This video seemed to be pointing out products to use in different scenarios. I have Long super thick heavy course hair and it's so hard to style it. I think I could do a couple of them. And I liked the idea of crimping to get volume as teasing doesn't work well. I've tried some kind of volumizing powder but didn't know there were so many other things to try. It's also hard to keep braids from falling out or pinning anything. Lots of useful stuff here!

while brunette hair is shiny, I would've picked blondes for long hair updos. you can't really see the details as much in darker hair. that's why Martin Parson always uses blonde models for long hair dressing

Ordinarily I would agree with this sentiment, because I see a lot of trends in hair on the runway doing looks inspired by black trends ("white dreads"). However in this instance I'm thinking this might be a reach. The first reason being that the hair wasn't textured to achieve a black inspired look (for example.. He didn't crimp the hair to turn it into a sculpted afro, or something). Secondly, Sam Villa's texture iron, from a business standpoint, is a unique tool and he constantly pushes it. (whether you enjoy that is a matter of preference). As a hair dresser, I personally PREFER "thicker" hair that's coarse, and has a natural texture, as opposed to baby soft hair because it is more versatile. HOWEVER, if a bridal party came to me for updo's, and some of them had flat hair, I'd absolutely use his texture iron. Having the option to give you a different foundation to work on is useful from a technical standpoint. Would I use the Sam Villa texture iron on white hair to create a kinky afro tribal hair inspired photoshoot on a white girl? Personally, I would not. Would I use it to give me more hold and volume on a prom updo? Probably.... Once again, I 100% agree with your sentiment as a general statement on the industry, fashion, hair, or otherwise... But like I said in this scenario, I don't think this was gentrification at its core.
