Thanks for the review. The pump is orange and looks like that because they are a tribute to the original basketball pumps. As someone who was a kid in the 90s when those came out, I love that they did it that way. The best are the white with blue woman's version which was the original colourway.
I was looking for this review on your channel as i discovered Reebok was shipping to my country, leaving my options to adipower 3's, romaleos 4 and Reebok legacy 3's. Didnt find the review so I just ordered the 3's, ofc one day before you guys release this video. I really need maximal heel height, hope I made the right choice. Edit: Might be as good as romaleos 2's and an improvement of the legacy 2's. Sounds like it was the right choice. Keep posting great content.
They real stabile. The narrowes in the toe boxs widen up after some use and really melts Nice around the foot. From a start feeling of narrow to a really Nice fit
I managed to pick these up with a 35% discount, coming from the Adidas Power Perfect 3. They are simultaneously more secure and more comfortable than the PPs. The pump system makes lacing down the shoes tight a lot more comfortable for me. Bought the black/blue ones. For anyone interested in sneakers the colours are actually kinda interesting. They’re all throwbacks to shoes from Reebok’s past, like mine are Shaq’s first signature shoe. Think they’re doing it for the nostalgia factor, now that Reebok no longer is part of the adidas group.
@@sikastrength Gum soles in general are aesthetic as fuck. If they made the LL3 women’s in off white with gum soles, I would’ve been mad that they didn’t make ‘em in my size.
That is interesting. If the blue and black are throwbacks to the original shaqs do you know where the inspiration came from for the white/green/yellow and the black/white/red?
@@bevans8922 I think the white/green ones were inspired by a Michael Chang (tennis) signature Reebok Court Victory Pump, the black/white ones by the Reebok Pump Omni Lite which were worn by basketball player Dee Brown during the infamous Dunk Contest where the Pump became a phenomenon.
@@the.Aruarian Thanks for the reply...that's awesome I do remember Dee Brown pumping them up before winning the contest. pretty cool feature of these shoes!
Honestly waiting for that L-1 review from you all so I have someone to blame for buying them and not liking them, as a narrow toe enjoyer, I'm also curious how the wide toe translates to performance
I don't know much about weight lifting shoes and I'm just getting into Olympic presses but I did buy the shoes and when I put them on and I pumped it up I like the way the they fit snugger😊
@@samj8932 I thought so too because of squat jerk journalist. That guy probably tried lifter's pair 2 sizes smaller than him to say that. I asked the same question when someone said it's wider than anta1 because of him. Wide toe box both sideways and height of the toe box as well.
Do you plan on making a review of the anta 2 ? I own a pair of adipower 1 and i do like them yet even after years of use they still feel so narrow. The anta seems the right compromise but the price discurage me
I used Rom 2’s for years and loved them but they were slightly too narrow. Then I picked up some legacy 2’s and loved those but my pup decided he needed them to chew, so I took your recommendation and ended up with legacy 3’s and am really impressed so far 👍. Downside, I too have flipper feet…
I remember a video with Andrei Aramnau's quest for getting new weightlifting shoes. He was sent a pair of the original Adipowers which he did not like. Then he was sent a pair of the original Legacy lifters which he liked initially before deciding that the high heel was throwing him off. He finally settled on the Power Perfect 2's which he ended up wearing at the 2019 world championships. I always thought that 3/4" heel was the standard for weightlifting shoes. It seems like the new weightlifting shoes coming out in the last half decade have all been higher than that.
I would like some more 3/4 inch options the 1 inch definitely isn't for everyone. I did remember andrei lifting in those green reebok for a long time. Always looks kind of wrong on him
@@sikastrength Everything feels wrong coming from ironwork 2. Those things durability aside are pretty much perfect. It's the lightness of them that is special.
as a proud owner of legacy 2, adidas leistung 2016, asics 727 and power perfect 2 i have to say in theory legacy 2 are the best overall but for people with wide feet and me as a narrow feet guy my feet swim in legacy 2 for the first 3 months, now my favorite are leistung boa edition because of that narrow upper though not as stable and heavy as legacy 2
Currently I wear a rom 4 but I’ve noticed that the rubber on the heel is starting to rip and I was considering getting these shoes once the rubber on the heel does fully tear off
I had the same issue with my Rom 4s, I had to get a new pair recently. I can't stand Nike as a brand, but the shoes are so good that I'm not going to let my opinion dissuade me.
Thanks for another video review! Noticed you were wearing Vivos. Any chance you'd be able to do a video on the idea of barefoot running and walking and how that might affect weightlifting training?
Reebok made the best boxing boots, really comfortable, you would forget you had them on, they were amazing and then just stopped making them! If you love them buy a few of them. Reebok will just stop no matter how popular they are.
Very Interesting as I don’t know what to look for in a shoe at all. But if I just want to squat to get better at my sport, are weightlifting shoes even worth it for me over just using one of those rubber wedges to step on with normal shoes/barefoot?
How's the toe box in these compared to the original Legacy Lifters? I understand that it's apparently much narrower, but is it like to the point that I'd have to order a bigger size to fit in? My LL1s are starting to fall apart, so I'm in the market for new shoes I guess. Tried Leistungs recently, but they're too narrow and uncomfortable for me, would be a shame if the new LLs run similarly.
Pump tongue reminds me a bit of the original adidas leistung lacing system. But, having a mediocre history with legacy lifters I’ll probably stay with my romaleos 2 until they finally fall apart. Have had them for 7 years of nearly daily training and they’re holding up aight still besides losing some of the lacing and the tags on the tongue and interior. If anyone does have a suggestion close to the quality and feel of the romaleos 2 or the original Adidas adipowers drop the recommendations here.
Lads, I switched from rom 2s to asics and found the shoe to be perfect for me. Do you think a higher heel would be more beneficial than a wide toe box. Because after trying the tyr i dropped them because i felt no security.
At one point you guys mentioned it may not be the best fit for a lower weight class/well mobile person (hello, it's me). What shoe would come to your mind in that case? Currently using Rom4s, but they already seem tight, both in midfoot and by the toes af. Thinking about giving something else a shot.
Maybe give the Savaleos a shot. Roms 4’s are .75”, Savs are .59”. Otherwise the Inov-8 FastLift 325 are supposedly pretty good, very light and .65” heel height. Otherwise might be worth looking into shoes for Powerlifting or Crossfit.
@@the.Aruarian Savaleos is too sneakers-ish. Soft and sloppy feeling. I had given a thought to a crossfit shoe before, but the lack of lateral support makes me think it wouldn't be a very good idea. I had also given a thought to Tyr's shoe, but it's hardly available in my region. The vision of not having my toes cramped up to the point of discomfort is quite tempting, ngl. For now I've reduced effective heel height and that poking arch support by throwing out the insoles and putting in normal flat ones in my Rom4s. Builtin ones give probably some 30% of the heelheight so... yeah.
I’m new to weightlifting so I don’t know how weightlifting shoes are supposed to “feel,” but this shoe just doesn’t feel secure enough i.e. the lace and strap can’t be tied tight enough. The sizing should be good since there isn’t much room in front of my toes
How do you think these stack up against the nike romaleos 4. I am new to weightlifting and have the Nikes and find they can get quite tight over a session
The arch support on legacy 2s were too much, to the point where my feet would ache if I had them on for more than 30 minutes. I wonder if these are flatter in the insole.
Would you recommend this shoe for a 5'10" guy with good, but not great, ankle mobility? I can squat high bar ATG in flats, but obviously some heel would help. I've tried the Adipower 3's (first lifting shoe I've tried) and the heel height felt good, though sadly the fit of the shoe is utter crap. Looking at the Legacy 3's as an alternative but a bit worried about the heel height.
Adidas just need to cough up a leistung with better materials, laces and a strap.. Leistung Rio with just the boa was the last really good adidas shoe.
I’ve been using them as a more comfortable way to lock in the heel. Pump up the tongue, then pull down the laces and strap down tight. Far less pressure on the top of the foot and doesn’t cut into your feet.
@@kiwibird8441 Rose Anvil did a teardown and pressure test of a Pump bladder awhile ago. It seems like these things are incredibly over-engineered and can take pressure far greater than what you can hand pump in. Punctures are a different beast but it doesn’t seem likely in a gym.
