Put some lead shot inside an empty 12 gauge hull. Crimp it closed on the end. Then slide it into the stock bolt hole. On most guns, you can put at least two of these into the buttstock. Each one will weigh about 3.5 ounces, so you can add almost a half pound of weight to your gun with almost no expense. Another easy method is to use a roll of nickels. This works quite well.
I did the same thing on my daughter's Franchi semi- auto youth 20 gauge. The factory out of the box 20 gauge 3" magnum loads produced more recoil than my 12 gauge 3" magnum, which is too much recoil for a young hunter. We also ended up putting in about 2lbs. extra weight of lead shot in the butt stock to make it comfortable for her to shoot.
Outstanding video what a great idea! Get a gel butt pad too! those things weigh quite a bit throw that on the back that would help as well and more comfortable! I want to get these for my son and daughter and I want them to be able to enjoy it thank you very much what a great video I'm subbing!
I've been told ...measure the length of the plastic plug ...cut a piece of black pipe ..knock off the burs ...spring still fits inside of pipe ...a little more weight ...but more stability...less shoulder impact ...let me know if it works for you ...
