Your website does not have a dropdown for country New Zealand but thanks for the link which I used to order toner for my Brother HL-3040CN. The toner is installed and I am very satisfied. I will use your refill products again

Thank you for showing how to reset the toner cartridge wheel. For some reason, my brother HL-3040 CN printer allows me to only print about 50 pages per cartridge before it shows it as empty. Yes, it must be defective. Eventually, I will get a new printer, but for now, I can just reset the cartridge.

Jayr9544 It might not just be a case of the right weight of toner - although there is the possibility of it squeezing out past the developer roller if you over-fill. You need to refill at the right moment, with the right toner and it must be capable of "mixing over" any remaining OEM toner in the case of most Brother engines. When we developed our kit for the HL-2130 We did - and ran out - the refill 12 times on the printer to check everything was OK

Hello, U Refill Toner. I have some small questions. With the original toner cartridge the machine doesn't let you print with less than 15 grams, but you can reset the toner cartridge and then you can, is this a problem? (1-open the lid up. 2- Press at time secure button and cancel button 3- Select K-TNR-STD (for black) or move with + or - to select other colours. 4- With color you want to reset press return(ok). 5- Confirm pressing return(ok)(with this reset is needed do the wheel reset) The second question is, how many grams have your refills? and what quantity is needed pre refill? I don.t know if the bottle is a single use or not, that's my doubt. Thank you for your video. Waiting for your answers.

Punqui69. Thanks for your input. The 5 step reset process. We could not get it to work reliably on either of our 2 printer in the UK. So we could not get behind it based on our experience. But my guess is that you will still not be able to print if toner content is down to about 15g. Reason? The machine will still obey its optical sensor which can actually "see" that the toner level is low. This is the same answer as I gave to Lieven below. The U Refill Toner product is one bottle for one refill. Adjusted to the correct weight already. And designed to be refillable ON TOP of that 15g residual we've been talking about.

I thought that the hl-3040 used a tn-210 cartridge, not the one shown. Also, do they sell your kit in the US?

My HL-3040CN warned that Cyan toner cartridge (starter cartridge labeled "C") had to be replaced. I bought a new TN-230C cartridge (expensive!) but before installing I compared weight of both. What I find very strange is that new one is only 10 grams heavier + starter cartridge hasn't got the reset gear+spring, thus lighter anyway. Also, I printed only 350 color A4 pages in total. With that info I cannot believe toner is actually low. So my question: how does printer "know" that cartridge is empty? Do I really need to refill or is adding + positioning (according your very good video) a reset wheel enough to continue using my original, starter cyan cartridge. Many thanks in advance

Lieven The printer knows the cartridge is "empty" (and we use the term loosely) by attempting to pass a light beam across the toner compartment. If the light beam gets across, the printer figures the cartridge is "empty" and that's what's happened to your cyan starter. But in fact there is about 15g grams of toner left in. Although our products don't go down the route you're suggesting, we think just resetting as per our video would fail. Reason: because the photo-eye would still be able to see the cartridge was "empty".

U Refill Toner Thanks very much for a most informative video on a vexing topic. I certainly favour your speculation that there may be a cynical plan at foot to discourage people from taking the cost-saving route of filling their own cartridges. I have the very same machine that you demonstrated, but unfortunately I am in NZ, so the cost of acquiring kits from the UK may be prohibitive.

Any tips for extending drum life? Marketing suggests they're good for only upto 12k pages, that goes through four high-yield or ten standard toner cartridges for mine. Seems like a short life for something expensive to replace.

You can certainly get more toner into the cartridge, but its chip is potentially a spanner in the works and we haven't done any active research on that printer yet
