Just to give a better understanding of Redman, ironically, his government name is actually Reggie Noble. His 1st album, 'Whut! Tha Album', was very experimental cus he was a DJ before rapping. His 2nd album, 'Darez A Dark Side', he considered himself underground. In fact, on the album cover, he's neck-deep in dirt. His 3rd album, 'Muddy Waters', was where he considered himself going more mainstream (watered down), so he climbed out of the dirt on the previous album and washed himself down, hence, his dried up muddy clothes sitting next to a TV. The beenie, glasses, denim overalls, and Timberlands became his signature look. That look later evolved into a mascot and cartoon character that would be a part of his image and promotion. Very clearer branding. *Muddy Waters is also a legendary Blues singer back in the 40s and 50s.

Oh Redman has always been in my top ten and nothing's changed. If anything he's cemented his position even further. Dude down got even sharper even though he hasn't dropped a full length project in a while, but his freestyles he been dropping are undeniable.

"Dare iz a Dark side" album Redman said he never performs anything off that album because he was high out of his mind on dust and all types of shit so that was truly a dark time in his life. Me particularly DIAD album because my personal favorite from Red and MW close second. Oh and As much as I love Havoc and appreciate his production, and it is dope, He ain't got shit on Eric Sermon. Double aka the green eyed bandit is way more musical and melodious with his production than Havoc. Havoc is straight boom bap whereas Eric is just musical. He's actually into musicianship and that's what sets them apart IMO. You've never heard anything that havoc has done that sounds remotely like "music" that Eric produced. E is also heavy into sampling P Funk that G Funk is heavily influenced by, or the next reiteration and evolution of P Funk. Either way They're not the same, and Eric has the advantage in my most humble opinion
