Reds Meadow fishing in Mammoth Lakes, CA at the Middle Fork San Joaquin River, Devil's Postpile 

Found the best fishing spot on the Middle Fork San Joaquin River. Take the bus from the main Mammoth Mountain Ski Lodge down to Reds Meadow (if the road is not washed out). On the way down the road, get off the bus at the start of the Devil's Postpile Boundary Trail. Go beyond the fence posts just behind the Visitors/Rangers Station. There you will find a meadow with a slightly overgrown trail that winds around to a hand full of deep enough fishing pools ripe for the picking. Brown and Rainbow natural trout hungry for barbed fly bait await!
