The latino culture is so beautiful, and intimate, sometimes it is odd to me that some people take it the wrong way. Our language is romance, as is our dancing, and culture in general. Hi I am from Mexico and the video "despasito" was filmed in Puerto Rico in the Caribe not in South America. Latinoamérica is divided in North America where is Mexico, the Caribe, Central America and South America around 21 latin countries.

Hey guys, this was shot in "La Perla" San Juan, Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico is the smallest island of the 3 bigger island of the carribean. The main singer is Luis Fonsi, the rapper is Daddy Yankee (one of the best Reggeaton singer from Puerto Rico) the girl is Zuleyka Rivera she is puertorrican and the 2006 Miss Unnivers. The main guitar used in this song is "El Cuatro" Puertorriqueno, meaning "the four" named like that because it was a 4 string guitar but evolved to a 5 double string guitar for a total of 10 strings. It is our national instrument. the song is a fusion of Pop, reggeaton and folklore music from Puerto Rico. We are very proud of our culture thats why Luis Fonsi wanted this video to show it. The people on the streets, laughing, singing, dancing having a good time. the scene on the "bar" where they all dancing to the rythm of the "congas" ... this take roots on the dance of "bomba" y "plena" very folkorick music. The video really represent the extract of the puertorrican culture as is right on this millenium. I hope this info helps!

I think that most of the comments you guys make are really awful... Here in Latin America we stand for being who we really are, not only for our looks. Maybe in Korea the idol stands out a lot but many of your idols that have skill go through many operations to look good while here we believe that idols that show as they are is really good because they are not a lie, they don't deceive their audience into making them think that looks its all that matters. In Latin America we have the belief that if someone that looks alIke has talent he might try to achieve success using his talent not depending only on his looks, in Korea on the other part the looks are even more important than the talent and that's your way of seeing thing but don't critize our culture because we believe everyone is perfect the way we are. (Yeah, I'm explicitely telling this to the girl that said "I hope he(Luis Fonsi) doesn't appear anymore", that was a mean comment)

at the begging is NOT a guitar is a Quatro smaller than a guitar but with better sound, a Jibaro from Puertorro came with that instrument and not all musicians know how to play it, but i really think it sounds better than the guitar but is limited to some other sounds in the big guitar. Now, Despacito Is in Puerto Rico, island of the Caribbean, not South America, Reggaeton the way we know it now originated in Puerto Rico. It used to be called "underground". Then recently, talented singers from Colombia, in South America have emerged, such as Maluma.

Idk why but this video and some others appeared on my recommended list xD It is funny to see the reactions from the other side of the world. I am not latina , I am from the Balkans but I am used to Latin music because I listen to it for a long time now. And the videos aren't new to me. But reactions from Asian people are so funny and cool. I guess it is a culture shock. I wasn't into K-pop ( especially before PSY) but when I watched some video clips it was sometimes weird for me....but you guys have really good productions. I think I will start listen some k-pop ;)
