this was such a good listen. I actually listened for the full 1.45 hours. You guys are actually really great! was never bored

As a Lamb who has been a fan from the beginning of Mariah’s career, I am always very interested how the new generation views Mariah and her life. Mariah has always been pretty private about her personal family life. We only knew what had been cleared up by her publicist whenever her family would sue her or blast her on tabloids. Mariah’s music was very telling as she did write her life events within her music we just had to assume who she was talking about . I think you do lack the perspective of the time period when Mariah came into the music scene and how life was back then. It was crazy how the media could basically control the perspective of how someone was represented. I don’t think you guys would ever understand not coming from that time period. For example Mariah, not knowing her success most artist didn’t produce and write their songs they would just showed up to the studio and would sing and leave. Mariah put a lot of time and effort into her music which took a long periods of time which made her be in the studio probably about 90% of her life at the beginning with the rest of the 10% being business. An artist having an album come out every year was just unfathomable. She was definitely overworked, and I could see how she just didn’t have time to notice anything about her outside of her work world. I also think a big part of Mariah was her acknowledging that she was bipolar. Which would explain a lot of her ups and downs in the way that she would conduct yourself. Anyways, there was a lot of things that you guys talked about that I missed because I came with the eyes of a fan, but then there was some things that because I have more detail or have grown along with Mariah through that era that I understood more than you. She was very close to the fans she gave us details of her life through her newsletters, and then also voice messages to the fans. We did have an inside on her life and probably knew about 90% of the book to begin with. You guys did get some friends names wrong, and some names of songs were wrong like anytime and get a friend wasn’t the song of the decade it was we belong together, but overall it was a very interesting podcast. In the end, Mariah is very optimistic person, so we will never get the real dirt on everything and will never get the most painful or terrible things. I really do think she will go to the grave with those stories.

Mriah Carey knew and said in the book that when she was born her siblings were already DAMAGED.

Tiger Woods did it with golf. Mariah was born to be a musical superstar. My biracial daughter was born in that Era. She 100% relates to Mariah. She experienced racism from both sides. It was the reality of the times. Mariah has survived Human Trafficing via Tommy Matola with grace and dignity. He was interviewed and admitted he took her as his hostage when he was still married, and in therapy. All hail the Queen.

the hot take wouldn't be a hot take if you guys were a little more informed about mariah in general despite what she tells in the memoir. she has explicitely said she struggles with bipolar disorder, so yeah. she is neurodivergent and she's pretty much very aware of that
