Cool pickup I truly hope Reebok does huge plans this year 2024 is the 35th Anniversary of the original release of The Reebok Pump because there was no commemoration in 2019 when it turned 30
Haaa i just dug my Changs outta storage last week lol I have the blue/yellow colorway I got bout 10yrs ago but mine has a yellow partial tongue with Reebok Tennis stiched in blue with Neon tennis ball. Also on the heel its yellow not gray like new release. The blue is different on my shoe also its like a Pepsi blue. Also the top inlet on my shoe is blue with yellow accent as the new release is blue with gray accent. Ive looked online everywhere but cant find this particular colorway. At 1st when I saw the re-release i thought 2 myself ohh I got those but upon further inspection mine are a lil different lol Reebok saw the demand n resell value over these yrs n decided 2 get a cut lol
This is a very good review on this retro remake. The problem with the 2010 and 2013 retros was the plastic around the ball (basketball or tennis). I have the originals which are 30+ years and they are in perfect condition whilst the retros are destroyed around the ball. Cheap plastic... Also the Hexalite on all retros is just fake. Its unacceptable for paying so much money. You expect to have a replica not a cheap knockoff. But from the video, I must say that the ball and the pump mechanism might be close to the original, also the tongue is like the originals, the retros didnt. Well, I ll buy a pair when they become available ... But the key issue here is quality. Its 2024 and we can't replicate a shoe from 1990? Come on!
@omorgen I do not have the original but I do remember it. The retro only pumps the tongue which is fine with me as long as it pumps . We really don’t need the heal pump even tho it would be nice because no one is really wearing these for sport anyways .
Is the blue plastic on the sides translucent like I remember in the original? The older reissue made them a solid blue😒. They also made the whole top of the tongue yellow. 🤮
I had the originals in the 90s, though I had the green/neon tennis ones. I think every kid blew out their pumps in the first week, we all pumped excessively. I just bought the same ones that Reebok released this week, they showed up a couple days ago. I cant believe how good the quality of the whole shoe is. I thought there was a hard plastic shell inside of them, but it's just a nice thick heavy leather. Even the stitching is beautiful, the hex stuff on the bottoms, the shape on the inside of the foot. It's a really beautiful shoe. I was looking at my Jordan Nike 312's and they look sloppy and cheap compared. I bought them the minute they released because I didn't know how fast or IF they would sell out. I also have the Reebok Club tennis pumps too.
Oh yea, I see you are talking about it now. The leather is the same or very comparable to my Karl Lagerfeld Stan Smiths. And you know they use good leather.
Our American new ones don't have that little The Pump circle on the side, thankfully, it looks WAY cleaner without. And ours were $160+ w/ free shipping
@@w4tkn I'm in Australia and got them at concrete jungle, also another placed has them here called "laced" And reebok Australia had them.on there site. Pretty much all sold out in those places now though.
The green CW just released. Weirdly it's a little more pricy. I had the first Reebok Pump basketball shoes (the really high, high tops) as a kid. As much as I loved them, I played tennis as a kid. I really wanted these. There was no chance my dad was going to get them for me as getting the basketball version was his only moment of generosity. I rocked clearance shoes (ironically a lot of Jordan 1s as they were cheap and I had big feet as a kid) for most of my childhood and teenage years until I could afford to buy my own. I don't know if it's a Mandela effect or what, but I only remember Michael Chang rocking the green CW. Yet the ad and commercials are different CWs.
I purchased a pair of those Reebok Pumps from Amazon in 2016. Not sure if they are real. But if they are they must be the ones retroed in 2014. The pump doesn't work at all. I went to visit 99 Flavor and it was sold out by now. I am hoping for it come out in the USA soon. What a gem of a shoe. Reebok Pump is so late 80s/early 90s.
@@Forsy23 I just purchased my pair but it is a different colorway from the one in your video. It's the same colorway as the commercial from 1990. How come?
Great unboxing thanks! Do you think the hexalite on those CV is better and more accurate than the one on previous release? I am going to pull the trigger on them accually and I will use them in sports.
