I like that idea of take it out on mini rides then go back then out further and so on. Good idea for me to try with my younger Walker. That is also good ifo regarding how the animal operates going out and going home. Thank you. 😊

Separation Anxiety in the trailer is my problem with my guy. No calming supplement works, even Ace. He quivers with adrenaline overload and sweaty coming out of the trailer. Once he is unloaded and I am now with him again he is fine. Wish I knew what to do to help him with the initial panic attack about leaving home.

There are a few reasons why horses find trailers extremely stressful. Addressing these before they go in the trailer can really help. I've had some good success stories through getting them used to particular things which I cover in my Loading Series but something you can try is to get him much more comfortable with leading pressure - when the pressure comes on, how does he respond - with understanding and softness - or is there a slight pullback or brace? It is very related to how they travel.
