deeply hurt in these dark times... Currently when i see / hear about a forest fire i always think about global warming. And the quote : "Nature's sacrifice" perfectly fit with the need of Humanity to grow, evolve and to exploit the ressources within our Earth, within the environments that we sadly destroy as a consequence =That's literally the nature's sacrifice for own "good"
Personally I always heard "violence breeds within ourselves" instead of "find the peace within ourselves" and I think it fits the theme of the song better
I love how it expresses how sundowner was dominating raiden most of the fight in both phases until raiden used his brain and defeated sundowner thats how i think the fight canonically went
Red sun, red sun over paradise Red sun, red sun over paradise Golden rays of the glorious sunshine Sending down such a blood-red light Now, the animals slowly retreat to the shadows, out of sight Arid winds blow across the mountains Giving flight to the birds of prey In the distance machines come to transform Eden, day by day Only love is with us now Something warm and pure Find the peace within ourselves No need for a cure When the wind is slow, when the fire's hot The vulture waits to see what rots Oh, how pretty, all the scenery This is nature's sacrifice When the air blows through with a brisk attack The reptile tail ripped from its back When the sun sets We will not forget the red sun over paradise
hey man those 2 last videos were pretty cool, just wanted to say that you dont have to rush yourself, take your time until you are satisfied whit your own work thats the most important part
