Redesign vs Slugs 100 yards with FX Impact MK2 

My 23 gr .218 H&N 1/2 at 50 yards. My settings are at 155 bar hammer wheel screwed out to Max and then put on power 4. Impact valve setting to 8.9 mm. Avg of 921 fps. At 100 yards most of the time under an inch. Sometimes over an inch.

I have tried most brands of pellets and quite a few slugs, and the JSB redesign 25.4 just amaze me with their performance. With slugs it has to be the NSA 24.8 closely followed by the Zan 25gn The rifle also likes a staple diet of the JSB 18gn pellets FX Impact M3 700mm barrel in 22

I had exactly the same experience. The original Monsters had a tendency to destabilise past 40-50 yards when they slowed down so they were pretty useless for longer range, but the redesigned version works really great when shot with the right speed. I do not bother with slugs anymore since I gave them a try.

You need to invest more time finding the correct velocity for the slugs in relation to your on barrel. Furthermore, the slug liner is designed for heavier than 26 Grain; so you were using it with slugs that were far too light

Very interesting but from my experience in field with both : 1- pellet cannot compare with slugs with same setting 2-if you use slugs h&n try 25gr with pellet liner 0.217 Pellet specially redesigned found best results @high speed maximum range 150y beyond that distance go for slugs ... slugs gives me 3 inch @ 200y

Fantastic shooting with them pellets. I use pellets only , the 34gr mk2 in .25 cal and 44gr in .30. For the shooting we do we don’t need slugs . Been overhyped I’m afraid . Well done

My impact didn't like the H&N slugs either . But loved the fx and Nielson slugs . With pellet liner . This is one amazing rifle ! Pellets ir slugs I can usually find a setting that works well .keep up the great videos .

Yeah the slug liner will make those slugs go way further 200 yards lol. 110$ definitely good investment. Pellets won't go much further that 100 + yrds as accurate as this slugs . Faster spin rate 👍👍 good stuff. We all learning. U can improve those slugs 3x easy . U probably know this all by now. cheers🍻

Try a little less hammer and 5 more bar it might help the slug groups

Get your self a micrometer and check the slug diamiter, H and n 217 are 216, the only true size seems to be the h and n 30 grain they are a true 218. FX barrels are made for a 5.5377 slug, Anything smaller will rattle Jsb knockouts are 5.49 don't even go there, Try the 30 grain and definatly micromiter the h an n. You need at least a 5.5377 at least. That's why they opened up.

Great shooing bro, but I guess a lot has happened since May. Please allow me to share my experience using slugs vs pellets ...Now I can honestly achieve much much better groups than that, not bec I'm a better shooter, but simply bec I'm using the correct combination. With 25.4gr knockout slugs using 700mm superior barrel, the redesigned pellets don't stand a chance at any distance! With no wind, at 50m, all 5 holes cut each other consistently with no fliers at all... At 100m i get 0.5 to 0.7 inch groups center to center. Using a slug liner for such light pellets is useless in my opinion. Only use slug liners when shooting extremely long & heavy slugs over 40gr. which require an aggressive twist rate in order to stabilize. The superior 700mm standard barrel (not heavy) will give you much tighter groups at higher speeds than any type of barrel out there! One important rule to remember... Never Ever shoot slugs directly after you've shot pellets, without cleaning your barrel first! Slugs are much more sensitive towards a clean barrel and shooting them after shooting pellets will ruin your grouping for sure. Happy shooting!

Another thing to try on them slugs is to reduce the power for each group, Sometimes to much power is bad,

No offense to h&n but fx doesnt like them 😂 i have tried all weights in 5.5 but no luck but in jsb redesigned and ko works perfectly..

Try the 25gr h&n slugs, they shoot amazing through the slug liner. Or put the pellet liner back it shoot the 23gr h&n slugs way better than the slug liner.

Whats the speed for mk2 redesigned??

Try using a smaller aiming dot instead of trying to aim at the centre of a large target...makes for more accurate shooting and better groups..

it was just that FX produce slug and pellet liners and your slug liner shot the pellets far better.

What is your speed with JBS 25gr?

Clearly your barrel doesn't like either projectile very much or you are not running them at their ideal velocity because those groups were pretty sad, and are no where near what that rifle is capable of. That last 100 yard group, with the JSBs was phenomenal, but does not seem to be the norm. A 250 bar fill should not make your POI "jumpy" as you said. The Impact is regulated and all shots should be consistent, as long as your regulator is working properly. Try some 26 grain NSA slugs and experiment with higher velocities (above 900 fps)

Maybe your liner is not a slug liner but a pellet liner....that happen that some guys have got the same delivery from FX distributors,,,,they received the pellet liner instead of the slug liner.

You cannot compare groups with different projectile with same tune settings.

You may need to push the slugs a bit faster or slower to tighten up the groups . If only jsb made .25cal 33.95gr hades!!!!

This is not correct comparison. Pellet choice is basically 3 version. jsb 16gr, 18gr and redisaign. Slug choice is more then pellet, at last 15-20 version and accordingly finding best result is more hard. and second one. slugs is better up 100-120 yards. It has more Ability to resist wind. If you are hunter or varmint shooter, your choice will be slug.
