Hi Heidi! For viewers who find this product too costly, there's one from L'Oreal which is under the same brand as Redken. It works great for me.

I had the same problems, after using the treatment for three months, once a week, my damage is gone. So keep going, it's worth it. I don't use the rest of the products series, but the volumize series from Redken, because it's a better fit for my hairtype.

Hi there :) They say u have to use it once a week for 2 months to get the benefits of this The frizz/ smoothing aspect comes from the fact that it helps to prevent hair breaking off by strengthening the bonds so you have less broken off small peices of hair and split ends But it’s not going to give u the the claims on the first 1-2 goes Also u need to use a leave in conditioner and heat protectant to lock in moisture and also prevent further damage

This type of treatment are more of breakage fillers once you stop using them the results wear off . It is more of hair makeup apart from that citric acid is used to balance the ph of products so the preservative system stays intact . From OLAPLEX to redken all are same . I would highly advice you to keep ur natural hair colour or 2 shades lighter than ur own hair colour bc once hair starts shedding it is almost impossible to stop. You are beautiful with or without this hair colour in my opinion. All the best dear ❤️

I went to my salon and had the Acidic bonding deep conditioner and it made it very soft and helped the damage I had from too many highlights. I am not bleaching again for a very long time. I will say I used this recently, not expecting miracles. I have long blonde extensions that are extremely dry and I was tempted to take out because they were clumping together constantly! I used the Redken Concentrate; went to the water park for an hour (in braids), came home, rinsed it out and conditioned with Kerastase after. My hair was completely back to normal and very hydrated. I was shocked because it was so noticeable! Thanks for sharing your experience. I going to keep testing this out with K18 and Olaplex.

I started using the Redken Acidic Bonding shampoo, conditioner,and leave in conditioner long before using the Redken pretreatment. I had used the entire Olaplex line for three years and it never worked that great. The Redken Acidic system totally changed my hair for the better. Guessing since your hair has been so pampered lately you won’t see the improvement like you would if your hair had been neglected

I also tried this product this weekend and loved the results. I applied the redken treatment and left it for about 1 1/2 hour with a thermal cap, followed by loreal acidic bonding shampoo and redken all soft mask(30 minutos with thermal cap again) . Then the loreal AB Conditioner and followed by my regular routine of pureology leave in conditioner+kerastase chronologiste thermal protector+chronologiste hair oil. Hair felt amazing, better than Olaplex 3. The hair felt completely soft and shiny, also felt even better at the end of the day. I also like to use leonor greyl pre shampoo oil, it smells amazing 😉 Next time I will order the shampoo+conditioner of this redken line! Your hair is looking good 😘 stay well

I'm very happy to see that your hair is getting better and better. It will take time, but the most important is that you managed to stop the breakage. I also switched to this REDKEN product just to try it after my Olaplex finished. I'm quite happy with it, after 1 treatment my hair looks much stronger, shinier and healthier - I could even say, if I don't take into account the breakage after it got burned, it is actually stronger than before. The only problem is that my hair gets very stiff and hard after that so I need to use a mask of some kind. So after I shampoo it I use K18 and after the 4 minutes I use a mask - at the moment Redken All soft. Then I use a leave in conditioner and style. I use this routine of pretreatment, shampoo, mask and leave-in conditioner, now plus K18, once every 5 to 8 days plus oil on the lengths daily since I started to bleach and dye my hair regularly, which is 4 years now and it grew from the middle of my back to below my waist now for those 4 years so I'm going to stick to it :) Thank you for sharing your experience. I'm sure it helped many people like me :)

You should try the extreme bleach recovery lamellar water treatment from Redken. I also didn't think the acidic treatment did much to my hair.

The system the pre shampoo , and after treatment helped my hair a-lot after a bleach fail !

I definitely used it before shampoo and I used a good conditioner. I saw the difference when I was styling and after. It is definitely helping rebuild the hair. I had damaged my hair with blonding and went darker and still felt my hair was breaking and crispy. Now it seems to make it easier to style and rebuild it to take styling etc.

Glad to see your hair recovering soo well!😊 I got the shampoo from that line, didn't like it at first becouse I felt my hair very dry but after a few tries I realized that after using a good moisturizer mask the results were amazing! This products ,from my experience its to ment to be used not on daily basis, I used every two weeks ,and also makes your hair stronger repairing the bonds that are break after a procedures like bleaching your hair or continuous heat damage. I agree with you about the claims that make your hair less frizzy after just one aplicación it's not exactly as they said but you will get there with the continuous use of the product . Newbie to your channel. Unfortunately my hair is going through the same thing right now. I use Redken and L'oreal bond treatments before shampoo. Then I use K18 when I don't use conditioner. I put OGX voconut oil for damaged hair on my mid to ends also. I still have frizz but it is getting healthier. It's just going to take time. Your hair looks amazing after the Redken bond treatment.

When you said you wonder if the citric acid can bleach your hair, it definitely pulls colour out . Because when i use mine for a couple of weeks, it pulls out my hair colour.

Hello beautiful. All of us know how devastating it can be to have a hair gut wrenching experience, it is the reason how I came to find you years ago. I had gotten polyethylene in just a tiny bit of my blonde poneytail and I thought I could just wash it out in the shower. Instead the polyethylene broke down and mixed in with my shampoo all over my head. I used the wrong products to get it out which totally ruined my hair. You truly helped me on my hair journey to recovery. When Covid hit I decided that I wanted healthier hair. I am not as "blonde" as I used to be but my hair is so much healthier and fuller than it has ever been. Sometimes these things happen to us because it forces us to make changes . in the previous video where you tested this product I gave you a suggestion and now I will give it again, try to use the other products in the line and do the complete ritual (the shampoo is an item that you can replace) the conditioner and the leave in treatment do all the work difference in treatment results, the conditioner brings a lot of resistance and the leave-in-seal treatment seals the entire treatment and brings softness. the promises that are on the site (if you read the fine print) refer to the use of the complete line, each item has a concentration of actives that combined bring the promised results.

I used it, I think my hair loved it… I have bleached ends and very curly hair too…

I feel sorry for you! Happened to me, too but the main culprit wasn't beach although my hair broke off after getting my hair done at the salon. The real reason was I moved and the water at my new house had very high amounts of iron and copper in it. The metals in your hair react with peroxide and basically explode. I stopped bleaching and opted for coloring but it didn't get any better. Didn't understand what was wrong, used everything until I discovered after few years of broken, ugly hair, the reason behind this sudden change. Now I don't wash my hair at home and it's back to normal. I also experienced that the side of the head I slept on was worse.

Using just redken on its own will give you the best results. And drying your hair on cold setting will always leave your hair looking fluffy. Out of olaplex, k18 and redken acidic repair. I found redken the best and easiest. It's just ten minutes prior to shampoo and condition.I use a ten minute mask for even better results. And only once a week. All the time consuming and wasting money and to much washing of the hair is just not good. That is my experience as a hairdresser. Also redken have a leave in heat protection that I found is amazing against heat,sun,environment and gives shine and softness. ❤

I’ve been following your hair journey and you have so many products you’ve already bought for damaged hair! I would be going through them all, throwing any expired product and using the ones like genesis, redken bond repair that are still fresh instead of buying new product!

Hi Heidi, your hair looks great since the first video of what happened to it. You’re doing a great job. If you don’t mind me asking, what percent of minoxidil are you using and which brand? My hair started falling out severly due to emotional stress I went through and I don’t know what to do since I’ve never experienced something like that before. I’ve lost almost half of it since february. I bought Kerastase Genesis bain nutri fortifiant shampoo and Genesis anti chute scalp serum as well as Kerastase Initialiste scalp serum and been looking to buy minoxidil. Any advice on how to help stop hair falling out is appreciated.

Try the new Redken 5 min liquid mask it’s one of the best mask I’ve tried for blondes hairdresser here.

I definitely have but I usually leave it on for least for an hour with a cap so the heat is trapped. My hair is always smooth and silky after using it :)

I found your videos because I am curious about the citric acid treatment… but now I am really curious about your natural hair texture. You keep saying your hair is frizzy, is it naturally wavy? Because it was my first thought when you showed up after rinsing the treatment and saying your hair isn’t smoother.

Otherwie, I recommend watching some of his videos which are great at explaing & simpifying healthy hair routines, including using heat protective products before using heat on hair, etc. He mentions using this product 8 times & followed by a hair mask before seeing results.

Im sure your hair soon will be fantastic as it was before. I can recommend you Elizavecca cer-100 hair mask. Its cheap but much better then more of the bonding products. It’s really game changer.

I know you are going to think I'm crazy. Because I know the pain you are going through.But I think your hair looks really pretty and get this healthy. In other words if we did not know the trauma you just experienced at the hair salon. We wouldn't know by looking how damaged some of your hair is. Keep on finding the best repair products.

Your amazing, it must be distressing to have your hair snapped off. Must admit it did nothing for my hair. I'm using L'Oréal dream lengths products, great fir my course hair.x

According to the Blowout Professor you have to use this once a week for up to 8 weeks to get the best results. You will see results after one use but that’s not enough. Your hair will feel better the more you use it. And during these 8 weeks, instead of using your regular conditioner, use a hair mask. He recommends the Morrocanoil Weightless Hair Mask. ❤

I think its an excellent improvement compared to before you treated it but you cannot really expect miracles you have very bad chemical damage and it will take a long time to recover You might have to use it over time to get 14 times smoothness not on one application

I love being here for your hair journey❤ Also, those claims that they make have little stars next to them that is the fine print. It says, “**when used as a system with the pre treatment, shampoo, and conditioner” So you won’t necessarily see those benefits to that extent in one use using other products alongside the pre treatment. They work synergistically with each other; similar ingredient bases, acidic ph, and the same bonding technology. It’s similar, but it’s different than Olaplex. Hope this gives some clarity on the percentages on the claims for frizz and breakage etc. ❤️

Hihi, have you tried drying the non damaged hair w/ warm heat and only the damaged area in low heat? I can only imagine the work and time it takes to do the entire head with low heat

Try this redken, then wash it out with your shampoo, then a hair mask from kerastase ( I had nutritive and okeo Relax) then wash it out, pureallogy leave in conditioner and then from kerastase a thermique cream ( I have one for frizzy hair) and then you can dry your hair and then morrocan oil. I had a birds nest because I had a two year depression phase and used just a hair soap and nearly never other hair care and now its sooo soft in comparison again.

I wouldn't use k18 with this one. Because i feel like the acidity of the redken is gonna seal the cuticles of the hair and prevent k18 to penetrante efficiently. I feel like k18 needs a clarifying shampoo with a more alkaline formulation to open up the cuticle so k18 can penetrate efficiently. I would rather use this one with epres and use few drops of epres as a leave in oil.

I used this redken acidic bonding treatment and my hair looks horrible. I have fine thin hair 1a/ 1b thats a bit dry. I just cut my hair shoulder lenght to get rid of split ends and start over. So picked up wjat i thought was very good products to start taking care of my hair. I used this on damp hair for about 10-15 min then washed with redken extreme shampoo and conditioner and let hair air dry. My hair looks super puffy and ectremely frizzy all over. Oh my goddd like how do i fix this😢😢😢😢

Remember you shouldn’t go in the sun if you use retinal either. It’s just AHAs it’s not scary just use an spf (which you should be nosing anyway)

Try also for maintaining the bonding complex the line by Davines Nourishing of the line naturaltech ii has helped me a lot when my old hairdresser don’t toner my hightlights bleached air to improve and back haealthy again

Also Heidi you should leave this mask on for longer than 7 min like leave it on for 30-45 minutes and it works a lot better. It won’t hurt you’re hair :) I promise.

I have watched all of your videos and rely on your reviews for products as I have bleached hair too. I have started to use Epres to help with my damage. If you the small print on the website the claims of x14 smoother are after months on continuous use bit you'd 'see an improvement after 1 use' amount of that 1 use improvement not specified

Vinegar in your shampoo for 5 minutes will also help with your hair ( gummy or robbery hair ) .

Heidi theres no need to wear gloves, as long as you wash your hands after using it ❤
