The very first CrossFit shoe I bought was a nano 4. Got it after I demolished a pair o general Nike trainers in rope climb… wish Reebok rereleases the 4, since it was virtually indestructible😂.
I tried these shoes because of this review and because of the nostalgia. Everything Jake says has been true and the review was super helpful with what to expect from the shoes
I never get why shoe companies try to fix something that's not broken, this is and was a good selling lifting/CrossFit shoe, just keep on making it set it aside as a legacy shoe, update the uppers occasionally or something, and sure keep on making new nanos (which are feeling more like clunky running shoes these days 🙄, not pure lifters) but call this the "Legacy Nano" or sumthing and just keep in making them in limited batch runs per year or something, sorry rant over😂
The nano 8 is legit my favourite shoe of all time...im so sad i didnt buy like 5 pairs back in the day... The pair i habe are near end of life at this point and im dreading finding a new shoe
@thatfitfriend 10 I just ordered the nano 2.0 after I watched this. I'm hopeful they will fill the void I tried the x3s the other day and it was jarring how much higher from the ground they felt and the toe box definitely felt way more narrow to me...but that could be a me problem...I have only owned these 8s since I bought them haha
Can't wait (weight?) to get back into training after hip surgery. Would sled push or pulls be better for posterior chain and glute building, or just do both?
@@thatfitfriend ay, we're at the point where we're building our own programs because the PT is busy entertaining someone else's fake carpal tunnel. Will definitely throw pulls in, these toothpicks are going to grow into twigs now!
Thanks Jake for your review. Would you say the sizing is true to size? I am a size 9.5 US 2E width in Brooks, so wondering if I should stick to 9.5 US in the Reebok Nano 2.0?
In terms of cross-training shoes? I don't think so. Have you considered going with a minimalist option like the Vivobarefoot Motus Strength or Xero Shoes 360?
I appreciate the response! That’s unfortunate, I hoped these would be wide enough for me. I have tried vivos in the past and found sizing up a whole size wouldn’t be enough for me. For context, I usually have to wear size 13 Icarus or splay shoes for everyday wear/working out
Hi your reviews are really informative and cover everything appreciated, ive just got the nano 2.0 and i like them plenty of room, however i intend to use them in the gym only, which brings me to my next question which you may not be able to answer as you only cover versatility, i have awkward flat feet, my pinky toe always splays when standing, and its a nightmare to find shoes to to fit, but i just need something for everyday use, work standing, general use, no CrossFit gym intentions, Reebok in some trainers do accommodate for wide fit, but there's so many, however it can be any brand you can think of to accommodate my awkward feet,Thanks.
I copped But it it made me sad that the last pair I purchased cost 32 bucks at a Reebok outlet. It’s crazy how overbuilt CF shoes have become compared to this phase
hi jake, nice video as always but i really need your help. i started gym like a month ago and i m looking for a shoe (possibly nike) that can be good for stability for light weights and lifting and light running on tapis roulant. i v seen shoes like the metcon 8, the legend essential 3 and the revolution 6 that is especcialy for running. im really confused and dont know which one to choose😢
Just ordered these because I like zero drop shoes but after ankle surgery am being told I’ll need something stiffer than a true “barefoot” shoe when returning to walking
Hi there , how wide is the mid foot? I have wide feet and my mid foot is always compressed, even in inov8 barefoot shoes. Only vivos give my mid foot a break , what would you predict for these ?
Shoot me a DM on IG and I'll send you a video of the midfoot/sizing later with a tape measure/put them next to my Vivos! Much easier to do that for your ask versus try to explain here!
Different types of shoes! Forza will be more flexible with more ground feel. This model will give you a little more midsole! Both are solid, just depends what you're after regarding feeling when training
I've been trying to find a replacement for my Nano 9s, and was excited about these, but after trying, they're way to narrow for anyone with wider feet, very uncomfortable unfortunately.
@@thatfitfriend Hi Jake! Sorry, I find the nano 2.0s to be too narrow, narrower than the nano 9s. Also tried the nano X3s and the heel drop is slightly too high, harder for toes to grip the ground as well. What do you recommend for a replacement of the nano 9s?! I'm stuck!
@@thatfitfriend just read your review on them too, and ordered the dropset 2 trainers 😁 thanks for replying! Didn't know what it was called, the "toe spring", but the nano 9s have very little toe spring which feels great, so I'm looking forward to trying the Adidas dropset 2s!
Found my pair of well-unused Nano 5s in the back of my closet the other day, still an epic shoe, but I still believe the Nano 6.0 had the edge over the 5.0
I have nano 9 and the toebox def wide enough for me but the midsole is a little tight and the arch always hurting my feet. What’s the width of the midsole on this one? Do you think it’s wider or narrower? Thank you Jake ❤️
Omg you’re so strong. I wish I would had listen to you and waited. I bought the Nike Metcon Zoom and I hate them so much. They made my ankles bleed. I should had bought these for CF
Haha, I don’t feel strong lately 😅 working through some runner’s knee. Thank you, though! Ah, sorry to hear. On the bright side, now you know that h those models/that training shoe line don’t align with your needs!
Hey Jake! I’m the market for some new CrossFit shoes. Might even grab two of them. Been really digging these and the Born Primitive Savage and wanted to know your thoughts? I’ve been a nano 8-9 and more recently a NoBull wearer but want to move on! Thanks!
I was so excited about these! Ordered a pair of men's 7's and they were a bit too big. If you're hoping to get some, do it quickly as they are selling out fast. I'm excited to see how the different size will fit. Thanks again for this review. As always it was awesome!
Hi everybody. My pair of Nano 2.0 just arrived yesterday and I have to say I can totally confirm what Jake says. So thank you very much Jake for your informative and complete reviews. Love them. Usually use Nike Metcon 7 in size 10 (EUR 44) and Metcon 8 FlyEase in 10.5 (EUR 44,5). 10.5 is my usual Nike size. For higher weights when squating I use the tighter/smaller Metcon 7. This Reebok model feels great right out of the gate. Very light, flexible and comfy. Of course much easier that the stiff heel Metcons. Did a plyo based workout yesterday and loved the Nano 2.0. Have not yet lifted heavy in them. Will see soon how they feel. Overall a great shoe, as what I can see, it seems to go out of stock now...
I'd like to ask you what's the better for heavy lifting and the complementaries (i'm a streetlifter) between Reebok Nano 2.0 (2023) and Adidas Powerlift 5? I was thinking to buy one of these but I'm not sure if could be better use a 4 mm heel to toe drop or a 15 mm, as I don't have any dorsiflexion or ankle's mobility issue
I'd go Nano 2.0. It's also like comparing apples to oranges when it comes to training shoes vs weightlifting shoes, so def keep that in mind. Nano 2.0 will give you most versatility.
