CORRECTION: DOOM IS $34, not $36 Every single person that had loose legs on Lambant Seeker was issued a replacement via GCCs customer service. They were parts on BL that were not satisfactory. GCC customer service is worth talking to, and I have had great customer service interactions as mentioned. Thank you all for watching!
This video was highly appreciated. Thank you MayDay. While it's expected that products from custom pad printing companies come with higher prices, it's pretty ridiculous how small alterations such as arm printing or official helmets can significantly increase the price of figures, particularly named characters. Also, many products from recent releases seem to lack perfection on their initial launch, leading to the need for V2’s and V3’s. This can be seen in figures like Wolffe, Doom, Bly, Comet, Boost, and Sinker, which were released in a rush without fixing printing details or figure quality, leading to fan frustration. For example, Comet, Boost and Sinker were all missing a grey elbow pad and stripe printing on their arm prints. I wonder if GCC perfected their replica helmet for p2 clones and used them for all future figures would help fix the pricing issue. I love GCC and I’m optimistic that they’ll address these issues in the future as they’re always innovating with their products.
There’s a rule in sales, that the cheaper your product the more you sell. I think it would be beneficial for both GCC, other pad printers, and the consumer if prices were lower. If I could spend $100 and get 10 figs I would do that way more often. But idk what their production costs are currently, but mass producing always lowers your price point
I always thought the high prices were kind of them being 'kickstarter' prices and as it's grown popularity and much more customers, the price could calm down a bit more.
Price is only going to go up not down. Why would they do work and take the monetary risks with producing so many and asking for less. Profit is only about $6 per fig anyway for the grunts
On GCC’s quality control: some figures arrive with damaged prints, but GCC will ALWAYS replaced damaged parts. Just reach out to GCC or the reseller you purchased from. Thank you for this video, Brian! Feedback is essential for GCC and their partners, yours comes from the best of places 🫶
I agree with most of your points, I believe they need to do fewer releases making time for feedback and making time for there customers wallet to recover, I love Gcc but they are quite expensive and as someone who is starting a pad printing customs business here soon I see the main reason it is so expensive is mark up and more profit which is a shame. This is why I am excited to start my own business as I want to expand past just P2 clones and make P1's, a lot more sw characters and way more characters outside of sw, I think this would be a smart move for GCC to do as well. This is one reason I love Bo-katan bricks so much yes they have done a clone, rex but he was unique and they continually release banger figures like tonights release that I am choosing to buy over the past few Gcc releases.
I think GCC quality is phenomenal, lots of unique characters we would never see LEGO make. It’s just unfortunately not reasonable to pay $22-36 per figure. I recently started decaling, for approx $100 I’ve been able to make 35 clones I wouldn’t be able to get normally, make those GCC and it would be 3-4 figures for that same price. Obviously pad printing and UV printing is so much higher quality but it’s just not as easy to justify price. For example in Canada a $35 figure becomes a $47 figure when converted, then another $15 cdn for shipping making it $60. Even through re sellers you are still looking about $40 CDN. I love GCC’s quality and I own a few figures, but you need to have a decent disposable income to be able to consistently get all these drops.
I gotta agree with all that. GCC is getting pretty expensive now. I pretty much have to get the bare minimum, only focusing on some named fugures. I'd love to get more grunts but they just aren't priced at a good army building price. As for the V2s and V3s, yeah, they definitely should be releasing renders of the figures before production. Community feedback is a good way to catch any errors before a product is produced, and would allow them to make any changes deemed necessary. I bought the V1 Wolffe knowing a V2 was coming knowing I wasn't bothered by the visor issue. Well, now they announce a V3 WITH helmet holed and I now need to buy a whole nother figure because that's what I'd wanted in the first place. I love GCC products but also would love to see them improve.
Exactly, why is GCC the same price as CAC but less printing? CAC does 360 degree prints (using pad printing same that GCC and LEGO uses) and custom molds using ABS plastic, and GCC doesn’t do any of this but is the same price?
@@Vor1ki also gcc copies lego's designs and just recolors or adds small details. i never bought CAC ever but i can tell they put more effort and value instead of gcc
GCC has always been expensive to me. Now its prices are just ludicrous. Also, I feel like people only care about 1 or 2 clone legions, maybe 4 if they're big clone wars fans. What I'm getting at is clone legions/characters that have a collective .5 seconds of screentime might not have as many fans as say, the 501st. Not that I think having these in Lego form isn't neat. Just that we may be overestimating the amount of people that actually want to have them.
not only does it feel like we’re being priced out but for the last 2 drops at least for me their website was too broken to buy anything. i’ve been a GCC diehard collector for over a year now but i think i might need to say goodbye. last time i missed a drop and spent a bunch with a reseller and that was over a month and a half ago and the package is still stuck at customs. can’t keep justifying it to myself with all these issues :(
I appreciate the video, thanks MayDay ! I've been an active GCC's customer since early 2023 (i got the jet trooper legs !). As I speak, I have 40 minifig from GCC. However, I progressively stopped ordering due to the increase in princing....
I've been watching GCC's work for months, maybe even a year now, but I've never bought a figure from them. The price is just too expensive, especially if I can A. decal 5 figures for the same price, or B. Buy UV-printed bodies from sellers like Jonak and pair them with CAC helmets. I really hope GCC reduces their prices or at the very least, sells some misprinted parts for cheap.
I did decal my own Wolfpack in spite of the GCC drop. The named characters were good to accompany the GCC Wolffe, but not worth $100 altogether. I would’ve like to just have the helmets at their usual, accessible price.
@PrinceAntony989 I would love to see GCC make some Wolfpack trio helmets for sale without the bodies. That way, you could get the Jonak printed bodies and have the whole trio for less than $40
I've personally never felt tempted to buy from GCC. I mean sure their products are the most consistent with Lego's style, but they are way too overpriced for what you get. Comparatively CAC is similar in pricing but offers prints with higher quality, detail and just has better customer service. Even decals are a better alternative
THANK YOU!!!! The only reason I saw for getting GCC clones is because they were cheaper than CAC, but now that isn’t even true. Just wait for a 20% sale for CAC and get a squad pack (4 figures), you’ll be getting each figure for only like $15 and they’re such higher quality. Especially for a Wolfpack trooper like Booster whose grey/sand blue marking should be going around their helmet or else it just looks weird af.
As someone living in China the cost of production for GCC is WAY lower than any other country available and yet they price their products like a well known company like CAC
i wish that GCC would do a made to order thing, i’ve missed out on soooo many of these figures, and i’d love to get more of their figures but they are just so expensive and sell out so fast
I'm a lurker to this channel, and I have always watched from the sidelines when custom clone minifigs are concerned. While I really like the design and the accuracy of custom clones, I cannot justify the 30+ dollars/euros for a custom minifig while I could buy an entire set for that price. I really hope GCC does bring their prices down in the future.
I will say, despite the criticism.towards dooms visor, I really like the effort that was put into giving us a lego style visor in a color it'll probably never exist in
I really appreciate how you talk about the pricing. For a lot of reviewers, they seem to just skip the pricing or don’t care as much because they’re getting it for free. And thats selfish of them. Not everyone can spend 35$ for a plastic figure.I’m just glad that you are thinking not only about yourself but about us and I can’t wait for Zam Wesell. I’m going to try to stay up till 12pm to be able to get it on time. How many copies are you making?
I love GCC, got into them with HelloThereRex’s Fox torso and I somewhat agree. Some things are very pricy and despite being quality, I can’t justify sometimes dropping $30 on a figure when that can buy a clone battle pack or small set. I have the Wolfpack trio but that’s almost a gunship… It starts to add up over time… I also agree on the v2 and v3 issue. Saw it with Wolffe and Bly, and I agree on the heads. It would be great if you could throw in heads for the Umbara 501st boys
@@Dragsio4 yea it’s why I’m a bit more hesitant on v1’s. I wasn’t interested in Bly at all but KaminoBricks had a v2 and I bought it and was blown away. It sucks for people who buy v1 or v2 and have no way of updating and getting the newest version of the figure…
@@RampantPuppy And the easy solution is to publish the design, make changes based on feedback and then print a big amount of that figure, that way price can also be lowered (supply and demand). PS: English is not my native language, so sorry for the typos.
A frustrating thing I’ve found is after the release of products they unveil a new version a month later that’s significantly better or different. An example would be the new senate guards, I ordered two on release but now, not a month later they’ve revealed they’re doing a new version that’s way better. I personally would like clearer communication stop people falling victim to these kind of situations. I mean first world problems am I right XD
I really like GCC I get hyped up to see what they come up with. I just can’t buy a 30-40 dollar clone figure as an adult with bills. Same with bokatan bricks and other custom makers. Especially after they charge 6-10 dollars to ship something, I get shipping isn’t free but I’ve shipped minifigs before and it’s never been 10 dollars to send a tiny bubble mailer to a domestic address from a domestic reseller. Still cool to follow around and see what they come up with. But I can’t partake mostly
I agree a $30+ custom fig normally has to be a new mold or 360 degree/ complex printing to be worth that price to me... Which we also have to remember custom figs normally are not good investments unlike normal lego... And not to mention the stuff from china has gotten amazing for under $20... Which I love GCC I have a few helmets and spartans from halo. So I want them to improve and it's sad to see their quality drop... But I get it must be a hard spot to be in though because they are not lego nor a super custom so they can't charge to much yet it seems they have too.
Absolutely agree with your points, GCC need to chill a bit with rushed v2 v3, bring more restocks, newer molds also lower the cost with restock figs, newer molds with price increase is understandable but stepping up prices with small improvements / changes is wrong
i really want to buy custom clones like wolf pack troopers or Doom, but the price is really golding me back. why should i buy ONE figure for $30? i get that a lot of work goes into these it just doesn't seem worth it imo. Also, seeing several stories of issues really puts me off buying what otherwise are amazing figures
Hoping GCC makes more of their bigger named character’s helmets available on their own, cuz I’d be way cheaper to just use a jonack body with a GCC helmet. Also hoping for some phase 1 clones
I personally believe that GCC should redesign their phase 2 clone helmet as it doesn't sit on the figures head properly and generally looks too large, if was made to look identical to the official p2 helmet like their airborne mould does, it could replace using the official helmet at all, reducing the cost of sourcing official helmets (that are also now retired) and subsequently reducing the price.
If you do not think that a torso and and printed legs is worth $15 your crazy. For figs that have 360 pad printing there is a reason the prices are $40+ for those.
I want to make my own pad printing clones with a pad printer but I can not find any guides or help on youtube. Anybody know a video which could help me out?
Ngl it sucks cuz i finally save up my allowance to get the one of the wolf pack trooper, I thought "huh it's probably $20 at max" then i see the website... I ain't payin' allat 😩💀
I’ve been buying a couple of gcc’s figs, but they are too expensive for me to keep buying them regularly. He does great work, but the prices are rising too rapidly. Imagine if he just made helmets so you don’t have to pay $25 for a torso and legs!
i see these expensive prices and think that if i’m going to splurge, why not spend it on cac for way more prints, accessories, and higher quality prints than lego? sure keeping with the consistent style is nice, but not really to justify it being priced the same as these 360 printed figs
I know I'm in the minority, but I actually really like legos official phase 2 with helmet holes due to the wider shape. It just looks better imo. So for me, I don't have any reason to get gcc when i can decal for way cheaper and on the helmet mold i prefer.
I'm poor, and i definitely want to buy customs, but 20-30 bucks seems steep for counterfeit Lego. 3d printed should've made the market more accessible. Meanwhile CAC has really great droids for 4.50 a piece, but clones for like 18 to 30$. I love the looks of these customs but It'll break the bank and decal customs look difficult as fuck to put on without screwing up royally.
Imo, my biggest concern is with the quality of the figures. I’m fine with paying premium for a premium product, but it sucks when they get damaged easily, or they arrive with small scuffs and scratches.
I think the worst figure I saw was the 212th heavy gunner which was 26$. That figure used a official helmet but to be honest, all it really was was adding two stripes on the regular white trooper helmets from the new battlepack. It also had an official visor but cmon man, you get 4 of those every battlepack. 26$ was outrageous. Like I love their figures but I can't fathom why a lot of them cost so much when cmf figures are around 5-7$. I get outsourcing unreleased official helmets would cost much, but when they release figures with official helmets from battlepacks it should not be that much. There's plenty of white helmets man.
I've been saying this in the Discord. There should be no reason for a V2 or V3 of a fig that hasn't even released. Renders need to be shared with the community for feedback
at this point it just feels like a bait and switch cash grab when we don’t even know if there will be a v2 so people buy the bad one anyway out of fomo
More importantly than $15.50, the torsos can be bought for $5 each. So are the legs and the blank black head (which isn't actually official) really worth $10.50? Just for a pair of legs? They could lower the price of their army builders to $15 or $16 and be right in the golden spot for prices imo
I had some stained helmets and they just said it was different batches. Didn’t offer any real solution. I have an order coming and it’ll probably be my last. I just can’t accept bad customer service.
My favorite part about GCC is when they dropped Tukk. The website crashed when it was processing my payment and I lost the figure to a bot. That for me was the final straw between Lego Star Wars fans just being a general cancer to be around and the resell market taking over everything I’ve gathered up all my collection to sell to bricks and Minifigs. Fuck this hobby.
Don’t get me wrong I agree GCC stuff is over priced but if you want a expense figure be it GCC or Lego at least try decaling it’s a lot more work but in the uk where decals are way more expensive because there shipped from the us is can do 3 basic figures for the price of 1 GCC on
Also the printing can be expensive and making their own molds with there money so I am grateful for them spending a lot of money to make figures For us gcc is pricing them so high because all the machines are expensive
You are talking about high prices but it looks like you and your partner bokatanbricks are putting the custom Zam helmet behind €100 paywall and let people spend €140 to get the complete figure. Am I wrong?
@@maydayfigs I get those sand red parts are expensive, i'm just disappointed you guys out price people by adding the purple helmet to the sand red figure instead of selling some base figures + custom helmet for €65 or €70.
Look, man. $34 for a boutique toy item is a very good deal. Quality control with official lego parts aside, you would be hard-pressed to find a custom figure with arm, leg, torso, helmet and fabric printing for that price anywhere else. If you can’t afford spending $70 a month on Lego minifigs, then don’t buy them. I know I can’t.
i recently purchased some GCC clones and i have to say they are great but not perfect, for starters the helmet holes on mine wouldnt fit a CAC antenna, it would barely fit a regular lego antenna, second, the joints on my umbra arc are very stiff, was very hard trying to take the legs off to put the kama on, additionally the arms are very stiff and i think my arc already has a small crack underneath one arm despite the only thing ive done with it is take it out the package, put accessories on it and put it on display, im still impressed with the design quality but the overall quality seems to be going downhill
The V2 Wolfpack trooper i received last week had a helmet where the printing was coming loose like it was a sticker?! I bought it from a official reseller so no, it wasn’t a fake, the helmet just looked like it was shedding it’s skin, didn’t pick at it or anything. Don’t get me wrong, GCC is still my go-to, but this shit is incredibly disappointing for a €20 figure from a brand that’s known for quality
