I can feel your pain. I just lost my Dad on July 24th 2020. I wish I could just talk with him one more time. So much left unsaid. I love & miss ya Pop's. I hope Heavens got the greatest shooting range just for you Sir. SEMPER FI
The hardest line ever," my old man is a legend he cast a shadow so great" ,I wish I could fill a tenth of my dad's shadow. I miss that old man so much. Love your dad while you can and remember him always. Stay safe and healthy everyone
My old man is 72 worked the same job for 47 years made sure we had food shelter and that my mom myself and little brother were taken care of dad you are one tough badass guy thannks for all you do
When I was a teenager, I swore that I would never be like my father. Now that I'm 30, and my Dad is 70, I see that I've turned out a lot like him in every respect. This song, but this version and the classic have a deep impact on me.
Thank you to my dad, for never letting me know what having daddy issues feels like growing up. I have never seen a harder working man in my life, you are appreciated and loved very much.
"Growing up at the track he had a reason for bein fast" RIP Pap We all miss you! I wish I wasn't so young I could've learned so much and life would be so much easier!!! 🙏❤️
1:27 "My old man is a legend he cast a shadow so great i think of how he is watching with every move that i make" Great verse Lost my pops 23 years ago I'm the same age now as when he died. Miss 'em every day....
I never heard this song ever played (in Houston) I was listening to a vinnie paz/ Prozak station on pandora, and this played. It hooked me. Hits hard, hits home, it's got a "tactile" sense to it, it grooves, and you feel the weight and texture of the music, and lyrics. Like a fucking blanket, draped and heavy, full of old scars, and stains, but it's beautiful, and has memory.
Miss my dad. Pancreatic cancer treatment took him fast. He was much as described in song. Awesome, Solid. Super Funny and Kind…. But not to be f’d with. As it should be. God bless all of you friends
My old man is 79 years old. I'm a few weeks away from 57. When I was 17, I hated that he'd come home from work and fall asleep reading the local paper. Now, I wish I could do the same. What goes around comes around. He was certainly a hard working man. And me and my brother deserved what we got from him. We never lost a red light race. None of us. Dad's garage was filled with trophies we never spoke about. Bragging was for pussies. I love you pops. I wish I could be just like you.
Leslie, he's become my fourth child. I tell him everyday. Just wish I could have said it to him when it mattered most- around his friends, brothers, and family. The old f*cker floors every new care I drive, makes me rewire and paint every old car he picks up, and talks shop about things we've discussed repeatedly over the years. His glory days.
Oh, I'm so sorry. That must be so tough. It's nice you are there for him now. He knows how you feel even if he can't show it; he's hearing the words and may understand more than we realize. Good luck.
I lost my Dad yesterday and he had always been the most hard worker man I had the pleasure of knowing and who raised his daughter to get back up and fight, and live your not being some sheep, instead be a Wolf if needed and make your matter, cause in the end it's all about living by example, no matter how many times we got it wrong, all that matters is the one time we got it right and should the Grandchildren that Faith is real, may need help with getting the right words out sometimes, but if a person looks for them, most of what we want or should say can be find in a song or two, just have follow the signs. I will miss dad until we meet up in Heaven, but you shall never be forgotten, your legacy will on through your Grandchildren and myself, please give Caleb a hug and kiss from his mama bear for me. I love you forever xx
My dad died in 2014. I had just lost my daughter. The day before he passed, we took our bikes and had a cruise to get the wind blow through us. When things went bad he always found ways to show that he related to me and my issue, but knew he would always be there for me. Now that he has passed, I don't know if I could ever be a fraction of the man he was, but know that I still do my best to make him.proud of me.
I lost my dad too 6months after my mom and my dad helped so many people in life... He picked my mom up in a Volkswagen beattle with no floor. And saved his money ...and worked his way up..teaching the lesson never give up.❤
My old man passed when I was 18 back in 2002. My time with him was cut short but he was the best and the only one who understood me. Now 19 yrs later I'm 37 with 3 kids, I can listen to this and smile knowing he's guiding me through. Great tune!
As a father sometimes we only think about what we want our sons to be. Its easy to not notice what we give them without even knowing. My old man gave me what I needed. My son turned me on to this video..I thank him for that.
Dads been gone nearly 4 yrs now and my sister sent me this song. A mirror of me and him. He had to win sat night or we didnt have the gas to go home. Now i can grieve. Didnt till i heard this
R.I.P. to my Pops and all of those fathers that not only raised a kid right but busted their a** on the daily for the benefit of their family thanklessly, miss you sooo much Pop…Thank You RLK for this song, it means so much to me
He didn’t have much A pair of hard working hands Everything that I needed I got it from the old man With a nine second dream He drove the Redlight Bandit And the grease on his hands Was the way he commanded And the life he demanded It kept us all in a struggle When he ruled with his fist It kept us all out of trouble Even though he would leave He wore his heart on his sleeve And by the way that he walked He taught me how to believe Old man look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Old man, old man take a look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Growin’ up at the track He had a reason for being fast His heart felt like breaking He’d look right up at the ceiling and Start again, never breathe a word of his loss Cause it’s not about winning It’s the rivers you cross And the pain that you feel Could be the fuel that you use And if you’re in need of direction Be it the path that you choose My old man is a legend He cast a shadow so great I think of how he is watchin’ With every move that I make Old man look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Old man, old man take a look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Now there’s no slowin’ down There’s only settin’ the pace No more dreams to be stolen Just the right ones to chase You’ve been through the worst Now you know who to trust Leave them something behind Before the ashes and dust Old man look at my life Old man look at my life Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Old man, old man take a look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you Old man, old man take a look at my life Take a look, take a look Old man, old man take a look at my life cause I’m a lot like you
Sept 8th 2022, I lost my dad. Life won’t ever be the same. I always called him old man. Loved Neil young’s version then I heard this and fell in love all over again. Imma do your memory proud old man. Only true parent I ever had. RIP Ricky Bradshaw Jr.
“And the pain that you feel could be the fuel that you used.” Every day Oldman, Been a little over a year since I lost you, but I’ve been stuffing it down and handling my business like you want me to. I love you pops. R.I.P Ricky D. Bradshaw Jr. 07/12/1974-09/08/2022
My old man was who made me who I am. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but he was always the one I looked up to and he’s the role model who always pushed me to be all I could be. I’m not sure I could ever tell him that, but I hope he knows it.
My son told me, this is what he wants his son to think of him. Because that's how felt about me. I lost my son 4 years ago and I still cry when I hear this song. He was an amazing man and a true dad
I feel the same for my old man, he may have put me through hell, but he did the best he could and I'm ecstatic to still have at my side as of this comment
My dad passed away December 4 he was a great builder he actually built Neil Young‘s recording studio this song was recorded in and remodeled his house back in 74 I was seven years old then looked up to him just the way I do now and always well amen
Thank you Dad for teaching me, the importance of making your word matter and try best to always keep your word as real as possible with the amount of knowledge you have at the time, and man enough to admit your wrongs, and brave enough to see through the BS, call it out if necessary, and in the end let God take care of fools, because you have children who love you, just as you loved me growing up. And Dad I found your journals so you would forget about me, and along with the help of your Grandchildren, even a ex son in law, who still needed a Dad to look up too, and a talk from someone who you must have respected there words, because before you went home to Heaven this last year, they brought you back to me, so I could tell I'm proud to have you as my Dad, and we should them that with forgiveness and trying to do the things, Love and Faith will always find its way back to you, with faith as little as mustard seed, God knows our hearts, and he knew he had a son he could be of in you, Dad. RIP please take care of your Grandson for me up in Heaven until we meet Again. Thank you for being my BFF and my Dad. You shall missed but never forgotten. Love always your Daughter
My old man is 63 years old. I'm 20. My real old man passed when I was 3 but the man my mom left for my dad took a step up and raised me. Even when my mom passed when I was 16. He's always helped me. This song reminds me of me and him alot. Appreciate y'alls father's. Or step father's. They do try their best to help. My old man still helps me and he's struggling really bad. Good people do exist. Just very rare
I lost my dad yesterday and this is the song that fits us I love you old ur my hero in alot of way thank you for being everything to me rest in peace dad(old man) ur son Jack Jr
My grandfather was my father figure growing up because my real father is a party hard drug addicted biker. But back in the day my grandfather was a greaser who always built and raced cars, we owned a small farm that shut down in 2008. He passed two years ago and taught me almost everything I know, I just hope I can do him proud.
I remember when I first heard this song. I caught the sampling of Neil Young's song "Old Man" in the lyrics. This should be a dedication to all those Father's out there.
Huge respect to Neil and Kaz. Serious generation hand-off for the song, the message and the vibe. Message is solid, end to end and year to year, some to remember and something to fear. Well done - PNW US Salutes The NorBorders. Well Done.
His lyrics coupled with Neil Young's chorus of Old Man is simply incredible, both are very experienced people with life and it shows through in this song
They knocked this song out of the park, great job RLKs! Like so many we all have our Dad's in us that seems to come out in us the older we get like it or not. I turn into my Dad more everyday. On behalf of all the kids that had great Dad's or step Dad's I want to say Thanks we love and miss you. My dad passed away when I was 21 back in 2010. Was young and stupid didn’t appreciate what was in front of me. Appreciate every day you have with yours pops. There are things till this day I can’t say or take back. This songs make me tear up every time but In a good way. Thank you for making this song.
In memory of my step dad James E. Jeremay 3-8-45 till 5-19-96 you were such an awesome person in my life and I wanna thank you for all the good times we had, love ya dad

A song like this sure reminds me of just how much I miss my old man. Taken too soon due to cancer. Just glad he was able to teach me as much as he did. Money cant buy what he was able to do. Everyday I try to follow his footsteps and be even half the man he was.
My old man put his MC life behind him for me. He risks his life to be my friend. Mama lives by the Bible Daddy lived by the gun. I live by both. Thanks pops. Love you.
I miss my dad. This might as well have been an autobiography. I gave him this song and a few others on an Mp3 player the week before he died. He battled and won leukemia- and caught pneumonia and died 4/20/17. I love you, dad. I will always be like you. You're gonna be so proud of me.
This song is an AWESOME and very meaningful song. It reminds me of my daddy from head to toe, he use to race motorcycles and he didn't/ don't take shit off of anyone ( I'm a fighter also, I don't think twice before I start throwing punches ) I'm a huge daddy's girl still at the age of 47. PLEASE don't get me wrong I love my momma just like I love my daddy. I told my momma that when it's daddy's time to go that I want this song played at his funeral, IF I'm still around ( I'm battling colon and pancreas cancer ) Even thou I've been married for 14 years, my daddy is my number one man. I can't and don't want to imagine life without him, momma, or my daughter.
this song hits home real hard , got me thinking . this is by far my favorite song can't believe I'm just hearing about this band also . great music hope they keep it up ,new fan for life
Not trying to be deep, just speaking my mind. I'm confused though, you attempt to insult me when I've done nothing to offend you. What is your reasoning behind that?
Did that make you feel big? Huh tough guy? How you feel? Like a champ? I bet you do! You can swear and insult people for no reason! You must be so mature!
Ed A. You're still talking? You're lame, why do you think you'll never have any hot girls be head over heels for you? Is this the part where you tell me you have a beautiful girlfriend? Ok, even if that IS true, she's going to dump you eventually. Because you're a pathetic sap.
Neal Cox Really? Where'd that even come from haha. Why am I a pathetic sap? I talked down to someone who deserved it. So what? I'm finished with it now so I don't see any problems. Really though... What the Hell did girls have to do with any of that? And you really are in no place to judge me because you don't actually know me. In reality I am probably more respectful to women than a majority of the guys my age and I'm also loyal to anyone who is decent enough to earn my respect. Try getting to know someone first. You might just have a different opinion of them. G'night man.
My old man far from perfect when I was a kid. Wasn’t around as much as he should of been. But I’m so happy he is now. Especially being a father now. Right your fathers wrongs and keep all his legacy... I love you old man. So proud of everything you are.
If you like this song get the album. You won't be disappointed. GREAT all the way through. I have to say when I hear an album this damn good almost two years after it was released. It makes me understand why the music industry is in trouble.
I lost my Dad 3 weeks ago. I hold it together most of the time but sometimes it just hurts to much and I lose it. Dang it I wasn't ready for you to go Dad. Your grand babies weren't ready. This song made me think of him before but now that he's gone it hits the nail on the head.
I look at my sons and hope I do them justice. Work hard and make things worth every breath. Even as I go for my rare bike rides, they are always on my mind.
Reconnected with my dad after almost 2 years not speaking. We bonded over Neil Young my whole life and when he sent me this it all came full circle. Music heals people.
Now this is how ya do a remake!! You keep the original feel and sound but completely make it your own and change it enough that it's not just a straight up copy! Amazing job! This is on par with what the band Cake did with war pigs when it remade that black sabbath classic! Ya should do yourself a favor and check it out if you've never heard it! You'll be blown away for sure!! Both are outstanding remakes, 2 of the absolute best I've ever heard!
