A helpful hint about filming. I kept trying to duck down to look below what the camera was focused on because it was mostly angled upward at Kenan. The bright sunlit sky behind him put him somewhat in silhouette at times. When he was showing the places he thought the torts were getting out, I would like to have seen the camera aimed down at what he was talking about rather than staying on Kenan. Thanks for another fun episode.
My redfoot was an escapee artist. Everyone who came to the house would know that if they had to open the main gate and keep it open because of any reason then they'll need to leave someone at the gate to make sure he didn't go out to the street, whenever he managed to do it he'll go around the neighborhood to nearby streets for a stroll and either be brought back by any of the neighbours who knew him or come back on his own, if the gate was closed then he'll start charging at it, very loud bangs on a steel gate, his amazing way to tell us "OPEN THE GATE, HOOMANS!".
I rescued a turtle that was bitten by a dog and it had a hole straight through the shell. You could see the organs pulsing and everything. I put iodine on it a few times a day for about a month and within that 1 month the hole completely closed up. I've had the turtle since 2015 and you can't even tell there was ever any damage now. Such strong, amazing creatures.
Some feedback to Matt regarding todays video. He is filming a bit too high. There is too much sky, too little footage towards what Kenan is actually talking about. Don't be afraid to tilt the camera more to keep the subjects in frame without all that empty space around them. Apart from that, good video as always. Funny how the Red Foots managed to get out again. Glad to hear that they are all doing good.
The babies are so cute. I would love to have both red foot and cherry head turtles....great personalities and so sweet. On a side note, welcome to the Kamp Kenan Family Matt, it's great to have you aboard. I've enjoyed watching you around the camp especially with the crocs! ♡
Great educational video. My favorite part was Guwapo licking your back. He was so friendly and cute! I think it's nice to have someone recording for you, so we have a wider view and you can focus on explaining! Thanks cameraman, you are awesome!!
I am glad to see all the Redfoot's are safe and back where they belong, the babies are adorable, great job filming Matt, excellent views and Kenan is hands free to show things and explain everything!
Hey Kenan. I went right back to the very beginning and started watching from your very first ‘episode’. Now here I am a few months later after watching multiple videos per day I have finally caught up with the current videos. It was so hard at times seeing the new episodes being uploaded. I did it, I’m so happy that I’m all caught up.. I have loved each and every single video on your channel 🎉
All tortoise come a cross water in the wild..So do folks not know tortoise can flat and swim??? Mine do..much love and respect from North Devon, England x
It sounded like a fun easter egg hunt but with redfoot tortoises instead of eggs! Hopefully it was more fun than stressful. And I guess Lego wanted to go visit you up at the big house (and munch plants along the way).
just an hour ago one of my cats found a way out of the garden onto the street and I had to look for her for a pretty long time. Thank god I found her, she almost gave me a heart attack.
What ever happened with your experiment with the tortoise eggs that you left buried and covered to see if they could hatch on their own? Thanks for the awesome videos! 🐢🐢
Awesome video! Interesting to learn about these animals, what they are capable of doing and how to work with them to create the best opportunities for them, while keeping them out of danger as well.
Thank you for all the stuff on red foot tortoises. I have 3 red foot for 3 years they are doing great because of all the great content. Also have been watching strong for three plus years.
I wonder if there's a way to mark them with numbers, that way you'd be able to count them easier, and there'd be no danger of counting the same one twice. Just a thought. Lol
Saw a redfoot about 5" at my local petco man does it look depressed and sad in small glass enclosure. Them workers know shiet about tortoise..im probably gonna rescue it ..gonna stop by today and ask more history about it... def a zoo in your backyard..
Love your channel and the commitment you have for your animals. ....you should never the turtle that was hit by lawn mower Katana, means sword in Japanese
Heh. When I started watching this episode, my subtitles were turned on and EVERY TIME Kenan said "Red Foot" the Closed Captions output it as "REDFORD!" Kamp Kenan -- endorsed by Robert REDFORD after whom the REDFORD tortoise is named! It's the Joisey accent, Man. The caption algorithm can't deal with it! 😁
