You don’t understand how much these videos mean to other shopaholics that are going insane right now because we literally cannot splurge at all. Addressing my spending addiction was such a freeing thing to do and I’m so proud of you Kylie!! You are such an inspiration on RU-vid and have gotten me through some tough times with your content and I hope this gives you the structure and stability you are looking for. You are the best!!

Same. Went from top tier Sephora VIB ROUGE winter 2019 to no buy Sephora ever since covid lockdown, I have way too much makeup, now instead of hoarding beauty products I don’t need, I stock up on canned foods, water, beans, rice, batteries, tp, emergency first aid stuff, water filter, figuring out how to cook food without electricity for long periods, charcoal/wood etc… basically prepping for a potential collapse…. Have at least 3 months of food/water in case, it’s great you got your house cause you have a lot more room for storage… I went from shopaholic too like you to now being focused on necessities only…. Bake that bread! Grow those herbs! 🌿👏😄🥖

Ok so you being so worried about a recession and become serious about money spending habits is totally valid and I love hearing it so I dont want my comment to seem like I'm diminishing that... BUUUUT it also makes me laugh bc it's such like a, "omg when did we turn into our parents" type of real adult thing and it's still so weird to me that we're legit adults now lmao

Yeah and those of us who have been with Kylie for years with the beauty tutorials and now evolving into more realistic planning realizing we have enough makeup, we don’t need that new palette or any for that matter lol… I’m over hear stocking up on canned tuna not palettes 🎨 🤣

This is all awesome. Sometimes I think that shopping is something people do when they really just need to get out of the house, walk around, go for a bike ride, meet a friend for a coffee, visit a park. I love "stuff" too, especially vintage things. It's cliche, but solid advice: you can't take it with you. As parents pass away and you see how much they accumulated it gives a lot of perspective into what we have and when enough is enough. Also! Your old house is great! New houses are boring and wasteful. You made a good call getting it.

I really appreciate this type of content! I’ve found myself in a no buy as well recognizing my bad spending habits mostly because of fear of this economy right now and how much more just basic essentials are. It’s been hard for me to watch some of my favorite RU-vidrs because all they post is Amazon hauls/ shopping at home goods / my new designer bag etc and I’ve been able to realize consuming that content was not helping me stay level headed with my finances. In this especially hard time I really appreciate content like this so thank you! 💖

My neighbor had a fire going and a squirrel fell down their chimney, into the fire, jumped out of the fireplace on fire and ran through her house. Her husband and teens were chasing it trying to throw their beverages (only thing handy) on it to put the squirrel out as it ran to not light the house on fire. Our homes are wooded lots, not very close, and we heard screaming and then sirens and thought a serial killer. No, clumsy squirrel on fire dropped from the sky and ran wild (who did live and got vet care). Grateful not my home because I wouldn't handle that well. Not a situation one thinks they will have to handle in life lmao. 😂😂 🐿

The Amish is where you can go to get cheap food. Where I live they will have 34 cents/pound apples in the fall. Bulk oatmeal, beans, fresh ground nut butters (I got mine for less than $2/pound),etc. Many Amish communities also have discount stores. I have found things like Charmin toilet paper, crest toothpaste, etc. It seems almost criminal to walk out with things I paid a buck or less for that are $10 at a store. I can handle a minor dent or tear!

I relate so much to all of this. I had gotten into a depression because my job is unstructured and I started to do nothing all day. It also pushed me to being a shopaholic because buying new things was the only thing making me feel good. I also recently started giving myself a schedule and I agree, it has helped so much. I don’t have a house yet, so I really need to be better about saving!

Inflation is kick our butt too here in California. I'm only shopping at grocery outlet (it's like Aldi) that's 3 cities away cause we went from 250 in groceries now to less than a 100$ for one week. You’re so right about Marshall’s. Simplifying my skincare (thanks to Dr Dray) and finding my actual style (both interior décor and fashion), there’s not a single thing I need from TJ Maxx/Marshall’s. I also found out I spend a lot more at the grocery store if I do delivery or pickup. I could relate to so much of this! 😆 When I moved from Maine to Arkansas I realized that Arkansas doesn’t require a front plate and I was so weirded out by that for a while. Also my weird shopping quirk is that I will grab a bunch of stuff and put it in my cart and then get buyers remorse right away and go put it all back. I’ve done that for years! Your video made me realize that I also need to deal with my excessive spending habit. I’ve known that I need to for a little while because gas prices are so high and I felt really helpless as to what to do because it feels like as soon as I get any money it goes right out the window. All of it is mostly bills and house stuff because we’re renovating and fuel because my husband drives a semi truck which - that’ll really make you see that gas prices are super high! 😬

Thank you for speaking on this. I’m used to being able to spend money freely but as of late I have had to tighten down the hatch. Mostly because I don’t have the extra money I once did.. it’s going to gas, or food as all these things are so inflated. It’s caused me to get sort of depressed and I feel less fulfilled. I’ve realized shopping causes me to have temporary happiness in that moment. So I’d just shop and shop to “feel” something so to speak. Times are scary though and budgeting feels so necessary. It was warped so the water in the tank was very very slightly draining, making the toilet make sounds. I started extreme couponing because of prices of basic items. For a bottle of laundry detergent, a pack of toilet paper and a pack of paper towels, it was almsot $50. That’s ridiculous. So I started extreme couponing with EVERYTHING I need, food doesn’t really have deals like items do, but I ended up only paying $0.09 cents LITERALLY for that laundry detergent, paper towels & toilet paper. I coupon at CVS bc you can stack coupons there and they give you their own, and CVS money back when you do your couponing certain ways it’s amazing. You should look into it. I’ve been watching you for years and I’d love to see you get into that content too because I feel you’d love it and be so good at it! But that’s how I’m saving money for my family. 2 things. first you can make pasta in the instantpot in just a few minutes. put it in the pot, cover it with just enough water so none is sticking out. then take the amount listed on the box and divide by 2, if it is an odd number, round down. do a manual release when the time is up!! second, most name-brand cereals (for example: general mills & kelllogs) aren't vegan because they are fortified with d3 which comes from sheep :(

Yesss the most relatable video ever! We’re feeling it with having just bought a house too. Thanks so much for sharing all your thoughts and the things no one else talks about! Keep sharing your tips and tricks 😂😂🥰

Girl I hear you. I so wish we could have bought a new house, but all the new builds in our area are way too expensive, and too big for us anyway. We're having to do everything in stages and relying on friends for help, so there's unfinished projects all over the house and it's stressful. I constantly feel like I'm not doing enough. There's this romanticized view of homeownership that I just haven't felt yet. Anyway I'm on your side. 🤗

I felt the same way when I switched from IL to OH plates! I even kept my IL drivers license for WAY too long because I wasn’t ready to be officially living in Ohio 😂

I’m loving the personal growth for you! I think these tough times, how expensive things have gotten, has really got everyone rethinking their spending habits. Now you can just call me Misses Stingy because I’m not buying it, unless I absolutely need it.

With the Roku there’s lots of free shows and apps you can add. RU-vid TV is only $65/mo. We cut cable years ago & never looked back 😁 Sis, I can feed a family of 4 on $200 for 2 weeks. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and we eat meat, lol! Plan out a menu and only shop for those ingredients and you’ll save a ton of $$.

Budgeting tip: give each of you a “fun money” line. It doesn’t have to be much. But it will keep you from going crazy. Lol

Get a Sam’s or Costco membership too! Buying in bulk for things you use a lot is so much more cost effective.

Damn I can't believe how much alike we are, especially with the shopping habits! and believe me, I've bought TONS of stuff from everywhere inspired by your hauls. Do I need to stop following you???? That was a scary thought and the answer is no. I too had this recent realization that I need to be more cognizant of my daily needs, wants, budget. and bad habits.

I need to catch up and get back on the twitch streams!! I didn’t know you were still streaming. I’ve also been way more frugal than I used to be. I used to go to target all the time and over spend. I don’t go as often and it’s a lot better for money saving. I’ve been to Aldi but I get stressed at the checkout. I need to try it again, i could probably save a lot more than I do at Walmart

Oh man I needed to hear all of this today! 😅 I became a stay at home mama recently, and my son is pretty young so TJMaxx/Marshall’s have become my excuse to get out of the house some days. And you’re so right, I just don’t need anything there!

I moved from NW chi suburbs to FL. here were also not required to have front license plates which I love. makes my truck sexy. I'm happy & proud of you for spending change. I would watch your videos & think damn you buy alot of unnecessary stuff like the stuffed animals (melons) and all the antique glassware. good job
