I changed the shock springs on my Ascent.. Removed the internal springs and swapped the outer springs with the Losi Mini T springs recommended by many. Very pleased with the results.
I have both. Id recommend 1200kv Fusion se, take out internal springs, losi mini t springs, and the dsm carbon fiber chassis. The chassis seems to let it flex better, and takes weight off. The 1200 se has better slow speed control then the 1800, and is one of the best upgrades imo. I like what you did with the look!

Because you already have gear reduction in your portals, the hobby wing fusion 1800 se Or for cheaper a brushed hobby wing 1080 esc will get you low speed control
