awesome tutorial, I was scowering youtube for Redshift houdini tutorials for materials and from yours I finally realized that Redshift is basically the same function wise across all 3D packages. thank you!
You can leave comments or shoot us an email at www.youme.academy. We also have an Instagram channel. I am doing a new series where I select questions to answer called the Hotline How-To. Thanks for your support!
I wish this tutorial was available 2 years ago when I first started using Redshift, the first 7 minutes would have saved me weeks. It was explained so well. By the way, am I the only person who doesn't understand why they didn't name the Blend Colour port something more intuitive like "Mask"?
thank you for putting these out - - - - - - - - - some of the best I have came across - so thank you - - - also - if you could put out a video on how to apply a decal to say a football helmet in redshift - Im having a tuff time with this
Love your tut so much, simple, easy to understand... BTW could pls release some guidline about making a leaf in C4D? Hoping to see this soon !! thanks !!!
Thanks for the great explanation! (: Would you mind telling me how to do that "fast node connection short cut" when you just have to select a node and it connects instantly? Would be fantastic - thanks in advance and have a nice weekend!
Mine is set to Shift +F. In your Customize Commands tab you can search for Connect to Node Output and set it to what you’d like :) Thanks for the support 🤜🤛
Wow this is amazing! I am new on RS and thank you sooo much for sharing! One question, where do you find the roughness maps? Would it be possible to see the C4D file for this video? Thank you again!!!
You’re welcome, glad it helped you! The roughness textures are from The French Monkey texture packs, but any roughness pass will work. As for the project file we can not release it because the textures and model can not be redistributed. Thank you for the support 🤜🤛
Thanks for the good tutorial. I subscribed in the first 10 seconds. I have a question, how can you stack/layer a transparent material. The "Blending Color" for the assigned layer allows the material to be visible but if it's transparent, it doesn't show what's behind it.
Great Tutorial. But I am not able to drop a material into the Shader graph and connect it to the blender like you dit on 5:02. Is this not working in R25?
Hi Will, I currently do not have r25. I found it to be incredibly unstable so I am back a few versions. Hopefully you can find a solution. Thank you for the love and support!
what about stacking different materials so each material is using different projections. In C4d you can use procedural shader.. then take your camera and project another material with an alpha mask on top and you can zoom in to the area you want...so say you have a skin material over everything... then you can take a camera point on the forehead and place a scar material exactly where you want.. like a decal..so you could have multiple materials stacked in the object manager on the object.. so the entire material stack isnt bound by one material.. one material can be repeated and another material can just be one tile material projected on the surface of the tiled material and so forth..
How did you drag that gold scratch material into node editor as a texture, I mean If I drag that it comes as a mat and it doesn't have that out color port???
