I now live about 40mins away from Brighton and see so many people in their shirts but it’s always great to see them look at me in my Chelsea cap, especially after we beat them (again 😆)

The fundamental problem with VAR is, that apart from offsides, the other calls are subjective which is why we get so much inconsistency. Effectively the referees on the pitch relies on someone else deciding if a decision should be reviewed pitch side or not. We should scrap VAR other than serious and OBVIOUS violent incidences (not mind reading intent) and offsides.

I would never support scrapping VAR because I have seen it being used so effectively in supposedly smaller leagues - J-league, Colombian league, Brazilian league, K-league, Asian games, AFCON. Referees in the premier league must discard ego associated with being the man in control and work as a team to make correct decisions during games. If there's ever any doubt about your decision, don't be stubborn. Just check VAR and consult with your refereeing team to decide the best outcome. How hard can it be?
