I use the Reddit app and it is so glitchy and a ton of everyday, normal functions have constant error messages. It's like their own app is a total afterthought.

Rip Apollo… and to be honest, RIP Alien Blue as well! I remember that after Alien Blue fell apart, I didn’t use Reddit until I discovered Apollo. And now that’s going away too? Reddit is really making a seriously bad decision.

Bro, we did the same thing. Reddits app is so bad, Alien Blue made it so much more easier better and then it got killed and Apollo became the one that saved Reddit for me again but now they killed that as well.

It's worth noting that ALL Fediverse accounts have the option to access any other account or community - unless the people who run your instance (server) have chosen not to allow a connection. So Mastodon users can view Lemmy communities or Bookwyrm reviews, for example.

It takes some effort to understand how all these fit together, but once you do the interconnectivity is insane! I only wish lemmy, beehaw etc had better ui and more extensive features. Maybe they'll fix things up with the influx of new users like mastodon recently did.

First, you have to create an account on an instance. I recommend beehaw.org. Then, if you use Android, you can download Jerboa for Lemmy, I have the link in the description. If you want to visit it from the website, just browse beehaw

Well, I don't think Reddit has competition that big, but Lemmy is very alive and well. A smaller community, obviously, but I actually enjoy it being like that
