@@dontbestupidstupid8758 Sinckler is a lot better now. Genge is worse then Sinckler though and isn’t good enough to justify it. All he’s done for England is complain because George Ford passed the ball the Daly because he was in a better position than him to score a try
I admire all of the tactical skills and hidden plans in sports, but the winding up of Sinkler doesnt seem like the most difficult of tasks. Possible area to exploit for lions opposition.
I'm English I really do not get annoyed, Joe Marler winds the opposition up all the time. Trying to wind up your opponent is part of the game whether you think it is right or not. If you react then it really is your problem.
Exactly, like AWJ said in the post match interview, he effectively said a lot of this didn't good, but it's in the game. It's up to you to not react. Like say he punched marler, AWJ would have gone off. No question. Everyone winds everyone up, Marler and AWJ happen to be good at it
@@alisdairhamilton-wilkes5394 It winds the opposition up further if someone acts as if this type of behaviour is only acceptable in one direction. A true WUM.
Master class from the big man! Part of all sports is getting in the oppositions head, and Sinckler was an easy target back then. Love a good wind up in Rugby. If he's smiling whilst grabbing your shirt, it means he is living in your head rent free
It’s all down to knowing the character of the opposing players. I would regularly antagonise specific opponents because I knew they would bite and do something silly, just like here, but I wouldn’t waste my time on others because I knew they knew exactly what I was up. If an opponent tried it on me then I would usually just smile and wink or whatever, which would sometimes really get to them so their intentions rebounded. It’s all part of the psychological side of the game and AWJ is definitely a Master! I never saw anything that happened on the pitch being carried over into the clubhouse but maybe I’ve just led a sheltered life... :-)
I’ve watched AWJ play this sort of game with a number of his opponents ...he did it to Tom Curry last England vs Wales game ..took him out in a ruck when Curry was an easy target ...These two England players are world class ..literally ..
Surely the point is that if Sinkler can't take the sledging and loses his rag he shouldn't be on the pitch. The take out at the ruck is fair game, so is keeping hold of him in a maul. Sinkler's reactions in pushing AWJ and taking out the kicker are foul play, more penalties against what was a poorly disciplined England team. In the end it was their discipline, or rather the lack of it which cost them the game.
And now Welsh fans criticize Galthié for saying in his press conference that the welsh are known for playing the ref and over acting every contact to milk penalties and cards. Funny how the tables turn sometimes.
thats why i love it when he cried during the lions ending ... he straight up forced the ref to kick out the medics when the bok treated was clearly bleeding
England fan here.. Gotta say fair play to AWJ, very nicely done. Just a shame Sinks doesn't just keep his head screwed on because aside from his volatility he's a great player.
Like no other back row forward gets in the face of the opponents. He did his homework and did a job to rattle Carl Sinckler. I think Sinckler was unlucky to have been substituted because apart from a few flare ups he played pretty well in this game.
No he didn't. If the ref had seen half of what was going on AWJ would have been carded. Or at least conceded penalties. he "Hoodwinked" the ref, Simple as that
Depends if you see playing within the rules as not breaking them, or not being seen to break them. All teams do it, rugby needs to decide if it wants players deliberately making others violent. This would be very easy to stamp out with post-match penalties.
@@davids3539 World rugby has already decided on the post match citing rules.....and a player cannot deliberately make another player violent..... as a player can choose to ignore any provocation......it's simple ...Sinckler is a child. officiating.worldrugby.org/?module=6§ion=48&subsection=162#:~:text=A%20Citing%20Commissioner%20is%20an,warrants%20a%20Red%20Card%20sanction.
Itoje has held people down before right in front of the ref for ages and nothing happens it’s completely legal to hold people down like he did and he only did it for a few seconds he was completely insincerity’s the laws and suckler wasnt
Sinkler needs to work on his cool. He is a quality tight head but he is also a hot head and opposition teams know it and aim to wind him up for easy penalties and yellow cards. He plays right into their hands.
see that's the thing. Why rely on your skills when they may not be as good as your opponents. Mind games are huge. Take for example England vs Ireland in the 2003 Six Nations, when Martin Johnson led the English team onto the wrong side, refusing to move, forcing the Ireland team past the red carpet. Offset Ireland from the get go, and the game was won before it had even started.
nahh thats nothing if u want to piss someone off at the ruck just grab the shirt off their back and stick it over their head so they cant see then go in low and move them out of the ruck get em every time
What annoys me is not the winding up... It's the pretending you're the good guy. Joe Marler would always wind up the opposition but was very obviously the bad boy of rugby... So in a way, honest about it.
Its always the same old ones....great play by our real Prince of Wales AWJ,spot a weakness and then then poke it into losing its head...Happens every time with the usual suspects and england have a few....its what costs them time and time again, they lack gametime intelligence.
he's a former great for wales - but he's also a hyprocrite - how he whinged when marler wound him up, this went on after the game and to the camera. Yet hes v happy to wind up others. The facts are that he is happy to dish it out not so glad to take it, it would seem. maybe not so great afterall.
@@mygoogle1482 nope. 151 caps stands alone. The logic is if he needed to change his behaviour he would have but he doesn't so he hasn't. Your logic is flawed fundamentally at it's core. Nice try though.
If you believe caps excuse all behaviour yes. But that’s like saying zuckerburgs right in everything he does cos he’s got more money. Which is the flaw in your logic.which is pretty straightforward to understand.
AWJ has bent the rules as long as he has been playing for Wales. "Accidentally" standing offside on the pretext of gettting his bearings along with lots of other "cheats" but dont blame him for that. Im afraid that it has now become win at all costs and professionalism is to blame. Sad but that is known as progress.
This video highlights beautifully how wales compensate for their lack of rugby ability. I suppose this is the only way to get ahead if you’re a much weaker team.
Weak team? Are you English or a miserable scot? I suppose all the grand slam wins where just lucky as well? And coming very close to beating the team that absolutely battered you in the RWC final? 😂😂😂😂
@@stevenmcalister826 I’m welsh but not emotionally attached to the team so completely tasteless I also bet with my brain not with my heart, hence had £500 on England to beat New Zealand in the World Cup at 7/1. Nothing personal pal, it’s all business to me 😉
