Here is my general impression of the Ramon Chaves Redencion 229 Kickstop. This is not a review, but if you want to know what my thoughts are, I love this knife. But you can still watch the video to find out why.

I’ve got exactly the same knife, I snapped it up when DLT had it on sale. I agree with all the points you make, though I’m not brave enough to rub down the corners on the back of the handle 😅. I’m watching this video, whilst messing around with a cold steel AD15, and I thought this would be right up your street! Great video mate, good to see someone else sharing their collection.

Good to hear your thoughts. Just got done working on a 229. It’s one of those knives I wonder why I have never owned. Everything except the country of origin just works for me. Of course I can find things I wanna change. But that’s almost every knife. I absolutely love the clips. I wish they would go back to making them without the screws exposed but the skull is badass to me. Maybe a generation thing🤷‍♂️. 🤘🤘😎

I hear ya buddy. I am without a doubt a function over form guy. Yeah, some forms appeal to me more than others (like I agree that the exposed clip screws are an eye sore, but he is running a business and he is trying to make more people in total happy. I don't fault him for trying to listen to customers at times lol), but at the end of the day I want a functional knife, and one of the biggest things that will prevent me from carrying a knife is how it goes in and out of the pocket. I'm ambivalent about the clip. Visually it's fine. I just wished it would function better. All they have to do is change the ramp underneath the clip and keep the skull ... makes no difference to me. Yeah it looks cool in my pocket, but I would love this knife even more if the clip functioned better ... if that's possible lol. That's why half the time I just throw this in my pocket without using the clip because it works poorly on a thick pocket. Thanks for watching and commenting my man.
