Yes it will work but for me personally prefer a 6’6 to 7’0 for me. Most of the bank fishing I do have lots of trees and low hanging branches. Usually I use whatever I have the particular lure I need. But if I’m grabbing a couple to go bank fishing 7’0 is a long rod. Hope this helps.

Honestly if I’m bank fishing I stay under 7’0. If I’m in a kayak I go 7’2-7’6 unless I’m throwing a Jerkbait, if I’m standing 6’6-7’0. Hope this helps.

What are you planning to use it for? If just a general purpose combo go 7’2. Are you bank fishing or from boat or kayak? If fishing from a boat or kayak go 7’6

I have Really liked this combo, just harder then most to fine tune but it’s very nice. Especially if your throwing 1/2 oz or bigger. Last week I was throwing 3/4oz lipless cranks and I almost outcasted the spool. Just launching bombs.

Did you try loosening your spool tension or throwing a heavier lure?
