SHOTGUN HACK: Less Recoil with This Easy Solution | In our experience, less shotgun recoil always results in better performance and more enjoyment. It's true that we can 'handle" guns with a lot of recoil, but at the end of the day, less recoil is always better. @@edwardabrams4972 FalconStrike with liquid has to be softer shooting than Limbsaver. Maybe by a small margin but still I bet the FalconStrike would absorb more recoil. Now whether the gun moves sideways or squirms more one way or the other with the FalconStrike I would have to try one and see about that. For me and my 20" barreled Remington 11 with a decent foam pad that looks to be a Limbsaver that runs slugs, buck and hi base # 4's to lay down poppers in 2-3 gun matches, I would say even a small reduction in recoil is worth the extra dollars. I also know the FalconStrike would be softer on my sporterized 03-A3 30-06 with it's 54 year old Pachmayr pad and I will be buying one for that rifle.

i have bad 70 year old shoulders, tried one and i love it. its on a Remington 870, those kick like a mule!!! i am going to get one for a new-used 50 yr old Winchester 1200 that i just purchased, best $200.00 i ever spent, but i have to wait until i save up for it.. everyone says im crazy to put a $200.00 pad on a $200,00 gun....got to save the shoulder! I am for the minimal recoil. I used to shoot a lot more, but with a cycling accident, my shoulder does not like it much. Great info!

You are the only one, in the past few years, who has reviewed the falconstrike recoil pad. I have found no other video reviews. Emailing the company has been useless because I get no response. Are there no other reviews anywhere that aren't biased? And is there a return policy? $200 is a lot to spend on something I will never use, but if it works then it is worth it to me.

Recoil generally doesn't bother me. However, I just purchased a new Winchester SXP Hybrid 12g recently. I took my son out to shoot some clays and let me tell you my shoulder and cheek are sore!! I saw this video and now I'd like to try one of those Falconstrike pads!

It depends on the gun for me. My waterfowl guns recoil doesn't bother me but shooting my o/u weatherby orion with browning bxd, my shoulder kills. I could see having a recoil pad on that.

I shoot quite a lot! Trap and Rifle. For years I have had a terrible flinch with any gun. Let alone the sore shoulder as I am pretty much a walking skeleton......no meat on my collar bone!. I have built many custom stocks for myself and used the Limb Saver pads. They work OK. But I tried the Falcon Strike one time and I was pleasantly surprised. Way better than the Limb Saver for reduced recoil. I have since bought three more for my 45-70.....308 rifle.....CZ over/under 12ga. ....and my Kreighoff O/U trap gun. All of these additions to these guns no make shooting them pleasurable. No more Pain and No more Flinching! I look at it this way......if gonna spend the long buck to buy them why not buy a great recoil reduction pad to compliment your prized possessions for $200. I see many guys spending $20K for a gun and $2000 for custom stock and too cheap to add a Falcon Strike. Makes no sense to me. I am only writing this because this invention is the best money I have ever spent! I can shoot all day with the best of them and have no pain as a result.

had a single shot h&r 20 gauge growing up that kicked like a mule been shooting my 870 12 gauge using 3in for waterfowl for years now recoil just comes with hunting and it doesnt bother me anymore

Love the idea you can have less felt recoil but still the same power. Shooting shotgun especially, All that recoil into your shoulder starts getting to you after a few rounds. It kinda scares me to take the gun out knowing I'm gonna get kicked each time I pull that trigger.

Your cheek shouldn't hurt from shooting. If it does the gun isn't fitting you properly. If you hate recoil look at the ammo you use. You only need 1oz 1200fps to shoot sporting clays, skeet, trap, 5 stand. I see guys killing their shoulders shooting 1 1/8 oz 1290-1300+ and theyre not hitting more than a guy shooting 1 oz 1145 fps. If you have an injury that's where a pad product and good gun fitting will help.

Shot my 12ga o/u the other day and the trigger guard cut my Kunkle it kicked. I switched back to my 20ga to finish out the day. Recoil was not a problem when I was young and dumb, but now as I am approaching my twilight years it has become more of a concern.

Steve, one more comment: I find that an ultra soft pad increases recoil to the face. So a pad has to be soft but also structured. You have piqued my interest in the Falcon pads. Perry P.

It absolutely works. I put one on a 12ga. O/U that had a pretty nasty recoil. Now it shoots like a dream. I also had a 13 year old shooter try it and he felt very little recoil. Great great product. I highly recommend it for older shooters like myself.

Recoil is your enemy. Sooner or latter it will effect you. The Falcon Strike is your friend and well worth the money.

I have shot trap for a few years now. I never had an issue with recoil. Unfortunately in June of this year I had a heart attack. I am now on blood thinners and I bruise very easily. I shoot a Browning Citori XT. I am struggling with pain and bruising. I also do not want to extend my LOP either.. I’ll check Falcon Strike. I have a thinner Kick Eze on now, and it’s not helping enough.

I’m an avid trapshooter. I have guns fitted with the following recoil absorption devices: ISIS, ProSoft, RAD, PFS and Wenig Recoil System. All of them work very well - and all of them are quite expensive, $500 or more. The Falcon strike is a less expensive and quick option to help take some off the bite out of your recoil. No, it doesn’t absorb recoil as well as the aforementioned systems. However it does work well enough to allow me to shoot over 300 rounds per day. I really like my Falcon Strike pads. Easy to install and it just works.

Coming from Canada where the price is $219.CDN plus 13% VAT. Why there are no choice of black powder coated plate. This silver aluminum contrasting with black pad looks cheap. Great review always enjoy your channel.

I could benefit by using a Falcon Strike. I’m 77 and suffer with allot pain when shooting. I bought an automatic to lessen recoil but since the last dislocation it’s painful to even shoot it. Haven’t shot my over/under because of the recoil in years. Thanks I watch your videos regularly.

I’m old with a pacemaker that’s next to my shoulder so I can’t have hardly any recoil. Switched to the 410 and sometimes a 3/4oz 20ga load. Btw my 3/4oz 20’s reload works better than the 28ga.

I'm 72 with major surgery on rotator cuff and reattached bicep and chest muscle. I bought a Baretta A400 12 gauge and it's a bit hard on the shoulder, but I find myself getting hit in the cheek a lot with the stock. My question is will this pad stop the gun from hitting my cheek or do you think this is a fit problem?

I don't notice recoil when I'm shooting, never a shoulder issue. For me, lots of neck arthritis, my neck hurts for several days after shooting lots of 12ga. No shoulder pad out there will prevent my recoil issue. Falcon strike is way overpriced, just don't buy inertia guns, too many nice gas guns out there.

I don't have to worry about recoil b/c I put Falcon Strikes on both of my Go-2's; a Franchi Instinct Side Plate 12 Gauge and a matching (both stocks milled from the same billet of gorgeous walnut) 20 Gauge Side Plate. The Falcon Strikes made the LOPs on both guns perfect and recoil, especially on the 12 Gauge, is negligible on both guns also. Pre-Falcon Strike install, I had the identical problem with my 12 Gauge Franchi as Steve referred to; sore cheek halfway through a box of shells. I shot two rounds of 5 Stand and two rounds of Skeet with the 12 last Saturday (100+ shotshells) and suffered no ill effects whatsoever; no shoulder bruise, no sore cheek and no detached retinas!

Newton's law , "every force has an equal and opposite motion" If you're accelerating an once and a half of lead to 1500 FPS in a 7lbt gun, then that gun will move more than if you were to accelerate 1oz to 1325fps in a 8 1/2 pound gun. Any gun needs to fit and you need to pull it in, a push is much better than a punch !! A light sub bore load in the correct place will break a clay or kill a bird. Shooting is fun, do what you need to do to make it work for you.

Aint bologney i just purchased my first 12 ga sxp defender. Buttplate feels nice till ya hit that 11 shot mark. Granted its for home def so with asrenalin running i wonder if ill even notice the pain. Recoil vertically is already non existant.

Sharing another technique to grind the metal plate. I installed the plate and covered the stock with 2 layers of masking tape, to protect it. Sanded the metal plate using a few strips of 150 grit sandpaper, wrapped around a small wood block. Positioned the sandpaper strip about ⅜ inch below block's top edge. That way, I could have the block’s top edge “sliding” on the masking tape, while the sandpaper below was sanding the metal, progressively matching the stock's shape and angle. I originally thought about polishing the metal plate edge, but was pleased with the “brushed aluminum” look finishing strokes of 150 grit gave.

Recoil Durant bother me, shit heavy loads all the time. Load mine own fur the meat shoot out 120 yards. 1 1/4, 1 3/8, and sneak in some 1 1/2. But I would like to see what one of these pads do.

Don't want to sound like a Debbie downer, but figured I would at least warn you about grinding aluminum on a metal grinding wheel. If the grinding wheel is not rated for aluminum. It will plug up with the aluminum and create heat and the wheel can come apart. I realize that you only took off a little bit and probably won't be any issue, but thought I wood baiting you about it. I’m in a group of less recoil is better. Two years of getting over two different types of cancer has physically weaken me so . Recoil does matter . In fact, if I don’t get these, I could not shoot. And I still haven’t.

Im in the camp of less recoil is always better. Why beat yourself up, when lower recoil will get you on target faster for follow up shots and reduce fatigue, very important for tournaments. Price is a little up there, but less than a gracoil and doesnt require a smith to install.

Does the weight of the shooter have affect on recoil im about 260lbs and never had a problen with shotgun recoil but ill go shooting with a lot smaller people and they complain about recoil and sometimes have to take a step back after a shot

Im in the tesm that hates recoil, but it's not because of the impact but rather the change of sight picture.

I would love one for my grandfathers old Ithaca it seems kick a bunch and I don’t shoot as much as I would like to because of it

The less felt recoil the better! Arthritis and neck problems have limited my time behind my shotguns(which are my favorite to take out to the range)

I added a limb saver recoil pad to my beretta a300 outlander and it’s a night and day difference now

First you gotta grind on the pad then you gotta drill new holes in the stock no sound nothing easy about it Is At $200 you ought to be able to bolt it on and go

I could definitely benefit from a falcon strike being a very small person being in the camp that accepts recoil but does not like it

I definitely am in for less recoil!! Dont care for certaing shotguns that kick hard anymore!

And if you have two cams, use both. Look at the other one from time to time.

Recoil didn't use to bother me. Now years down the road and 25 years of trades work I want the least felt recoil I can get. Keep up the awesome videos.
