@@rani_mishra5637 Yep I do know that (never said otherwise), but Irene in particular just gets so much sh- for her body even though she clearly puts in effort to take care of herself. She’s never fluctuated at all, not even as she started to get older (btw she’s not old, so don’t @ me) which is something that’s really difficult to keep up. It’s personal opinion but I respect those with strong discipline more than I care about natural body proportion which can’t change.

Wow Irene got 70% yet she’s consider one of the top visuals of all time. It really goes to show facial and body harmony is more important in beauty the standards. Beauty standards differ from county to country and are usually routed in historical events or superstitions that don’t apply to modern times yet the belief is still there (take fair skin for example: it showed wealth because only poor people worked outside) You don’t need to adhere to them to be considered beautiful. I bet Irene is beautiful in any country she steps in.
True, beauty standars are so different everywhere ! In France, we had the same white skin beauty because it showed that we didn't have to work outside. But now, having a "dark skin" like Kai from Exo (i dont think it's dark but whatever) is the beauty because it shows that we are enough rich to spend some time at the beach for exemple

Tbh korean standard beauty is no longer like that coz if you will watch non-kpop fan korean's survey if who's the prettiest in rv it's always between Irene and Seulgi, they were recently named Most Visual Couple of Kpop. There's a trending post back then why Seulgi is very popular and most of the comments there have said that it's because she's very pretty with her monolids (having monolids is not pretty to koreans before, but Seulgi is gorgeous with it so their perspective has changed) She also has the most proportionate body among RV that she is always included in Best Body survey voted by the Male and Female Idols themselves.
Monolids are not considered automatically ugly by Koreans. It's more about the overall facial harmony. JYP is famous for having beautiful idols with monolids such as Sohee, Dahyun and Yeji. Male Idols too like Rain, Junho, JB and Hunjin. Edit: How could I forget BTS 4,5/7 have monolids.
Minju is 90% of the Standards but is not considered a better visual than Irene to Koreans shows how Koreans don’t really know much about their own standards
i think the koreans admire irenes beauty not only because she fits all the standards but also because of her charisma and her facial expressions. she has really charming facial expressions. (im not comparing her to minju tho, i havent seen a lot from her because im not an iz*one stan but shes really really pretty :D) also i think people give more attention to irenes visuals than anyone else because shes from sm and theyre known for having really good visuals
Joy doesn't have a very striking or unique visual that leaves a strong impression. But she does have nice harmony between her features and is still very very pretty. She has a very classic beauty.
I think Seulgi has an hourglass shape actually, she has broader shoulders but they match her hips and she has a very small waist. Not an inverted triangle in my opinion.
She is nowhere near hourglass, and it isn't a bad thing but she is more of an inverted traingle/rectangle as her waist and hips are pretty narrow and even, her shoulders are the largest point of her body

these videos really arent accurate. irene and wendy(before plastic surgery) are considered some of the top visuals. joy and yeri are often praised too. the only one who doesnt get as much praise for her face is seulgi (i still think she is gorgeous) but even then she is often praised for her body

The major things that you don't take in consideration is the most important, Harmony. From what I heard, Korean people attached a lot of importance to the overall face harmony. Some ppl may not cover all the main point but will be considered prettier than someone who perfectly fit into the standard.

Wendy was actually 70% KBS back in the day because she had a V shaped jaw. Back in the day, Wendy was preferred the visual over Irene , so I think SM took action and made her get a failed jaw surgery, and made Irene prettier to solidify her title. That's the theory I have. Because Wendy's jaw was so sharp and pretty back in the day and Wendy would not want to get rid of it. I think it's SM'S fault, not Wendy's. Now she is more often bullied for her round face.

Even tho Irene has a really pretty face she is very very short and the beauty standard is to be at least 1.68 cm and above! The taller the better!
