Redesigning and Ranking Helmets from HALO INFINITE

I initially thought the Mark V Zeta helmet looked strange but when I saw it actually in-game I really fell in love with it! I especially love how it looks with the Platinum Anniversary coating and a gold/orange visor.

Your Mark V Zeta redesign looks great! The problem I have with the OG Zeta design is that the mouth/chin looks too chonky. I also wish the visor had a curve like the one in CE or any other Halo game in general.

Just saying, I feel like mark v Zeta should be high A tier or S tier. Its supposed to take after the Halo 4 and 5 master chief helmets but in halo infinite which they did a very good job on

You know, I think it would be cool to see you design some original Sangheili armour (of course, particularly the helmets). It'd be fun to branch out your expertise from Spartan and Human designs to aliens. Totally different design philosophies, too, so it'd be interesting to see what a fresh pair of eyes as a designer could bring !

I really love aviator, it's all shaped like a motorist's helmet and I just love that design it has. Unfortunately, it's very big, so you have to design the Spartan around it which can be frustrating.

I love that the only edit you do for Air Assault is just crop and move it down and it makes a huuuge difference lol

Your Mark V Zeta looks like a helmet I’d actually wear. In my opinion, the original has this unusual pudgy look to it, as if the Mark V helmet got punched in the face. Great video!

You gave the ISR almost a Reach CQC shape and I love it!

343i’s Recon’s front side cheeks always bothered me. What is it with them wanting to slap random pieces of metal on helmets? There are so against sleekness. Great adjustment to your version!

Your redesign of the mark V reminds me of the mark IV from Halo Wars. I actually love your redesign because I’ve always thought the Mark IV didn’t get enough affection

A bit funny that your reasoning for redesigning Linebreaker is the reason i love Linebreaker so much. I love the bulky, blocky, straight to the point kind of look it has. I kind of love how it looks boring, cause it looks more like it was made for practicality as opposed to style. Not that your redesign is bad, it looks really good

LOVED your version of the linebreaker. Would rock that instantly. It’s still butch, muscular and robust with some extra angularity for some sleekness. I’d also like to see 343’s and your design for a Halo-esque Iron Man armor. I’ve really liked Iron Man’s MK3 & MK4 armor from the MCU and imagined what it’d be like to have a Halo adaptation.

Wow I was sitting here thinking I knew where everything was gonna go and it was so not lmao. Trailblazer, Enigma, and Stormfall are some of my favorite helmets, but yeah they're definitely weird especially compared to their counterparts. I used to dislike Enigma but I eventually grew to love it for it's sorta brutal and "heavy weapons guy" look. It does look older than the other Mk VII helmets, meaning it might not fit, but I still love it.

I’m very glad you fixed the fake-EOD helm, I loved EOD so much in reach and I was so glad I was able to get at least something like it in infinite

Mark V Zeta to me is an amalgamation of Mark IV, Mark V, and Mark VI Mod. The lower face is the wide vents of the Mark IV, the visor is the Mark VI Mod, and the top/brim is Mark V. They just took the idea of classic, wars, and modern helmets and smashed them together to create this.

Halo Infinite definitely has really good helmets for the Mark VII core. There aren't any I straight up consider a waste of inventory space on that core. Though the Lone Wolves Rakshasa core's first two helmets just seem...redundantly too visually similar.

For the Celiex helmet (Gen 3 mk 7 scoot), it's my personal favorite helmet, but what would be so cool would be an attachment peace called "Leonidas" where it adds a Warhawk and makes it more ancient spartan look. That helmet on the Gen 3 mk 6 would be my favorite spartan look of all time.

I actually like the Soldier redesign you did. Gives it a “mouth”. Almost Stormtrooper vibes. EDIT: I’d also like to see you do a redesign video where you fit the different Mandalorian armors aka Boba Fett, Mandalorian (Din Djarin), Night Owl, Paz Visla into the Halo aesthetic.

The scout helmet (celox in this game) is definitely my favorite too! I bought it when it first came out without hesitation.

Honestly I like Trailblazer, it makes me stand out when most players are wearing Mk 5 or Mk 7.

I personally think line breaker with the attachment is a really good helmet. I also do like your re-design and with the attachment on it, it would look amazing

I love your eye for good designs. Your minor edits make the helmets so much more aesthetically pleasing and in line with the militaristic style of Halo. You turn a lot of these helmets that I don’t like into ones that I would want to work hard for

My main gripe about the ISR helmet is that it has to much at the bottom almost. If they left just the more rounded chin section at the bottom, thickened it up a bit, and removed everything below, it would be pretty solid. You did a great job with it and all of these helmets though, amazing!

My issues with the Anubis design is the cheeks are way too chunky. What I loved about 5's Anubis was how slender and angular it looked. It gave me Rogue mixed with Recruit helmet vibes, two of my favorite helmets in Halo. So I'm quite disappointed how it looks in Infinite.

I maintain that the Mark V should have just been pulled out from Halo Wars' Spartan IV armor, it was absolutely perfect back then and still is

Your redesign of Mk. V Z looks like a perfect blend of Mk. IV and classic Mk. VI Actually. It looks how I'd imagine Chief's Mk VI [M] (Halo 4 and 5 armor) would look with the classic artstyle.

Hey W! So happy to see your new upload, I hope you're well. For what it's worth, I agree with most of your "objective" tier list :) I agree that Stormfall needed a redesign, but I do like that it's one of the few helmets in Halo that has two eyes -- I find that interesting itself. If you ever go back to Halo 5 redesigns, please bring redemption to my boy the Jumpmaster. Your redesigns of Trailblazer and Brawler were definitely my favorites of this episode. Congrats on the Minecraft server and happy New Year!

I like how the Mark 5 now looks more like the Mark 4, which we desperately need.

Mark7 looks like hightech version of chief's helmet🎉Very handsome and classic

I think the original Enigma looks great! I'd def put it above the Brawler. The helmet is big and chunky, which is befitting a tank operator as the lore says. And yeah the redesign is straight up an ODST helmet. Edit: And I'll say another thing. I think ISR helmet slaps.

With Rampart if you use the visor attachment from the soldier helmet it looks so good! I wish that’s what it was to begin with

Linebreaker with the antennas is an immediate S tier. I use that as my main helmet.

To me the best way to approach a Spartan helmet is to design it as if a main character will wear it. Halo 3 nailed it and Reach built on the concept by making your armor what Noble 6 wears.

Anubis is probably my favourite helmet from anything, not just Halo. Infinite has had its share of faults, but I simply can't fault its visual design.

You should try designing custom armor cores. Especially one themed around other Microsoft Ip's that they may do in the future, like gears of war or fallout. Could be a fun project.

I think what I would’ve done with no attachment Stormfall, is remove the eyes entirely, and any semblance of a visor, and replace it with a little camera, and some exposed looking wiring, I would want it to look unfinished, or like you ripped the classic gungir optics off, when it was never supposed to be taken off. Super deconstructed looking, maybe even some loose wiring.

Homelander looking at Firefall: it was perfect. *perfect*. Down to the last, minute, details.

It’s crazy how just with some photoshop(albeit some amazing photoshop skills) you manage to make every helmet *at least* 10-20% better if not 100% better

Love how subtle all your redesigns are, I don’t dislike any of these helmets but you made me love the ones that I wasn’t a huge fan of also I know you said you didn’t love your version of ISR but i think you version could look so dope in game if you added the classic teeth that are normally painted on gunships and stuff onto the lower jaw, the shape would fit it perfect and it’d add a bunch of character

I kinda like stormfall because of how cocky it is. It just gives of really confident energy but it's probably me associating the helmet with Spartan Kovan from Rubicon Protocol

Anubis always reminded me of Striker Euereka's head from Pacific Rim.

Glad to see another enjoyer of Warmaster. Infinite’s redesign of it is really good and even better with different helmet attachments.

I think for the stormfront helmet, if you just turned the lightigh grey "goggle" area around the visor into more visor that would fix it, idk

My personal problem with a lot of these helmets is that they are just all very round

Stormfall/gungnir has a concept art and a wearable model of the gungnir helmet without the blastsheild that actually looks better then the infinite counter part your redesign reminds me of it cust it had a single version

I don’t like the zeta mark v variant… The original Mark v might be my favorite helmet ever and I wore mark v in reach. I love Mark V… But the mark v alpha from guardians and zeta don’t look much like mark v to me with their squared visors and shit. And the visor should be smooth on mark v like the original version imo it was a recognizable part of that design that stood out. Black brim, smooth specific visor shape, rounded edges, if that makes sense… like my favorite reference image is the cover of ghosts of onyx. Your redesign fixed several issues and looks much better as a good variant. You did well to make the visor line manageable

20:37 I would probably just remove the visor entirely in place of a metal plate and maybe some camera points like the Grenadere if I remember correctly.

I own all of the helmets. I only ever use Zvezda. It's timeless

one actual use I've learned for the Stormfall is the Patternwolf attachment from the Rakshasa core, the NVG looking ones. Still leagues worse than Stormfall with an actual visor, but honestly not terrible.

For the storm fall helmet, I was kinda disappointed that you didn’t rate it with the gungnir attachment which is the main reason people got it

I agree with the take on Keystone, when I think of halo I either think of Mk 5 in Blood Gulch or Keystone. 343 may not have given us the best in terms of gameplay, story, etc. but HOT DAMN that is one hell of a helmet! The only reason I use Cavallino instead of Keystone is cuz I'm broke :(

I would give my firstborn for the Trailblazer redesign to be in the game. My new favorite helmet literally doesn't exist.

My main issue with air assault is how flat the front is. The forehead area looks like it originally stuck out further, like a cap, but was cut off for some reason. I 100% agree with your mk V opinion. I always thought it looked kinda strange, but wasn’t sure exactly what it was.

I never knew that Linebreaker was an Enforcer redesign. It looks so different it might as well be a completely different helmet. Enforcer was one of the few 4/5 helmets that I thought actually looked good.

I wish they would add the Mark IV helmet.

Huh, so enigma is kind of like a chubby odst helmet! 😆😅 absolutely love your redesigns as always! Great stuff! My favorite helmets for mk7 are the firefall, scout, mk5, mk7, and aviator probably. Enforcer is alright too. Wish we had a better EOD for mk7. It needs a brim and some more reach looking vibes! Nice m5 redesign! I feel the visor is nicer when a bit more simple than the halo 4 style one. Love the EOD remake! It looks clean and badass! That kinda what I wish It was. You have to buy that attachment to make it look like the classic EOD.😔 It kinda reminds me of Rouge from halo 3. I like the halo 4 art style the most tbh.

I honestly do not understand the hate for Trailblazer, it's one of my favorites in Infinite. I was never a huge Recon fan, so I love that they added some heft to it. It always seemed too small in my eyes prior to the Mk 7 redesign

tbh the only issue i think LINEBREAKER has is that it's front "mouth" piece looks weird with the two holes and that it's missing that camera thingy from enforcer

i knew you were going to take away the two separate eyes of the gungnir helmet but it still hurt a little to watch

Scout and Firefall (MK7 ODST) are definitely my 2 favorite helmet designs currently for the MK7 armor core, only problem being I got wait to for scout to be in the shop and that I have to buy it, same goes for the firefall helmet but at least Scout comes with it’s matching armor set. Plus I’ve been leaning more into using the scout helmet Personally I think all the current MK7 armor parts should’ve been in the base game at launch, so the Reach season could’ve had more reach armor and this season could’ve had more of the rakshasa armor.

Also not a fan of Mk.V zeta, but the new Mk. V from the winter update is nice!

no i agree, i dont like the chonky mkv, the reach mkv is sexy. I feel like people only used the chonky mkv because the good one wasnt in the game lol. and because armor base's are restrictive. your redesign of chonky is WAY better imo, love your version of the pathfinder as well. Also i feel like most of the wonkey looking helmets are that way because they designed them around specific attatchments.
