Hello everyone! In this week's video I am redrawing my husband's art using the same art supplies! My husband Josh volunteered to help me make a video! He doesn't usually draw, but wanted to give it a try! He created his picture using Prismacolor colored pencils so I will be doing the same!

I respect your husband for trying something new that he never tried until meeting you^^ While his drawings may be rough now, but maybe with time and interest he'll slowly gets his own artstyle^^ Edit: Also his voice just reminds me of one of my friends in Discord who has pretty similar voice, the kind and gentle somewhat deep voice

For someone who is just venturing into drawing, your husband is very good! He has a grasp on facial feature placement that a lot of people struggle with, and it color choice is lovely! Plus he has the start of a very cute cartoony style.

I literally can’t get over how cute this was! I think Josh’s designs were actually really interesting, and I love how his ideas pushed you to branch out and experiment with new things!! It's very sweet your hubby took part in this 😊 The video gave me an idea....why don't you do a video where you're using only primary colors? You can show how you can utilize different hues/values/saturation to make more colors....that would be cool. Added: did you and hubby see the first 2 episodes of Ahsoka? How did you like it? 😊

As someone who recently decided to try drawing more than usual because there’s a lot stories I want to tell as a comic (kinda because of you and also because other methods kept proving unreliable) it’s super cool of Josh to let you do this. All I’ve learned so far is that it takes a lot of patience.

Potentially fun video idea? Go to a restaurant where they give out crayons with kids menus and use those to draw art! Limitations are up to you but you have to include the crayons you receive! :D

I love that he gave drawing a try! Honestly we all start somewhere with something and his drawings are just that! I think it’s so fun to see a new artist’s art and watch them improve if they feel like doing so! I haven’t finished the video yet but I’m sure your redraws will be beautiful as well! Edit: just finished and I loved them!! I enjoyed seeing you tackle a beard, haha! I’ve strayed from them for now as they intimidate me in drawings lol

tip: if you want to “flip the canvas” with traditional art, you can use a mirror. it can sit on your desk, and unlike the window, doesn’t require you to get up everytime.

Something to think about with color pencil for hair is if you go over the area the hair will be with similar or undertone colors, think purple, gray, and blue for black or yellow, light purple, and light brown for dirty blond, lightly and in the same direction multiple times you can give the illusion of movement and separate hair strands from the slight variation in colors.

Despite not being an artist, he has a very good eye for art and picking colors! 💜 Like- green and purple!? And blue and orange?! These are such good combinations of colors! And also, for only having been drawing for a couple of times, Josh did a lovely job! Josh used great colours. The first one was complementary/split complementary. the second one seemed complementary (almost even triadic). It is really amazing that he pushed himself out of his comfort zone.

The first drawing kinda looked like Josh was going for the Disgusted girl from Inside-Out in my opinion, I really enjoy the effort he put into his drawings! ❤😂 Btw if you have a mirror you could use that to flip your traditional drawings! Just a small tip ^^ Yesterday I was working on one of my Ocs and the hair was nothing like I usually do hair, and I kinda liked it. I just went with the flow and it was great 😂

Lemme just say that even tho Josh doesn’t draw much, his stylistic and color choices were amazing. They fit each character really well. They could easily be in the same world and having an (uncomfortable) interaction

1st drawing - I think the messier texture works for the sweater :) I was kind of mesmerized watching you draw the hair; it just kept getting better and better. 2nd drawing - I kept thinking of fire, and I love those vibes. Blue and orange is one of my favourite colour combos This just really makes me wanna try out coloured pencils haha Also your husband sounds very sweet, if he's comfortable I would love to see more of him :) OH! Edit!! I really love the way the expressions are very visible and it's clear what type of personality the characters have (or perhaps what emotions they're experiencing, or both) just by looking at their facial expression and pose!

Dang, I was looking back at some of my older drawings of people (I’m packing things up because my family is selling our house so I found a lot of random things including old drawings of mine). He did better than me, congratulations I think you did really good. And they were very creative, it reminded me of something my brother would draw (he also likes art and comes up with creative ideas I could never dream of).
