I love the Lopez gag as much as the next RvB fan. It's freakin' hilarious. But for shits and giggles, with the brown armor, if they ever decide to have him speak English... Voiced by Ray Narvaez Jr.
Sarge: "Lopez. Activate Speech Unit." Lopez; (Rough Translation) "Greetings, I am a module robotic unit created by Control to Build, Construct, and Repair any, and all, Vehicles, Weaponry, and any other mechanical devices. I will do what I can to serve and make you 'happy'. My name is Module Mechanical Repair Robot. But, since you call me Lopez, then My Name is Lopez." Sarge; "Lopez, speak ENGLISH!" Lopez; "Impossible. It appears that my Speaker Box has malfunctioned, and I am unable to speak fluent English. Even if I understand you, my main Speaking Function is Spanish." Sarge: "Lopez! I order you to speak a Language we can understand." Lopez; "I cannot." and as for that last part, I think you got it.
Nathaniel Cruz-Reed Here's an actual rough translation. And with rough translation I don't mean total fucking invented bullshit like yours, I mean I'm going to translate what they meant because that Spanish is broken and full of errors. "Good day, thanks for activating my speech function. I'm build number 01011374823. My name is Lopez." "My English processor has a malfunction. I can only speak Spanish." "Negative." "Yes sir. Thanks."
I totally missed the dynamic of how, with Church gone, Tucker and Caboose get along well at first, until they start to irritate each other. Usually they let Church cuss the other out, now they have to deal with each other without Church's leadership
+EntrancedSnow70 i mean that in this season, he doesnt know what lopez is saying, but then in the halo 2 seasons, tells the others he took high school spanish, and he thinks he knows what lopez is saying. so if he took high school spanish, why wouldnt he know what lopez is saying right now?
I am in high school Spanish 1, and one of the words we just learned was Alto. So them mentioning that makes me laugh. I'm glad I decided to go back and watch every season of RvB, starting at one.
@Devin petrick No, "Me llamo" means "I call myself", stemming from the verb "llamar", meaning "to call". Putting "me" in front of it dictates to whom the speaker is doing the action: his/her self, and the "o" suffix dictates who is doing the action: myself or "yo" in Spanish. "Mi nombre es" means "my name is".
"And the fact that he sleeps standing up and drinks motor oil didn't get your attention?" "Well the motor oil thing was a little odd, but i thought he was trying to impress me." haha
This show is genius! XD " And the fact they sleep standing up and drink motor-oil didn't get you're attention" " well, I thought the motor-oil was a bit odd. I just thought he was trying to impress me." it gets funnier the more you think about it X''D

Our high school spanish teacher got fired for openly swearing at the students in English, Spanish, and French. There were also times when it sounded like she was yelling in one of the "ese" languages. She was never replaced. I hope Lopez swears a lot so I can understand him.
With only a few minutes of research, a non Spanish speaker came up with this: Alto means "Height" it can also be used to indicate that some one is "Tall," and the military use it as "Halt." I wound assume that they mean to stop moving and stand "Tall" at attention.
