@@DerbyCityRC no problem dude! Ya, it just has that stout truck feel. The arms, chassis are rock solid no play or give where the pins and everything meet, really stoked on that! That’s where my Outcast 4s could use some help, better design or beefier materials. Outcast chassis #3 is about to get ordered up 🥹 Oh an I was going to include the link stuff in the actual video but I got distracted out filming and it went super long to add in later 🫣 sorry it had to be like dat 😣 not how I was wanting to do it but I’m a goon 🤦🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️
It’s a cool little truck. It’s got to be the noisiest RC truck I have ever heard. I’ve watched several videos on it sounds the same on all of them. Keep up the good work, man I really like your channel
Thanks man that’s awesome to hear 🤘🏼🤘🏼😁 yea, I’m still pretty new to the plastic based rigs. It deff is noisy, according to Razer RC they need to be popped open for a shim to be removed. Gear mesh is a tad on the snug side as well it seems. Deff going to go though and check the diffs etc. bash on, thanks for stopping by!
Glad it survived. I passed on this one. My last buy was the Rival MT8 by Team Associated. A few flaws with turnbuckles and susp arms, but that included updated extra parts in the box. It was also $349 from over $600. I run it on 4S mostly but it will take 6S.
It’s a fun small basher! The crazy thing with the Team Associated Rival was the 1/10 is a solid truck! The 1/8 though has been plagued with issues unfortunately. My problem with running a 6s stunt truck on 4s is it drastically reduces your air control. It’s fine if you aren’t jumping but I don’t just cruise around, I’m jumping and stunting. I predict Redcat comes out with an all new 6s platform to complement their 8s Vigilante and his 4s thing. Thanks for stopping by! 😜🤘🏼🤘🏼🚀🔥
Thanks much appreciated! This thing is such a blast, it’s nice to mix it up and try a new brand. Loving this, hoping to get the bigger Vigilante next! Hope to keep your RC addiction fueled with plenty of crazy content hanks for subbing it means a lot 🤘🏼🤘🏼🚀🔥
Right? I was bummed to see he didn’t get one to review as it’s deff in his wheelhouse. C’mon @RedcatracingAZ how could you overlook our boy Derby City RC?? 😜🤘🏼🤘🏼🚀🔥
Thanks, I tried to hit as many different spots as possible. The last one, Hamburger Hill can be brutal haha I’m kind of glad it tapped out before the slaughter 😂
@@CanadianRC96 it’s been raining a lot here I hope it doesn’t slow them down the construction too much. The short arms and beefy pin attachment points should help it a lot in off camber lands etc. do you have many skateparks where you live?
Dude. I thought the same thing about mine. Put different tires on it. It’s better with a meatier tire for all that loose dirt and sand. But it’s a fun truck for sure. She moves nicely. Just needs more rotation. That tire change is seriously a game changer with this truck.
Nice, so what tires are you running? I have been trying on stuff I have handy and not finding anything yet. Are you running hex extensions or something?
excellent video brou. this question is from the far side... The first locating you were at, looks like a motocross track, could this be where Ben Lamay grow up riding. he was the only pro MX racer from Alaska. like 10-12-15 years ago. I'm curious, i notice your rear shock protectors in the rear are in the backwards. Is it spoze to protect the rear shocks from the debris from the front wheels roost. maybe not. look funky to me. awesome vid. Keep up the videos from up north, always looking forward to them. Keep em rolling. KER. Have fun
Thanks man, yes this is the motocross track, but I couldn’t say if he rode here. Not any real moto scene here if it was the case I’m sure he blasted down to the lower 48 as soon as he started getting serious. 🤷🏼♂️ The rear shocks was a result of me trying to see if my shock shafts were threaded on or pressed 😆 I couldn’t really tell because I only tool it off the arm. I told myself I would pull them off later and take a better look. I was in a hurry to go rip haha thanks for the support, more content coming up! 😜🤘🏼🤘🏼🚀🔥
Love it! It's definitely a little ripper. Reminds me of a rival mt10 or a Vorteks. I bet it will do awesome at that new skatepark. That bmx park looks like it a blast too. My least favorite RC I've ever owned was a red cat blackout sc pro. So other than the crawlers, I've been kind of leary of red cat ever since. But this little truck looks pretty decent. Great video. 👍🤘
I haven’t even thought about getting a Redcat until the Vigilante. After watching it for a bit, it seems like they are going all-in on making real deal legit bashers. Deff didn’t expect that! Haha definitely going to run this sucker at the skatepark, this steering should be crazy there! Can’t wait to get this thing back up and running, now to see how the replacement shocks do 😆 glad to see you buddy hope your feeling well 👊🏼
Nice bash session! I love the look of this truck. What street tires are you running in this video? I'm having trouble finding aftermarket tires for this platform.
Thanks! They are Pro-Line Prime tires, they are older. The pro-line part number is #10116 They were for the Proline truck they had for a bit that was a 1/10 scale basher called the proline pro-mt they also had a short course version. They sported 1/8 size gear and was good for 6s. So it had 17mm hexes. Since that truck has long been discontinued they swapped them to raid style wheel and made them 12/14mm. The hub is removable so you could swap in a 17mm…
@@gamedogrc there are lots about this that I prefer over the Arrma platform. The oversized hardware all over, the monster sized diffs. The beefiness around the hinge pins etc. I’m hoping this lineup grows, a couple more versions would really be a cherry on top! My replacement shocks JUST got here so I’m off to rip this some more! Thanks for the sub and the comment 🤘🏼🤘🏼💪🏼💥 much appreciated, and more to come for sure! Haha 😁
Ya man killer budget basher! I didn’t want to really air it out since the shocks are prone to fail on this early batch. Once they get sorted out we shall see what it really can take haha Yea there was a shock shaft failure and a broken shock piston both fronts of course 😆🤦🏼♂️ warranty is quick to swap em out I hear 🤷🏼♂️
Yes, I use a pair of GoPro 11’s. The one I wear on my head has the media mod. The camera is part of it but more importantly is the settings etc. Edited w/ CapCut
@@StraitJacketRC OK, nice bro. Thanks. I need one of those lol. Either that or get a headstrap for my phone that one of my friends told me about on Amazon.
@@lilproto9876 yep np. Just be aware I learned the hard way that you can’t use this media mod attachment with the GoPro head strap that they currently sell. The screw to mount it to the head strap comes in from the wrong side. I’m using the last version GoPro head strap. The media mod is key for helping cut wind noise etc. good luck filming it’s tougher to do good than some make it look haha 🤘🏼🤘🏼 any questions or whatever don’t hesitate to ask I don’t know much but I’m down to help 🤷🏼♂️
I was already looking at fitment for the motor 😆 realistically it struggles for grip, it spins a lot where I’m at. Some different tire options is prob the first order of business for me. Deff want to see how the drivetrain holds up to big power! 🤔🫣
Haha I wish 😆 I wanted that one when it came out, but I wanted everyone to do the durability testing for me first 😂 I’m a broke ass and trying to get my daily driver fixed up. This was just too cute and cheap to pass up 🤘🏼🤘🏼🚀🔥
It’s an opportunity size, it’s a tad longer wheelbase than my Outcast 4s, but the arms and tires are shorter and smaller. Deff not a straight up competitor to the Outcast in my opinion. Rig itself feels super stout though curious what you think of the hinge pin design and layout.
I mentioned it struggling to get traction, several times. 🤔 I’m not doing a review for Redcat. I’m just Joe Shmoe giving my thoughts to the RU-vid community. 🤷🏼♂️ considering all my content is 8s and 6s I would say, yes this thing lacks power 😂
@@steelerrodney they should, I cranked my preload down on the fronts when I should have swapped the front shocks with the rears. They felt backwards, and from cranking the collar down I think it contributed to me busting a piston in half on the other front shock, and possibly exasperated the shaft breakage. Curious how the warranty shocks do.
@@DozersRCPlay-vf4pd lol I can’t speak for the grass bashing but it’s crazy stable in the dirt! I’m curious what the guys with lots of experience w/ the Arrma 3s/4s think of it. More tire and body options would be nice. I’d deff keep an eye on it haha I’m curious if they venture into the 6s realm next 🤔
