Not only what he's done, but also how he's done it. Always a man of class, and humility, and fucking tough as hell. As South Africans we always know there's no such thing as an easy game against Wales - Wales is pretty much the proudest rugby nation out there, so it's like you're taking on the whole country at once. And AWJ's presence over the last decade and half has been a backbone of that. Thank you for the great memories, and I know in SA we really want you to captain the Lions, because you're the leader we respect the most on that side, and we always want to play the best. The great Pride of Wales - an awesome thing to witness!
Thank you!! I hope the 2021 Lions tour provides a great performance from both teams. I have huge respect for South Africa and was ecstatic when they won the 2019 world cup (even if it was at Wales's expense 😂) 🏴🇿🇦
Alec, thank you so very much. Very kind words from you. I was born and bred in Pontypool and saw my first match when I was 3 years old. I was looking forward to going to SA for the Lions tour but as we all know we can’t travel to SA. Are you going to any of the matches?
@@richarddavies7555 I bloody wish I could go - unfortunately the ticket sales thing is a mess, still lots of misinformation, but last I checked the stadium's were gonna be empty unfortunately. Will be weird for sure with no crowds in. I'm not sure who'll win the series but pretty sure it'll be 2-1... neither team is safely ahead in all departments
Alum Wyn Jones: a living legend of a player! It is no coincidence that Wales returned to being an international powerhouse during his time on the national team.
Alun Wyn Jones is a legendary player with amazing spirit and leadership! He has represented his position proudly not to mention his pride as a Welshman and revealing how being a stunning figure in the 2nd row as a lock can be an amazing journey which he has had in spades! I'm an American who loves rugby and am a avid enthusiast of this fine and incredibly fast growing sport! I have a lot of respect for his skill and his humbleness and i too have a bit of Welsh blood on my father's side which i am extremely proud of! Alun Wyn Jones deserves this recognition and to see all these players from legends of the past to the current squad players from his team and apposing players. It really shows how much he has shown and grown over the years! Way to go AWJ! Congratulations from the USA and you have cemented yourself into rugby history as a servant of greatness! Thanks for all the memories and incredible moments! Cheers!
AWJ many congratulations. What more can be said. AWJ is a fantastic player and great captain. I'm sure the team will win the grand slam to celebrate the 150th cap.
Goosebumps all over . To hear the ‘ best of the best ‘ respecting what our great AWJ is achieving, and so far achieved, omfg 💪❤️. Would only happen in this great sport of ours 🙏🏉 . Legalised brutality, lawful hooliganism , 🤣🤣🤣 . The best of mates afterwards 🤝 . I’m in bits 😥 diolch yn fawr iwan AWJ cymru am byth ❤️🏴🏉🏴🏉🏴👑👑👑 . Now for the Slam 🙏💪🏴❤️
To play 149 club games is a massive achievement, but to play so many test - and always be so damn good - is superhuman. Widely regarded, and rightly so, as one of the best players ever. Got to Lions captain this year.
What a great rugby man. I hope he continues for many more. Love the guy. As a paddy I can only say his only fault is not being Irish! Omg jones and O’Connell together in the same team, jayzus we would have won everything!
For mine it's either Gareth Edwards or Barry John. Mind you, AWJ would easily be with Edwards and John in an all-time Wales XV. It's hard to say who's the best ever because the playing roles are very different.
@@stuartlee7192 you reckon there's more that are better... I disagree. Bridie, POC, Maitfield and Iitoje... who else? if you think AWJ isn't in that company you're mad....! Possibly John Eales? Whitelock? I rate AWJ ahead of those two...
@@dunlaoghaire Thank the good Lord this is all subjective! Which is all it can be. Few people, regardless of era, will manage 15+ years in International rugby, in the same position as they first started. On the horizon............ Long time yet but I wouldn't put it past George North to be the next Welshman to exceed 150 caps? Probably seen the last of George on the wing, now he's at 13, next step will be 12 and finally, 5-6 years from now, probably at 15.
@@del_boy_trotter You won't go from Wing to Centre to 2nd five(inside centre if your up north) to finish playing career at the back. Well not down here in the SH you wouldn't anyway.
