Red Wing Beckman 9011 in Black Cherry Featherstone Leather 

My favorite boot in my collection. The more you wear them, the more character they get with each scuff. These are my do-everything boots.

I still have mine sitting in the closet. Took them out last night and treated them (including under the shank) 😉🤙 since the rainy season is upon us. Put them back just not ready to wear them yet such a beautiful boot.

I bought them last year in NY. Right the next day I went for a little walk in the new boots. But the little walk took me a bout 5 h in town. No problem at all. They are so comfortable right from the start!

Awesome boots. It's a shame that they're being discontinued. I love my 9011's, they look great with grey chinos/denim.

I emailed RW this week asking if they are bringing back the Beckman in Black Cherry. The reply was Yes in early October. The style # will be 9419.

Just purchased another new pair, for sale in UK with cigar versions. £369! Got my new ones for £250 with shoe cream and 3 pairs of waxed laces! Had to buy them, they are wicked! And they fit perfect! Worse than drugs watching your channel! Keep up the supply! Just ordered the Alpine iron rangers!

Due to your channel I am now addicted to Red Wing boots! Just got a pair of the Beckman in black cherry from Sierra. Much easier breakin than iron rangers! I am thinking about having speed hooks installed for the upper 3 eyelets. What do you think?

I knew you'd come around on these! These were my 2nd Red Wings ever. A nice split between semi-formal and a typical Heritage boot. Despite the thick leather, they are also much easier to break in than the Iron Rangers.

Breaking these in took a while. One day they were fine, the next day not so much. Now they are really comfy. I immediatly changed the laces to the red/yellow Red Wing ones. I never use the top two holes on my boots so no complaints regarding length of the laces.

Finally located a pair of Beckman 9011s and they were delivered today! They may be the finest looking boots I have ever seen! And FYI, they’re surprisingly comfortable right out of the box!

I just picked up a pair of these Cherry Featherstone Beckmans from the Nordstrom Rack store near me. Just under $190, and they look great. I think they say they were made in Nov 2016. Another pair of Copper Rough and Tough Blacksmiths I just got earlier this year were made in March of 2019. So these Beckman boots seem to have lived in a warehouse for quite a while compared with their cousins.

Anyway, was wondering if there is any list that shows all the heritage boots that were ever made along with the number of the boots. The Beckman 9011 is probably the best looking, most versatile boot on the planet! I own a pair of the black 9014s, but they’re obviously not as versatile as these. Footwear perfection!

Hi, I love the color of them (I'm glad I found this video with them) and for the exposed mid sole leather I think some "Horse grease" (in supermarket in Europe are less than 3€ those jars) would be very useful as a protection layer (Panama Jack's boots use them all the time against snow and rain). i had the beckmans but thought they were to heavy but i do admit once they get some scuffs here and there they look amazing

I've had them for about 3-4 months. Bitch to break in. Bick 4 will soften the leather a bit. Especially the ankle rise which can have an uncomfortable rub when walking over uneven surfaces. And it doesn't darken the beautiful black cherry leather. Good luck with the break in.

What’s more comfortable The Blacksmiths or the Beckmann’s!

Such a clean boot. I wouldn’t have thought it would be that versatile, but it was working great with ever pairing. I need to see if I can find some Instagram pics of some with a little age on them. #beingthatboot

Heard these were being discontinued so I bought a pair a month or two ago. They were easier to break in than my iron rangers and my roughnecks.

I just order 9011 yesterday cause this video. Damnn. Now I have 5 pairs of Redwing, one year ago I think the 3rd will be the last.

Just bought the 9014 as I knew they're on the way out, might have to go for these as well, absolutely beautiful! Your collection is incredible man, I'm aware you're a boot guy but you should go wild and consider the 3103 or 3104, they'd be ideal for you in summer Manhattan!

Are you ever planning to review the 1907s or 8883s? I'm planning to get the 8883s for my next pair. And I love the Norwegian welt that they use.

Hey CJ, I just picked up a pair of them from eBay. I want to get the red wing 3340 but unfortunately I can’t get them in the U.K. you say the 9011 are a nice leather like on the 3340. Have you any more thoughts on the 3340 vs 9011? I would love your thoughts. When you say you are not a fan of how it ages, would this mean you would not recommend this? Thanks in advance for your experience and advice.

Break in was a bitch. I love mine. Needed to change the laces. Too short.

I just actually got the 9015's in the mail the other day.. They almost look exactly like the cooper mocs you're wearing... I'm not even really sure the difference. Anyway I love the work you do on your channel 👍

This was my first pair of Red Wings and they started my obsession with the brand; not quite like you CJ, but I’m on my way. Incidentally, I’m in NYC this weekend, any suggestions as to where I might find any deals ?

I have these they are about 5 years old and the wood is very dark how can I keep it bright when I buy my next pair?

I missed out. Really sad Red Wing stopped making this model. The sole is, for me, what sets it apart from the blacksmith. Mini log sole looks weird and will wear down fast.

Also nice diver 65 ; ) at least I think that’s what it is, wasn’t able to get a good look at it.

Nice review, Had my pair for a couple of months already still trying to break in. Fyi I use the Red Wing Red Mahogany Polish (95179) on tips of boots for a nice shine.

Had these for about 3 years now. I'd say it aged pretty well, although I treated mine like my other dress boots. Do you think it is necessary to put shoe trees in your red wings, especially the moc toes?

Question. I tried on a pair of 9075’s yesterday but I’m still deciding between them and the Beckmans. I know, I need both😀. But until then do the Beckmans run the same as far as size is concerned? The place didn’t have Beckmans to try. I tried on Blacksmiths and there was more room in the toes. Great videos btw. Thanks.

you can put that sole on any last, the moc toes look quite sharp with it.

is it me or the asian release of beckman have less pronounced toes? Just got a pair of 9011, love the color and all. The toe box seems slightly more bulbous than my pair of 9414 beckman. Am i imagining this?

Anyone else have the rubber lug outsole cracking? Wearing them on dry days is fine but when it's wet or rainy, water seeps into the midsole.

Can you still get the boot paste, can find it on the Red Wing website? Is it the same as the leather conditioner, if not, can you recommend any alternatives?

I have these very same boots - they are great but I wish the sole covered the entire bottom of the shoe. I personally prefer the Blacksmith over this.

Has someone heard about a Red Wing 8165 with rount toe? a local guy offer a very old stock from 09 for like 110 Euro brand new. They are black with a white sole kind of similar to a rover model but they have the red wing symbol on the sides. Is this like a cheap series from Red Wing or is it ok to buy them?

How comfortable are the Beckmans? I found black Beckmans in 10d and cherry in 10e ( my perfect size) on Nordstrom rack and they are not seconds. Really looking forward to them. Why is it that i am able to find e size on Nordstrom but not directly through redwing? I really want 875 in 10e any idea where I can get it at? Thanks

Have those same ones break in really wasn’t bad at all, not even a little. And the soles are so comfy right been the iron ranger and 875 softness-wise.

Ok so.... I find that for the price, the quality and build of redwing doesn’t hold a candle to White’s or Nick’s (or Frank’s) Now I understand that this is all for the redwing fans but I mean, I’ve owned plenty of redwings and I’ve owned some whites and nicks. For the price, the latter cannot be beat. EVEN though the Whites cost more, you can find some whites for the same price as full priced redwings. So IMHO the ONLY way buying a pair of redwings can be justified is if they are seconds and around $150-$200 All that said, their new Ebony Iron Rangers look super sexy... but I won’t swing $330 for them!

These absolutely destroyed my heels , 3 years later the scars are still visible.

Biggest mistake anyone ever made was NOT conditioning he leather on the sole. Oh but those boots look incredible. Why can’t redwing make iron rangers and all their boots with that sole??
