A ride on the popular L'al Ratty in the Western lake district, from Boot to Ravenglass, and a 20 mile hike back to Burnmoor Lodge. A brief video for a long walk and a grand day out
By 'eck that was a good yomp! Happy memories from 1988 when we took my (then) 3 year old nephew on La'al Ratty and had fish and chips in Ravenglass. Good to hear Scafell being pronounced correctly Dave 👍 and yeah, WHAT ARE those weird looking lumps in the valley near the lodge? Get on with that wood burner and you'll have a new member for next winter 🔥
YES!! Thanks Ian!!! 😁😁 the log burner is finally on the agenda 👍 mind it could take a while as you might imagine 😉 Would be good if you got to meet John some time. He’s a lovely bloke, very thoughtful & great company. TTFN! 😍
Wow that was a monster hike even with 8 miles on the train ( 🚂 which was idilic by the way ) and then end up in the shadow of Scafell 🏔️ Great film Sue All the best Simon 🤠👍
That was a big day out. But a unique way to start, on a wee train. Ravenglass, where I started my coast to coast cycle. And the tarn at the lodge did look inviting. 🏊♂️ 👍
I knew I missed this the other day . I was otherwise disposed . But I get there in the end . Love the abundance of cakes in your videos . Cakes ... That little journey was great . I do sit here at times wondering about how people run into each other , through walking or film making . I just know they are on the same page . This video looks strangely warm and summer like 😂. It looks like you both had a sweet time , perfect conditions . Looks arduous towards the end . Well done Looking forward to your next adventure
Hi Roger! It’s lovely to do something very different in familiar surroundings. The scenery wasn’t spectacular, mainly hedgerows 😁 but the station at Dalegarth is lovely, very impressive. And it was fun! Let us know what you think if you get round to it 👍
