I always expose for the highlights to get the best image out of this camera (avoid any highlights clipping). The GIOscope RAW exposure false color is the best tool to see what the sensor actually sees. It never fails me :)
Damn, that real 21:9 looks amazing on 21:9 monitor. I wish more mainstream people would switch from 16:9 to 21:9. Movies are captured and presented in 21:9 since 1955 ? But instead of making a 21:9 everything, we made something called 16:9. Q_Q. I need the future now.
+RED Digital Cinema an issue for internet content: is there anything to soften the effect of compression, like youtube has done on *darks* , even at 4K this videos dark reds and deep blacks get banded like a coral snake drawn by a pixel artist.
And... this is why I will always refuse to shot into prores... do what ever you can in location perfection it later, save the creative process, nail it with exposure raw, get the look later... im proponent to one video shoot it general lighting, then turn it 10 dramatically different ways only using metadata adjustments no power windows, and yes it is possible. try that on prores and not bring any artifacts and spending 5x more time.
really? interesting. Still rocking the MX sensor, and I'd rate that sensor at 320 tungsten, so there hasn't been much improvement with warmer color temps two generations later?
