Dallas made out like bandits that draft. Rasmussen will never live up to that #9 pick but we do love him in Detroit. What hurts more is taking Lindstrom when the very next pick was Jason Robertson :(
@@MikeBartner that one is brutal but I’ll still give Holland a pass on that one because Zadina slid to us and could have been that 40+ goal scorer that Robertson has turned out to be. Just sucks cause there were some really tough misses and then no draft lottery luck either. Still though the wings have a bright future with Yzerman at the helm
I feel like Suzuki is a guy who can still improve in this draft. Like you said the Habs have been a dogshit offensive team. By the end of the year for the last 30ish games it was Pinard and Dach or Anderson with Suzuki. Dach isnt bad bu RHP is a bottom 6 forward and Adnerson is too. I think if Caufield and Slaf breakout next season Suzuki can easily be a ppg player and be a top 5 pick
I agree an equally good center is more important than an equally good defenseman but I still think Makar is better than Pettersson given his track record and even this year Makar is on like 107 point pace great both ways.
Honestly, if the devils could go back to that draft day, I think they still draft hischier. I can’t really see them drafting anyone else, especially with how much he means to the team and how good of a leader he is at only 25 years old. Also, when he was hurt this year for the devils, they were so bad, even with jack hughes back. I think the devils need jack hughes and nico hischier to succeed
Robertson far overrated imo. I would go there Hischier / Heiskanen 3 and 4 (depends on the team) and then 5th Suzuki and like 6th Robertson... guys like Hischier and Suzuki just get "trashed" by looks at the statistics.. but check the games.. check their impact in the team's like playmaking and intelligence.. so much more important players.. not the Robertson type of wingers... I mean look @ Bratt drafted 6th round 2016. and still as good as Robertson.
Honestly, I dont think the devils would choose anyone else bit hischier. He is the heart and soul of the team and he is kind of the glue to the whole team
What are you talking about. Robertson is a better offensive producer while being a far better defensive forward as well as having a more complete game than Bratt
@@MikeBartner lol i would've been goddamn irate. These are fun vids man. Robo on the Avs 🤯. Ottenger vs Swayman is a toss up. I would take either over Suzuki or Thomas w how rare/valuable a stud Goalie is. 2016 is even more wild: Matthews, Fox, Matt Tk, Mcavoy, Sergachev, Chychrun, Tage Thompson, Kyrou, DeBrincat, PL Dubois, Hronek, Hagel and Bratt way late. Also you drive me nuts with your " goddamn Konecny couldve made this list, Tippett goddamn couldve ..." Flyers shade lol. Tippetts skill set and size are insane, I believe he'll surpass than batherson suzuki and Thomas now that he's putting it together. His speed, strength, and shot are insane. I've seen him take over games when it feels like he's creating major chances every shift, always seems to make a play late in the game , went superstar mode on his two goal of the year contenders..has freakish strength on his skates w elite speed (top speed this season- his EDGE adv shot and speed in general are crazy edge.nhl.com/en/skater/8480015 ).
I think that I agree with your list but I disagree that Makar is the best D-man right now. Offensively it's close but Makar is +12, Hughes is +34, both playing on elite teams. So it is not ridiculous to say that Hughes is better.
Bro Casey didn't even have 60 points on a very good offensive team last year while Suzuki who also is great defensively scored 65. And this season has been even better defensively and is pacing for more points. Also the captain of one if the most hardcover fan bases which is always tough.
Suzuki is on pace for 79pts.... Casey for 66pts.... Suzuki outscored him every freaking season by a big or very big margin. Suzuki is the better centre for sure
