I adore these designs! They are amazing. In my Headcanons for them, Ryoba is one of the major reasons for Ayanos "sickness". Yanderes are people who appear sweet and kind, but whose obsession with a person ends up isolating them. Ayano is, in Ryobas eyes, is the perfect little symbiosis between her beloved and herself. As such, her "tendencies" also involved her daughter, isolating her and making her sick to keep her by her side. She never had friends and spent most of her time playing daughter for her mother's game of "mother - father - child". It would be an interesting premise to the whole yandere trope. Girl meets boy and feels strong emotions for the first time in her life. She wants to grow closer to him, but doesn't know how, especially since he already had so many female friends. Ryoba comes in and tells her "that nothing should stop her if she really loves him". This could be also really interesting in connection to an pacifist run. Her asking osana to teach her how to make friends, to make a better reputation and osana amd Raibaru become her first real friends. (Bonus: Osana being the first person to realize jow fucked up ayanos childhood was) Muja immediately checking ayano as a victim of abuse and wanting to grow closer to her to see if she was wrong. Mida having a hard time differentiating ayano from her mother, the Perpetrator, till she can only see her as a victim like her father.
You could even use it for a run where you kill a rival and get caught. If you are able to collect evidence about Ryobas behaviour, maybe even about how she killed one of her classmates, Ayano could blame it on her. Depending on how well you discarded the weopons/evidence, Ayano could make it look as if her mother was the killer. (As in: she killed for her daughter to get the perfect boyfriend and life. It could even be a elimination method for the teacher.) Whilst it would get her out of trouble, it would destroy her reputation and have the adults in her life watch her every step.
In my headcanon: Octo's cut version of Yandere Simulator, Ryoba is the protagonist of the 20XX mode and Ayano is a distant cousin who would be a rival in a DLC.
Hot take that people will probably get mad at me for, but Ryoba is just as boring as Ayano, you guys just like her more because she acts more like a traditional yandere. She’s sweet and friendly on the outside and cruel and sadistic on the inside, sure, but that’s literally all there is to her. At least with popular yanderes like Yuno Gasai and Satou Matsuzaka, we get their backstories and explorations into their psyches and what they’re like beyond their basic archetype, Ryoba Aishi is literally just your stereotypical yandere with no real depth to her. Same goes for Jokichi, you guys say he’s so much better than Taro for being a “charismatic ladies’ man”, despite those traits only being told to us and not shown once over the entire course of the game.
heck yeah new yandere arts! :) personally i would think ayano wasn't fit to become or following her mother footsteps because i think she just wasnt cut out to be a yandere and she should just following her own path instead
Regardless of how basic 1989s mode was, it just goes to show that ryoba feels more like the main character, and I agree Ryoba is the superior yandere mostly because she's an actual yandere manipulative, cunning, keeps up the persona
Pretty much a sidetracked comment, but until this video. I never actually noticed and appreciated the difference between tones and theming when it came to Ryoba and Ayanos games music style. Its especially noticeable and interesting to see during 13:09 where the redesigns are shown. The music that can be heard with Ryoba gives off a more loving, and emotional vibe. It also represents her love with her “Senpai” she’d do anything for her love. While When it drops over to Ayanos transition, Ayanos music is less vibrant. Calming, but still intense sounding. Representing that the “Love” she has for Taro is more like a side goal to get what she really wants and needs, to have the ability to feel. She doesnt love Taro, she just loves that she can feel for Taro.

I wouldn’t say ayano has npd, more like aspd! Maybe even schizotypal. I feel like narcissists can still feel empathy and emotions. Psychopaths are unable to feel empathy and people w stpd are said to have “odd” behaviour (which foul explain ayanos behaviour and her lack of genuine relationships). However, I’m not well informed on npd nor stpd so if I’m saying something stupid please correct me I don’t wanna spread stigma or misinformation!
Haiii I really like ur content and this is a wonderful video but I think your use of “narcissistic” is really harmful to people with npd! Using narcissistic when you mean to describe someone self centered and selfish demonizes people with npd because even though a narcissist, a person with npd and a narcissist, a person who is self centered, are technically two different words from the same narcissus origin, the fact that they are the SAME word does mean that calling genuinely bad people and traits narcissistic hurts people with npd! I doubt you meant and harm and a lot of ppl use narcissistic like this without realizing the damage it does but I hope u get why it’s a little hurtful^^ sorry if this is long!!
